Sunderland get us starting, currently sitting in 16th place.
The teams for today's clash:
Sunderland - Mignolet, Gardner, O'Shea, Cuellar, Rose, Johnson, Vaughan, Larsson, Sessewhatever, Fletcher, Graham.
Norwich - Bunn, Martin, Bassong, Turner, Garrido, Bennett, LUFC, LUFC Academy, LUFC, Hoolahan, Kamara.
Hey Bob,
I am on Tom's laptop right now. No use of my desktop. I will be around some today. Busy with stuff.
You need to erase the last comment on the Euro Draw thread... some porn guy commented
In the earlier Championship matches, Brighton have run out 3-0 winners over promotion rivals Palace.
And Burnley are 0-1 at Ewood Park - Blackburn are right up against it in their first season back in the Championship.
Danny Graham was nearly in there as the ball squeezed free in the box. Bunn was brave.
Good morning BD and UWS.Im here to join you for the action.
Morning, UWS - I already attended to that irritating Spam message. on the earlier thread. Thanks for the heads-up though.
Morning, MUR - how are you mate?
Great. How are you today?
Doing really well. Had a brilliant pre-St Paddy's Day bangers and mash feast last night.
Mine was more subdued. A few beers before I went to bed, but I made sure they were green bottles. Yours is far more interesting.
We've made it through the first quarter of an hour with lots of industry but few real chances.
John O'Shea had a free header, but headed well over from the corner.
It hasn't been for the purists.but one if you're looking for a cure for insomnia.
Dunno about that; I didn't exactly paint the town red. Just a nice meal and then saw the movie "Hyde Park on the Hudson" with Bill Murray as FDR.
Russell Martin wins a Norwich corner.
A poor corner easily headed away
Still sounds like a great meal and a great movie.
LUFC Academy product on both sides today - Danny Rose for Sunderland and Jonny Howson for Norwich.
Great meal and mediocre movie. I preferred Lincoln when it comes to Presidential movies this year.
Norwich is about a win and a draw from safety while Sunderland is two wins from safety.
That's more like it as Sessignon turned two defenders , but then the finish was poor.
Danny Rose is on a season long loan from spurts. There is also Snoddy and other for Norwich
John O'Shea represents the MUFC Academy while Kai Camara is on loan from KC.
GOAL! Norwich take the lead away from home with Hoolihan on the goal-line nodding home Kamara's initial effort.
0-1!
GOAL !!! WES HOOLIHAN SCORES WITH A HEADER RIGHT ON THE GOAL LINE AS KAI CAMARA HEADED ON A CORNER FROM SNODDY. NO SUNDERLAND MARKING AS THEY WERE BASICALLY A BUNCH OF SPECTATORS.
Martin O'Neill will be livid as the defending from the corner was non existent. He will have plenty to say at the half.
Yeah - the entire Norwich midfield is from Leeds - Johnson is an Arsenal youth product who we bought off Northhampton Town.
And Snoddy is Scottish - we bought him off Livingston.
Danny Rose was more like Danny Boy as he shot well over after great work from Sessignon. It looked like some thing from the LUFC Academy.
Oh dear - Bunn is in trouble here after having handling outside the area.
Red card - he's off - Norwich down to ten. Bunn is fuming as it appeared it went off the chest.
WOW!!! Mark Bunn has been sent off for intentional hand ball as he came out of his box to clear and it came off his chest. A shocking decision that could affect the outcome of the match
Lee Camp is going to come on for his Norwich debut in Bunn's stead. Goalscorer Wes Hoolihan is being sacrificed.
Michael Turner was really to blame there for selling Bunn short with the header back.
Hoolihan, the scorer is replaced by Lee Camp, the former Derby and Forest keeper, who makes his Norwich debut, Camp is also a Northern Ireland international
Oh - Gardener flashes the free kick just by the upright.
Nice anoraking there, mate.
I am back and have the desktop.
I tried to post my first message and the window went wonky... it did post though
Craig Gardener shoots just wide from the free kick that never should have been given.A goal would have been a real controversy
Where's UWS gone - long session in the bog again?
I see that SEAGULLS EAT EAGLES!!
3-0!!
Good morning UWS. Did you see the goal and the sending off for the nonexistent hand ball?
Just noticed the red card... yikes
Thanks , BD. The announcer did mention about him playing for Forest and Derby.
Did see the goal
Didn't see the red
Wonder if I can rewind!
I can't
Great run by Elliott Bennett as he wins a corner for the ten men.
Poor punch out by Mignolet and Bennett shoots well over.
just read your comments.
I saw both Prez movies
Michael Turner with the horrible error on his return to the SOL. He's not supposed to help his former team.
I have seen neither, but would like to watch Lincoln.
Penalty to SUnderland
Another controversial decision
Now Norwich are even more furious - the linesman has given a penalty when it looked as if the ball had gone off Bassong's chest. Amazing!
BLOODY HELL!THE LINESMAN HAS GIVEN SUNDERLAND A PENALTY FOR HAND BALL ON BASSONG.
Snoddy has got a yellow card for some choice Scots verbal abuses toward the linesman.
1-1
GOAL !!! 1-1 AS CRAIG GARDENER SCORES EMPHATICALLY FROM THE SPOT.
Gardner up...and scores in the top left. Camp with no chance.
1-1!
Well - that's really changed the complexion of the match.
I replayed the incident it NEVER touched his arm. It hit his chest. That's been two horrible decisions from the same linesman that incorrectly led to a red card and a penalty and a goal. Norwich should be leading and with eleven men.
Great save by Lee Camp from Seb Larsson, then Danny Graham shot the rebound wide when he should have scored.
It finished 1-1 in the Dundee Derby as Dundee are all, but relegated. They were only promoted because Rangers were relegated and it will be a swift return to the Scottish First.
This linesman should not be officiating and needs en eye examination followed by a crash course on the rules of Association Football.
I agree, MUR - the Canaries have every right to be furious as we get close to the interval. They should be one-up and have eleven men on the pitch.
Three minutes of stoppage time and we're halfway through that
The announcer said it was their first red in 44 EPL matches. The normally calm Chris Hughton may not be at the half.
Chris Foy is still getting a bollocking from Chris Martin as the teams troop off for half-time.
I wonder if officials review the controversial decisions at half-time and try to even things up.
A shot from Danny Rose deflects off of Michael Turner and off Lee camp and Chris Foy blows the halftime whistle before the corner can be taken, It's 1-1 at the half, but Norwich should be one up and with eleven men on the field.A mare for the linesman as he incorrectly had Mark Bunn sent off for handball and incorrectly flagged for a penalty for handball where Sunderland scored.
Not sure, BD. Warren Barton claims the officials got it right with both incidents. Is he watching the same match?
WELL DONE ! DAVID DUNN TIES IT UP FOR BLACKBURN VS BURNLEY IN THE FIFTH MINUTE OF STOPPAGE TIME
That helps a bit, I suppose. But it all seems a bit moot. We'll end up with between 60 and 65 points - far outside the playoffs.
It finishes 1-1 in that Lancashire Derby. David Dunn is a hero, but the result benefits neither team other than the fact that they're one point closer to safety
The second half is underway from the SOL.
Spurs vs Fulham kicks off in about twenty five minutes.
We're off again - let's hope that this second half isn't ruined by refereeing decisions.
Dunn and Bunn were once teammates at Blackburn. Was it a case of WELL DONE STICKY BUNN?
I'll bet - nice one, MUR!
I'll bet - nice one, MUR!
Back from another errand... I told you I would be spotty today!
I can only remember one real opportunity for Sunderland since the red card other than the penalty.
Ta, BD. Welcome back, UWS.
You're as spotty as a 14 year on Valentine's Day after eating half a box of choccies, UWS.
http://www.firstrow1.eu/watch/175510/1/watch-tottenham-hotspur-vs-fulham-fc.html
Link for Spurs but it isn't up yet
Craig Gardener straight at Lee Camp after his initial effort was blocked. The Norwich defenders have been camped in their own half.
I'll be watching the match on FSC+.
North of the border, the Dundees drew 1-1
St. Mirren meet Hears in the Scottish League Cup Final
Norwich players warming up with their pink bibs on!
I haven't been around enough to know
Is Becchio playing for the Canaries?
DId he make the move south for a place on a bench?
Dundee is all but relegated as it will be a swift return to the Scottish First as they were only promoted due to Rangers' relegation.
Correct UWS. He's on the bench. It appears that the move was made for that reason unless Grant Holt is leaving in the next year or two,.
Link has started
It is from FSC+
Great Sunderland break led by Danny Rose then Camp tips over an effort from Gardener. The corner is headed away, but Sunderland keep possession
Thanks for the link, mate. Spotty or not, we love ya!
Why wouldn't you stay at a club where you have a chance of being a major part of achieving what your transfer did (playing in Prem) instead of being a bystander!
Nice idea from Snoddy, but the through ball for Camara was just too long for Snoddy and Mignolet rushed out to clear.
Camp does well to save from Adam Johnson.
"Leeds United midfield in the third tier"
Sadly, the move was about money, not for football reasons.
Grant Holt is on the bench as well. It's Hoolahan and Kamara that kept Becchio out today. He has started for Norwich but hasn't scored in five appearances for Norwich. He can't really expect to get off the bench with that kind of strike rate.
I think he meant that Leeds were in League One a few seasons ago.
Agreed, BD and you have a ready made replacement in Steve Morison.
The announcer said that Chris Turner is an uncompromising defender. He sure wasn't on that back header
I know
He was saying that Norwich's midfield is the Leeds midfield from a few years ago
I think it was also footballing reasons. It was clear that Leeds didn't have the ambition to get promotion so if Becchio (as well as the other three who have gone to Norwich) wanted to play in the Premiership, they had to go to Norwich.
Grant Holt on for Kai Camara. Also Simeon Jackson is ahead of Becchio on the bench
Spurs could get ver close to Citeh with a win today
Leeds had a chance of going up.... especially with his goals
Chelsea could also with a win vs the Hammers. Martin Jol returning to WHL.
I believe Mancini's behavior shows signs if someone living on borrowed time. That kind of behavior is unsettling for players
That's true - if you look at the side that got us promotion to the Championship, Beckford went to Everton then Leicester and now Huddersfield, Gradel went to France, Kasper Schmeichel went to Leicester, and Johnson, Howson, Snoddy and now Becchio have gone to Norwich. That's six of the eleven regulars from that campaign that are now gone, including the entire front line, the entire midfield, the skipper, and the goalkeeper. That is - the heart and soul of that side.
That should have been a Norwich penalty as it was a definite handball by Danny Rose in the box. How is it given outside the box?
We're off at the Lane
They're off from WHL
And now Norwich have been robbed of a penalty. Stone cold handball in the area by LUFC Academy.
Titus Bramble on for Carlos Cuellar and he is booed by Norwich fans because he started his career at Portman Road.
Have I mentioned before how much I hate the camera angle from Shite Fart? Thought so....
Spurs with all the early attacking as Bale curls an effort high and wide from long range
Holt had a right for that one
Bad touch though
Grant Holt picks up a yellow within minutes of coming on. Heavy touch and then went two footed into the keeper.
Grant Holt booked for running into Mignolet off a long ball as it was typically shocking defending from Titus.
Leeds have done well not to be back in League One after selling off what is basically an entire starting lineup
James MacClean on now
Nearly 1-0 Spurs as a corner was cleared off the line from Riether off a header from Caulker
We have, really. If some of the players we brought in such as Ross McCormack and Luke Varney hadn't worked out well for us, we would have done.
Drac and Jol both returning to WHL.
It was actually Bale with the header goal bound, not Caulker.
Snoddy looks like, "I could have done better than that" after a crap free kick.
Shocking free kick from Elliott Bennett booted out of the stadium. A rare opportunity for the Canaries and they will need to do better than that
Adam Johnson has a shot deflected off the corner for another
The corner from Larsson was headed away as both corners were well outside the arc. A mare for the officials in this match.
Sunderland haven't won at home in two months.Based on this performance it's easy to see why.
Hearts take the lead vs St.Helen Mirren in the Scottish League Cup Final. The winner does not get a spot in Europe.
Connor Whickham on for Adam Johnson as that is now two for the ITFC Academy Factor. Norwich fans not pleased.
Dejagah wins a Fulham corner.
It's headed away then Dejagha is booked for pulling down Dembele, the former Cottager
Back from the loo
Missed nowt
Sessignon shoots wide from close range.
Correct, UWS. It's been poor in both matches.
BREAKING CHELSEA TEAM NEWS - Chelsea v West Ham (1600 GMT)
John Terry and Fernando Torres drop to the bench, despite both scoring in Thursday's Europa League win against Steaua Bucharest.
What's with the "Invest in Africa" sponsorship on the Sunderland kits?
Steve Whittaker on for Snoddy.
Surely United can beat this Sunderland side... after yesterday's performance... maybe not!
Sunderland up next for us
"Can you feel the bench, Fernandoooooo"
Yeah - no problems. It probably won't be a rout but a professional win like yesterday.
Not sure, BD. Howson fouled on the break by Larsson and it should have been a booking. Poor by The Arsenal Academy player on the LUFC Academy player
I don't know what to call yesterday's match.... except CRAP
Four minutes of stoppage time. We should beat this Sunderland side, but I don't expect a rout as it will probably be a reserve side two days ahead of that quarterfinal replay
I saw it when I came back home and it was. Thankfully , reading didn't have a shot on target and it might be the same for Sunderland.
Sunderland are still 7 points ahed of Wigan but have played two more games. They are 8 ahead of Reading and QPR with same amount played
Surprisingly poor showing for Sunderland facing ten men in the second half here. I wouldn't be surprised by some booing at the final whistle in a moment.
Surprisingly poor showing for Sunderland facing ten men in the second half here. I wouldn't be surprised by some booing at the final whistle in a moment.
Spurs with a free kick just outside the box due to handball by Duff. The free kick is headed away then shot well wide by Parker.
Interestingly - only the top nine sides are statistically safe with 40 points or better. The entire bottom half as well as Fulham in 10th could theoretically all be relegated at this stage.
A late Sunderland free kick by Seb Larsson and headed well wide by Steven Fletcher
Last Chance Saloon.. free kick comes to nothing.
Ends all even at the SoL
Martin won't be pleased!
It finishes 1-1 and as Bob stated, Sunderland fans deservedly boo a poor performance vs ten men.
So both clubs are one point closer to safety but Sunderland will be the more disappointed after that controversial penalty and sending off. Should have taken full advantage.
Off for a shower before the late ones.
I missed the Norwich's penalty appeal.
Was it?
They got screwed today with handballs!
I don't think so. If it was it slightly grazed Bassong's arm. The same with Bunn for the red card.
It's a surprisingly dull match at WHL
I agreed with the first two calls. The third one should have been a pen
I disagreed with the first two calls, but agree the third should have been a pen. Norwich unlucky not to win
Miles high and wide by Bale. That would have been great in the rugby match vs England yesterday.
It did hit the keeper's armpit after the chest
It was COMPLETELY lucky it didn't hit the arms... He went out with them stretched
Karagounis down after slight contact vs Ade. He walked off , so it can't be that serious. dramatics from the Greek veteran
Agreed. Should he heave been sent off for that if it didn't hit his arm? It changed the course of the match.
Did Wales defeat England yesterday?
St. Helen Mirren tie it up vs Hearts in the Scottish League Cup Final.
RIsse wins a corner off a nice long ball from Bryan Ruiz. He should have done a better job of controlling it.Shot well over off the corner.
BLOW UP REF! THIS HAS BEEN HORRIBLE!
BLOW UP REF! THIS HAS BEEN HORRIBLE!
Wales needed to beat England by seven points to beat England to the title
Final score
Wales 30 England 3
Bale goes down and looks hurt!
Lloris fumbles a pass from Drac that is cleared and he is bailed out due t o an injury to Bale.
WHL is in a hushed silence
OUCH! Sorry about that. I know you were rooting for England.
It sure is. They're a different team without their talisman.
Bale is back!
That is good!
Bale back on as spurs passed it around while waiting for him to be allowed on. Now they attack as Siggy shoots well wide. Three minutes of stoppage time.
Chelsea vs the Hammers and Wigan vs the Toon kick off in a few minutes.
Halftime and 0-0 after a really dull first half.
Nil nil at the Lane
Bale still limping coming off at half
1547:

I'm forever blowing bubbles!!!
The match is underway from SB.
West Ham going for the double over the blues for the first time in a decade... come on you Irons!
I will blow bubbles too
Also underway at the DW
Surely Bob is clean now!
Andy Carroll wins a free kick off a challenge from Sideshow and Ricky Vaz Te shoots the free kick well over.
I'm back from a refreshing shower and shave. Blowing bubbles and whatever Fulham fans do for luck.
Surely cleaner than any Fat Sam Side!
Anyone else still hoping that Andy Carroll becomes the first choice striker for England? Call me old school, but I like the cut of his jib.
I am rooting for Spurs to finish above Chelsea and Citeh!
welcome back, Bob. Also wigan vs the Toon from the DW
Bale is out for the second half
Dempsey is coming on after injury
Fulham fans gets some boos ready!
Dawson came off hurt
The second half is underway from WHL/ I would like spurs to finish above Chelsea. Not rooting for Carroll for England. I think he's about to become another Ivanhoe.
I suppose that the Gooner would be reasonably pleased with 0-0 draws in both of these matches but he'll be dreaming of Fulham and Hammers wins.
Nearly the lead for Chelsea as Demba Ba shot wide with just the keeper to beat
Dreadful miss from Ba when he was clean through on goal. Only Fernando Torres enjoyed that in the Chelski camp.
