Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

You Be the Judge...

AEK Athens midfielder Georgios Katsidis has been banned for life from the Greek national side after having apparently celebrated a goal at the weekend with the Nazi straight arm salute picture above. Katsidis, who is also under pressure from being shopped by his club, immediately went to Twitter - the last vestige of guilty footballers - to plead his innocence and ignorance of the meaning of the salute. What say you, LOBers - is it possible that Katsidis is stupid enough not to know that he was doing a Nazi salute or should be thrown to the wolves?

This is an easy, straight forward decision. I say throw him to the wolves, literally. I believe he knew exactly what he is doing. It stated in the article that his clubs and the Greek FA are considering separate sanctions. He should be banned for life from football period. This salute happened to occur on the 70th anniversary that Jews were deported to Nazi concentration camps and coincides with the rise of a fascist party in Greece. He is stupid, but he knew what he was doing.

Agreed. He knew what he was doing, but even if he didn't, the pelvic tat "Get Rich Or Die Trying" is worth a very lengthy ban.
