Wahay - the FSC coverage has started!
The team news for this afternoon's match:
Wigan - Joel, Boyce, Caldwell, Scharner, Espinoza, McCarthy, Watson, McArthur, Maloney, McManaman, Kone.
Subs - Al Habsi, Jones, Di Santo, Henriquez, Gomez, Stam, Golobart
Swansea - Vorm, Tiendalli, Monk, Williams, Davies, Rangel, Britton, De Guzman, Routledge, Schecter, Hernandez.
Subs - Tremmel, Bartley, Taylor, Dyer, Moore, Agustien, Donnelly.
Wigan get us underway in the most important match of their season. They need the three points desperately.
In the other meaningless match today, an understrength Citeh kick off against West Brom.
A nervy start from Wigan, which is understandable given the situation.
All the danger seems to be coming through Callum McManaman down the right hand side against Davies.
Kone has pop from distance but Vorm had his body behind it.
The referee spares Vorm's blushes after he takes too long to clear his lines.

Maloney tries a chip but gets it all wrong. Still - Wigan are creating a few chances early doors. Good signs for them.

Beausejour isn't really being missed as Swansea haven't attacked much.

And there's the half-time whistle. Wigan go in leading 1-0 and it's hard imagining Swansea coming back now.
So, Newcastle drop into the relegation zone, on 38 points and -23 GD. Norwich have -22 GD and Wigan now have -21 GD. Wow!
A Wigan win today also bring all of those on 40 points back into this relegation dogfight in a big way. That means that Fulham and Villa on 40 and Southhampton on 39 are in real danger.
Back on for the second half of this crucial Premiership match.
Wigan's last two matches are away to Arsenal and and crucially at home to Villa.

In truth, Swansea came out of the dressing room the brighter and they've punked the Latics straight away. Back to the drawing board for Martinez and co.

Fifteen minutes left for Wigan to find that miraculous third goal - I wouldn't put it past them.

Coming down to what should be a lengthy period of stoppage time.
Points are precious at this point. Wigan need a goal.
Oh - Kone nearly fashions an equalized. Decent chance.
Stam's not going to be able to continue. They need to throw another player on.

That's that - a match that Wigan really needed three points from and they've thrown it away. One more nail in their coffin.

Hiya, MUR - it definitely looks that way. But Wigan aren't completely out of it.
