In the other match, Porto have opened up an aggregate lead of 2-1 at home to Basel. Brahimi with the goal for the Portugeezers.
I would have joined earlier , but I was running off tests and had to do a page at a time because the collater/stapler is not working.I might have seen the Schalke goal.
I was thinking of that as the dullest tie of the round, but it may provide some late drama.
Leroy Sane is on for Chupo-Moting as RDM is forced to make an early change for Schalke.
There is one match in the Championship as the Seagulls are visiting the Reading Railroad.
The starting XIs for this one:

Skippy is booked for what I thought was a minor foul. More because the Schalke player made the most of it.
I think that Championship match has little bearing on either end of the table as both teams are well clear of the relegation zone.
Schalke need to score twice without reply from Real to go through top the next round.
Bale has a left footed effort easily saved by wellenreuter.
Still 0-0 in that Championship clash.
Oh - Huntelaar should have capitalized on that mistake from Varane.
Schalke nearly scored off a poor backpass, but Varane cleared off the line.
Real looking a bit more jittery and brittle than I'd expected tonight. If not for Ronaldo wonder header, they'd be on pins and needles.
Sorry. Varane with the horrible back pass. The Hunter definitely should have scored.

Wasn't that well deserved. The shot came in from Fuchs and was merely parried by Casillas who should have done better. Huntelaar merely mopped up proceedings.

Casillas isn't exactly a top keeper. I blame him for both goals.The first goal was shot right at him and he fumbled for the second goal
Bale coughs up the ball on the edge of the box and he manager won't like that.
If Casillas isn't a top keeper than why is he's Spain's #1 and Real's #1?
It could also be the way the balls are designed because they swerve and dip .
I think De Gea should be Spain's number 1. I even rate Adrian higher than him. I think Casillas starts due to politics. He has been in poor form the last few years.,

Benzema played a nice one two with Coentrao then ran across the box past a few defenders then shot past the keeper.
Great composure from Benzema as he jinked his way through the Schalke defense and finished with aplomb.

Agreed. I don't see Schalke coming back they need to score three times without Real scoring.
Coentrao was not so tranquil as he was booked for holding back Tranquillo Barnetta

The main match tomorrow is a tale of two cities as Chelsea hosts PSG whether it be the best of times or the worst of times.
The Schalke keeper did well to tip over a long range effort from Toni Kroos, then Bale shot over from the corner.
That tie must surely be done and dusted. This one is despite a gallant effort from Schalke.
The Seagulls tie it up at Reading.
