Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good morning , Bob. The coffee just finished brewing.
Morning, chaps. It's been a dodgy start to the BEin coverage with the Yank announcer referring to "DURby County" rather than "DARby County." It can only get better.
The match at Derby, which is not a Derby is between two sides that have drawn every league match so far this season. Both teams are doing community service?
I noticed that moment of ignorance. It should improve once they go off to the UK feed.another mispronounciation.
The teams in the tunnel now at whatever they're calling the Baseball Ground now:
Derby: Carson, Forsyth, Keogh, Hendrick, Martin, Russell, Baird, Shackell, Ince, Hanson, Thorne. Subs: Grant, Dawkins, Bent, Pearce, Weimann, Shotton, Warnock.
Leeds: Silvestri, Berardi, Cooper, Bamba, Taylor, Adeyemi, Cook, Mowatt, Byram, Dallas, Wood. Subs: Turnbull, Wootton, Bellusci, Murphy, Phillips, Doukara, Antenucci.
Referee: D Bond
Morning, MUR - great to have you on board for the proceedings.
We're about set to go and I'm heading to the kitchen to brew up a cuppa.
Cheers Bob. MOT!
COME ON YOU YELLOWS!
They're off from Derby, not Durby
Lee Cook kicked off for Leeds. I hope he cooks up a winning recipe,
Inches over by Chris Wood off a nice possession from Leeds. he was set up by Sam Byram
I'll hope that anyone can cook up a win. Unfortunately, Cook has only managed elbow an opponent early doors.
Wood is the danger man for us this season.
Richard Keogh is off for treatment due to a bloody forehead off a high boot from Lee Cook.
I'm sure the bookies are predicting a draw as both teams have drawn every league match this season.
There should be several minutes of stoppage time.
Play resumes as Richard Keogh , bandaged like a mummy changes jerseys and dons the shirt with no name.
It smells like a draw early doors, for sure.
This is the fourth match that I've seen Leeds live this season - and we're not even out of August!!
Unless there are some late dramatics.
Once this match concludes then Leeds will be off for a fortnight.
That is definitely a reason to have BEIN. Once the international break is over, Leeds host the BEES at ER while we have a biggie vs Pool at Anfield!
Good Leeds pressure now.
Leeds win the first corner of the match as it's taken short and Mowatt has a shot blocked. It ends with a foul by Sol Bamba,.
Chris Wood has a shot blocked for a corner off some dodgy defending by the Rams.
Stuart Dallas launches an effort halfway there as Mowatt took the corner short. the two short corners have not been successful.
I hope Leeds Ram one home against their opponents.
Another free kick wasted by Alex Mowatt. Hit the first man. We have to take advantage of our pressure.
Tom Ince concedes a free kick by the touchline.Mowatt takes the free kick that is headed away by the first man.
I'm glad to see that we're reverted to our traditional bright yellow away kit rather than last year's strange gold number.
I noticed that BEIN is showing another Championship match. It's at 10 AM : Ipswich vs Brighton from PR.
Oh - long ball from Bamba finds Dallas alone but the midfielder handled it as he tried to control it.
Well in, BEin - why not show more exciting Championship fare.
I prefer the yellow kit as it looks more a Leeds kit.
I will definitely sacrifice a Prem match for that match between two teams that are off to a great start
Dangerous ball over there from Russell and Ince nearly got there. Whew - close call.
The news for the early Prem match is Kos in, Ozil out.
I've got the NBC Sports Network coverage up and running for the Arsenal v. Newcastle match now. Here are the teams:
Newcastle: Krul, Janmaat, Mbemba, Coloccini, Haidara, Colback,
Anita, Thauvin, Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Mitrovic.
Subs: Cisse, De Jong, Obertan, Perez, Tiote, Darlow, Taylor.
Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin,
Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, Sanchez, Walcott.
Subs: Debuchy, Gibbs, Arteta, Giroud, Ospina, Chambers, Campbell.
Referee: Andre Marriner (W Midlands)
Craig Forsyth concedes a free kick to Leeds.
Another free kick - come on!
Some fairly uninspired Championship play there with Carson hoofing the ball straight back down the other end.
The free kick from Mowatt is curled straight to Scott Carson, the former Leeds keeper.
I agree. It hasn't been the greatest first half as Charlie Taylor concedes a corner to the Rams. The corner from Ince is headed away as the Rams start to exert themselves.
Now Derby are trying to press their advantage. Good defending from us, though.
In noticed that Born in the USA is showing Chelsea vs Palace. I'm not sure which match is being shown by NBCSN
Better from Derby and Sol Bamba has to concede a corner.
Berardi goes straight through the back of Martin and he's lucky not to be booked for it.
NBC are showing a documentary tomorrow called "Inside the Mind of Jose Mourinho." I'm not sure I need to go there
Chris Martin headed home the free kick from Johnny Russell as the two Scottish internationals combined.
I agree. NBC should call it the Abyss or the Outer Limits.
I didn't that NBCSN is into science fiction.
The teams are in the tunnel at SJP.
I wonder if the Gooner will be watching the match with your dad during brekkies.
Looks like Jack Colback is the only British player that's on the Newcastle line-up today. How things have changed!
Yeah - they should be looking forward to this one.
Lewis cooked up a cornmer off the mummy.
Another poor corner that is easily cleared.
We need a big push to score at the end of the half.
They sure have . Steve Taylor , who has started and Darlow , the backup keeper, are two English players on the subs bench. Arsene is bold as he starts two British players and has two on the bench
Teams looking very chummy in the tunnel at SJP. Colocinni and Cazorla sharing some laughs.
They're off from SJP.
The yellows need to Ram one home before the half.
Oh - Cooper nearly found Wood with a little dink into the area.
The Gunners attack early , but the one two between the Ox and Ramsey doesn't quite work.
Oh dear - it seems that I'm a bit behind the action with my NBC Sports feed. They haven't kicked off yet!
An early booking at SJP as Sissokho gets a yellow from Andre Marriner. it won't be smooth sailing for the French international the remainder of the match.
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
Adeyemi scores his first goal for the Leeds boys!
WAY HAY!!!! LEEDS TAKE THE LEAD LATE IN THE HALF.
Great ball over from the short corner routine by Dallas and the big holding man rose to nod home.
0-1!
Leeds finally had a successful short corner. Stuart Dallas took it this time as he played a one two with Moiwatt then put in a fantastic cross that was headed in by Adeyemi
Great time to score - blow up, ref.
The cross was driven in by Dallas , but not from Texas.
Dallas has been a provider of a lot of the chances we've had this season. A great purchase from Brentford.
Four minutes of stoppage time.
The Yellows are pressing for a second right now - good stuff!
Dallas will face his old mates at ER in a fortnight.
Yes. Much better as you must be a happier chappy.
It's a tough run of fixtures for us in September for sure.
Another Leeds corner and will it be another goal?
It was headed away then Mowatt had a shot blocked.
You will be hoping for a win vs Derby while Gooner and dad will be hoping for a win vs Derby's former manager
Looks like all Gunners pressure at SJP.
Tim Krul did well to block a close range effort from Theo
Leeds are one up at the half . Well done.
Lovely - the interval arrives and we're 0-1 up. I'm off for a halftime cuddle with the missus.
Bellerin goes down in the box, but it was merely a tumble then the Toon go up the pitch and there is not a player up to connect with the cross from Sissokho.
well in, mate.
Alexis is knocked off the ball by Mbemba as he went on a speedy run.
The free kick is cleared.
WOW!!! The Toon are down to ten men as he sees a straight red.
That is extremely harsh as it was a mere stamp by Mitrovic on Coq Au Vin where a yellow would have been more appropriate. That brings Wally down from the stands.
It will be an uphill battle for the Toon, who were having enough difficulty with eleven players, let alone ten.
Gooner and dad must feel better about their team's chances.
Mbemba is booked for a foul on Alexis on the break. The Toon are really lacking discipline today
The locals are letting Andre Marriner know what they think of his performance. I would say it's dodgy at best.
Marriner gives Collocini a lecture that his team needs to stop the continuous fouling as it's a foul by Colback this time. I'm not sure why Wally is complaining
Into the wall by Alexis.
I'm a good five minutes behind the live play on the NBC Sports Network link so I'm rebooting the channel.
Mbemba clears for the first corner of the match
Krul catches the corner from Caz.
welcome back. The Toon are down a man as it's been a thuggish display from the home team
Mitrovic does have that reputation - was it well deserved in your mind?
Nasty from Florian Thauvin there - a deserved yellow card.
A French connection as Thauvin is booked for a foul on Coq Au Vin. Wally should invest some stocks in Hall mark or perhaps buy a franchise.
The secnd half is underway at Derby
Maybe the Toon players fancy a bite or two of Coq au Vin for their tea time?
I thought it was a harsh red. It should have been a yellow, IMHO.
We're back on at Derby - let's have more of the same, lads.
Johnny Russell shoots a long range effort just over.
Sylvester did well to tip that shot over.
The Toon are having quite a few nibbles as Mitrovic has bit off more than he can chew. The dirty boy is getting an early bath.
BUGGER ! CHRIS MARTIN TIE IT UP FOR THE RAMS.
Bloody hell - Chris Martin is allowed to turn Cooper inside out and fire home into the right corner.
1-1!
There was some nice first time passing down the left then Chris Martin got a pass from Thorne and Martin did well to turn Cooper before scoring with a great finish from the edge of the box.
Tim Krul saves a powerful long range effort from Alexis, but Theo shoots the rebound horribly wide.
We're really under the cosh now.
Oh - Hendrick could have fired in a second for Derby. Just wide.
More Rams pressure as Jeff Hendrick has a shot blocked then he shoots just wide from the D.
Ramsey wins a corner for the Gunners
The Toon are back in numbers to clear as the Gunners retain possession
Bellerin wins another corner, but a horrible from the ox is cleared by the first man.
Charlie Taylor wins a Leeds corner.
Johnny Russell clears the corner and the Rams break
Now Derby have a corner. The corner from Ince is headed away
Uwe is trying to gee up the troops during the water break.
Two minutes of stoppage time from SJP.
Naughty by Alexis on Colback, but not a booking
Another good save by Silvestri there from Russell's volley.
It's 0-0 at the half at SJP as there is a chorus of boos from the home fans aimed at Andre MArriner. I'm sure Gooner and dad will not be pleased that The Gunners did not test Tim Krul despite a man advanatage for almost the entire first half.
Bram goes off replaced by Murphy.
Uwe makes a change as Luke Murphy is on for Sam Byram
Nasty from Taylor - lucky to escape a card.
Byram won't be happy with that. He'd prefer to play at right back but Rosler has been pushing him up into a wing back position that he doesn't seem comfortable with.
He was lucky, Then Dallas drove a left footed effort wide, but not from Texas nor in a Cooper.
Hendrick is lucky to escape a card as well.
Will both teams maintain their perfect record of drawing every league match this season?
Agreed. Sam is an excellent right back. He's not suited to that position, but Luke Murphy may be
PHEW!!! A superb reflex save by Silvestri from Weimann on a Derby break
Quick break by Derby and a let off for Leeds.
Come on, you Whites (Yellows)!
Leeds are fortunate not to be behind as Weimann got behind the Leeds defense and should have scored with just Silvestri to beat
Silvesteri should be called Sylvester due to his cat like reflexes.
While there was a stoppage in the satellite feed, Chris Wood headed over from, close range with a free header.
Well, well, well - it's Darren Bent off the bench coming on for Derby.
Bob must be feeling better about Leeds's chances as the erratic Darren Bent is on for Johnny Russell, who put in a decent shift. Neil Clement is going for it .
The second half is underway from SJP while Chris Baird clumsily fouls Lewis Cook.
It is currently 1-1, the most common result for Leeds in the early stages of the season.
We have been reasonably stingy about goals at both ends this season.
Another Toon booking as Anita goes into the book. Andre Marriner has observed that the Toon are sailing on some choppy seas today
That is true. The on exception was the match at Ashton Gate.
A first booking for the Gunners . it appeared to be Ramsey. Jack Colback with some comments for Andre Marriner. He would do well to shut it as the Toon cannot afford to go down another man.
Darren Bent is offside for the millionth time in his career.
Another promising move comes to a weak end with Mirco's cross to Carson.
GOAL !!! THE GUNNERS FINALLY TAKE THE LEAD AT SJP.
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!
What a strike from Chris Wood!!!!
GOAL !!! CHRIS WOOD GIVES LEEDS A LATE LEAD FOR WHAT MAY BVE THERE THEIR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
I missed that Arsenal goal while celebrating our goal.
Now hang on to it, lads. MOT!
Five minutes of stoppage time as the excellent Lewis Cook passed to Chris Wood , who scored with a sueprb finish at the edge of the D. It started with a long clearance from Sylvetsr that found Antenucci and he passed Cook , who set up Wood.
Come on - settle it now.
The Ox was a fox in the box as Caz had a shot blocked , then Krul saved a powerful effort from Ramsey , then the Ox scored the rebound in the corner from a narrow angle. It came off a long Gunners possession.
We're giving the ball away too cheaply here.
Lewis Cook assisted on that goal as Bob tastes a first victory of the season
Murphy corner flags it for a moment.
Krul makes a kick save at his near post as he's keeping the Toon in this match
Woody picks up a valuable foul to waste a bit of time.
The final minute as Leeds win a free kick and can run more time off the clock
Lovely jubbly - our first win of the season. Kate is delighted about it.
It's over and Leeds win their first match of the season as they win 1-2 at Pride Park in a hard fought win. Congrats mate.
Congrats to Kate too as I imagine she is delighted for the fact that Leeds won, not because Giroud is on the bench
Kate wants everyone to know that she made some intelligent comments about how Leeds were giving the ball away too easily at the end of that winning effort.
Well in Kate. She is definitely a footie connoisseur.
Kate should be delighted as Giroud is about to come on.I would take off Theo and that is exactly what has transpired.
Giroud's first involvement is to be flagged offside.
AN attacking switch by Wally as Ayoze is on for Anita.
I wonder if that goal will go down as a Collocini OG instead of being credited to the OX. It deflected off his heel as it may have been heading wide.
Back with a bagel for the end of this one. Arsenal hanging on to their stereotypical one-nil lead.
Haidara tackles Ox for a corner.
Welcome back. A win at the Rams with a late winner from Wood, the Kiwi calls for a celebration with some New Zealand lamb.
Good to hear some old school Geordie talk from Chrissy Waddle on this broadcast.
Giroud shoots straight at Krul off a pass from Nacho.
Giroud has a snapshot there but Krul smothers it.
Yes. He's the perfect person for match in this part of Blighty.
Arteta coming on to batten down the hatches for the Arse.
This match should have been done and dusted with the Gunners a man up almost the entire match.
Gooner and dad should feel better about getting a victory as Wally is about to send on Over Ran
Arteta is no for the Ox. as the Gunners are now holding on to a lead.
It's George Graham style stuff for the Gunners now.
Krul; clears out for a corner off a run from Bellerin
Back to the good old days.
Colback fouls Coiq Au Vin about thirty yards from goal as it's an all French swap with Overran on for Thauvin.
Krul easily saves the free kick from Alexis
Sorry . it was from Caz.
Alexis has a shot deflected for a corner off a pass from Ramsey
Nacho volleys straight to Krul off the corner from Caz.
We're up to seventh on the strength of that win. And the good news is that we're unbeaten in six matches this season.
Three minutes of stoppage time as the Gunners have a free kick
Congratulation. It's looking good for Leeds.
Another Toon booking as Collocini fouls Coq Au Vin.
