Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie Trivia Question of the Week!

Here's a corking trivia question to get us started with our weeks:

"There are 23 different last names for clubs in the Football League (e.g., "United"). How many of the 23 can you name?"

Good lad, chaps!

Love these type of questions
Now... off the top of my head

1. United... of course
2, City
3. Rovers
4 Villa
5. Town
6. Argyle
7. Wednesday
8. Alexander
9. Wanderers
10. County
11. Athletic
12. Hotspur
13. Albion
14. North End
15. Rangers
16. Stanley?

Hope I got most of them right
Some are iffy... Palace shouldn't be one because it is a place in London
Vale ?

Well done, mate. You got all 16 of those (although it's "Alexandra" as in Crewe rather than "Alexander"). You also got a few others that you questioned:

17. Palace
18. Vale

The answers are rather literal, so several of the missing five are just literally the last words in a club's title. I hope that's enough of a hint.

Well done, guys. You've got the four remaining fairly easy ones.

19. Forest
20. Dons
21. Orient
22. Redbridge (a bit cheeky, really)

The last one I don't think anyone will get so I'll give it to you.

It's Bournemouth, since their first name is technically AFC. I know, I know. Still, a fun quiz. Thanks for playing.
