Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

FA Cup Fifth Round 2017

Burnley v Lincoln
Fulham v Tottenham
Blackburn v Manchester United
Sutton v Arsenal
Middlesbrough v Oxford
Wolves v Chelsea
Huddersfield v Manchester City
Millwall v Derby/Leicester

The draw for the Fifth Round of the FA Cup was made earlier today with Gareth Southgate drawing for the home team and a surprisingly dapper looking Robbie Savage drawing for the away team. It's the first time that two non league teams have made it to the Fifth Round in the same season , and both were rewarded with Premier League opposition. Burnley would do well not to underestimate Conference Leaders, Abe Lincoln, who have eliminated two Championship teams while Bob would do well to inform the Gooner that a trip to the plastic pitch at London SW, can be a surprisingly tricky proposition. It is interesting to note that none of the ties features teams from the same division.  Bob and Kate will probably not be gracious hosts to the visiting Spuds  while UWS and I should be pleased about our trip to nearby Ewood Park against Championship strugglers, Blackburn. Any opinions?

The 3rd and 4th Rounds didn't have much appeal to the eye when the draw was made. You can't say that about the 5th Round
Sutton hosting the Arse... a hammering it will be but what a day
The other non leaguers get a Premier League team
League 2 Millwall and Oxford will think they could progress
A London derby at Bob and Kate's place
Both Manc teams on the road. I prefer United's draw to City's

A good set of games!

I won't be around for this week's games. I will also be at a Mathcounts competition with a bunch of math geeks(which I am not one) on Saturday
Talk to you on Sunday

Sutton v. Arsenal?

I hope that the Gunners can hand out a real hammering to those non-league upstarts. Of course, if we'd got through that one, I'd have expected them to do the same thing to us (sigh)....
