The Confeds Tournament Concludes
The Confeds Cup concludes with both the Third Place match and the Final. Both are rematches of group matches that ended in a draw. The Third Place match starts at 8 AM EDT with Portugal vs Mexico from Moscow, where next year's World Cup Final will be played. The final is Germany vs Chile from St. Pete. Join me if you're up!

Raffa Marquez is skippering Mexico and Bob's beloved Nani is skippering Portugal. Skippy is absent due to family reasons
The Third Place match has kicked off from Moscow. Mexico in all white and Portugal in their traditional all maroon.
Uribe Peralta wins an early corner.
As it turns out he did not.
Skippy out due to the birth of twins: One boy and one girl. Young Gelson Martins replaces him in the starting lineup.
Portugal win an early free kick.The free kick is off a one man wall for a corner.
The VAr is being used as Raffa Marquez clearly appeared to foul Andre Silva in the box off a superb pass from the halfway line from Moutinho.
AND PENALTY!!!! WELL DONE VAR!
Marquez booked, but he should have been sent off.

OH!!! Chicha nearly scores as he collected a pass from Carlos Vela and cut in. Rui Patricio superbly tipped over a pile driver from Chicha.

Great combo play between Moutinho and Andre Silva as Moutinho played Andre Silva down the left and hios cross was headed on by Moutinho that led to the header from Martins producing that great save from Ochoa . The a corner from Pizzi resulted in another missed sitter from Nani.
Carlos Vela with a volley just wide after a cross from Hirving Lozano was headed out.
Like for like as Quaresma is on for Nani, who hands the Captain's armband to Moutinho.

It was from open play and the first decent cross of the match from Quaresma and Pepe with a superb volley that would have made Skippy proud.

Portugal is not stranger to ET as three out of four knockout matches on their way to the Euro triumph went that way and bot have this tournament. That's five out of six if you'e keeping track.

He seems to need an awful lot of chances to score but he does get himself into scoring positions a lot. If he has another good Bundesliga season, he might be a Miroslav Klose type for the Germans and a decent shout for the Golden Boot.
