A Busy Sunday Morning Headed Into the October International Break
It's a busy Sunday Morning that starts with a 9 AM triple header with Citeh vs Wolves on NBCSN, the Gunners vs the Cherries on CNBC , and thanks to UWS you can watch Saints vs Chelsea on Gold. It's a quiet end of the day with the Toon vs United kicking off on NBCSN at 11:30 M. That will be the final Prem action for nearly a fortnight. Join me if you can

Morning, MUR - thanks for getting us going this morning. Given the European schedule, the big boys are all playing this morning. Should be fascinating.
The teams coming out at the Etihad:
Manchester City (an implacable 4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Cancelo; Rodri, Gundogan, D.Silva; Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling. Subs: Bravo, Jesus, Zinchenko, Angelino, B.Silva, Foden, Garcia.
Wolverhampton Wanderers (a formulaic 3-5-2): Rui Patricio; Boly, Coady, Saiss; Dendoncker, Joao Moutinho, Vinagre, Neves, Traore; Cutrone, Jimenez. Subs: Ruddy, Doherty, Vallejo, Bennett, Gibbs-White, Jonny, Kilman.
Good morning, Bob. Great to join you for a busy Sunday morning. Will be watching three matches at once on a busy start to the day
WOW ! A real upset in the SPL as Livingston defeated Celtic 2-0. Stevie G's Rangers will go top with a win vs George Hamilton Academical
I've also got the Arsenal match on the PIP.
They're off from the EM
Then from St. Mary's
And then from the Etihad
I can't be arsed to watch the Chelsea match. They're not very good.
OH!!! A shot from NAthan Redmond was just a couple of inches over. That would have been a shock lead
As I remember, Wolves really pushed City in both matches last season. I'd love to see that again.
The late match between Toon and United featuring two out of form sides. Not a good way to head into the break
Some incisive play from City and Aguero has an early chance blocked.
That's correct. They drew at Molineaux and Citeh won 3-0 at the Etihad, but Wolves played most of that match with ten men and it would have been much closer with 11 vs 11.
A good win at St. James's Park would be a tonic for you lot going into the break.
Ryan Bertrand wins a Saints corner against the team where he started his career
The corner from JWP headed out and Hoijberg with a shot that lands in Row J
Aubama has a shot curled just wide as Shane Long wins another Saints corner
Oh - a chance there for Cutrone, but he fluffed it.
Wolves with a rare chance and it's shot wide
Agreed, Bob. Brucie is a United legend and mates with OGS, but we cannot do him any favors. We need a win that we cannot guarantee even at the out of form Toon
GOAL !!!! SIDE SHOW BOB GIVES THE GUNNERS THE LEAD OFF A CORNER
The corner was curled in, he lost his marker , and easily headed into the corner
That is Pre Saiss ly what Wolves did not need as their central defender is down and may not be able to continue
It looks like one of the Wolves defenders has done his hammy. He'll have to come off.
Tammy Abraham with a shot comfortably saved by Angus Gunn. Nice ball down the right by Azpi to Hudson-Odoi and he laid it off for Abraham
Well done, the Arsenal. A great start for them.
Jorginho with his requisite booking as he cynically fouls Shane Long
If Tammy Abraham continues to score goals, could he find his way into the England squad for the Euros?
Agreed. The Cherries were more like Thelma N Luiz when defending that corner
Yikes he's still down. It's going to be Ryan, not Roger Bennett to come on for Saiss
Ryan Bennett is putting the sports bra on and is about to replace Sais.
Correct, Bob. I think Abraham could force his way into the squad , especially, if one of the England strikers is out of form this season. That's the value of depth
Well, if United were to purchase a superstar striker who pushed Rashford out of the starting line-up, he might have to make way.
Just a reminder , England have two qualifiers in Eastern Europe this week. At Prague on Friday, which will be on Plus and playing in Transylvania a week from tomorrow.
GOAL !!TAMMY ABRAHAM GIVES CHELSEA THE LEAD. A LONG BALL FROM WILLIAN FOUND TAMMY ABRAHAM BEHIND THE SAINTS DEFENSE. HE CHIPPED ANGUS GUNN AND YOSHIDA CLEARED IT INCHES AFTER IT CROSSED THE LINE. CHELSEA IN THE LEAD
OH!!! Nearly a second for the Gunners and curled inches wide by Joe Willock
OH!!!! Nice double save by Ederson on a Wolves counter. Thought they took the lead.
Actually, the replay showed that the first shot was a nice defensive block
Tammy is putting pressure on leading scorer Aguero.
Oh - Raul broke through and Ederson had to save at his feet.
Cursing in the Streets of Alex? Surely , Rico fouled Pepe in the box. Martin Atkinson waiting for the VAR check. No penalty. How is that? It was a stonewall penalty. Steve and Simon have a right to feel aggrieved.
Wolves are pushing City now - Traore did well to get to the by-line and pulled back a teasing ball.
GOAL !!!MASON MOUNT PUTS CHELSEA TWO UP. A LONG CLEARANCE FROM ANGUS GUNN WAS HEADED BACK, THEN A POOR SAINTS DEFENSIVE HEADER FOUND JORGINHO , WHO PASSED TO WILLIAN. HIS NICE THROUGH BALL FOUND MASON, WHO MOUNTED AND GUNNED CHELSEA TO A TWO GOAL LEAD WITH A GREAT FINISH
Ralph , looking Ralphie from a Christmas Story and Gunn , his keeper , is making him think of that BB Gunn.
Nearly a third for Chelsea as Abraham cuts back to Mount, not on the Mount, and he shoots inches over.
How about Mason Mount, mate? Abraham on the Mount as stated in Genesis!
Sterling pushed down by Dendoncker while Ramsdale in the Cherries goal is down
Gundogan with a free kick well wide of the mark.
GOAL !!!DANNY INGS PULLS ONE BACK FOR THE CHERRIES.VALERY TOOK A THROW AN GOT THE BALL BACK. THEN HE WENT PAST FOUR CHELSEA PLAYERS BEFORE HE PASSED TO DANNY IN GS TO TOE POKE IT IN FROM SIX YARDS OUT. NOW 1-2
A Saints free kick from the training ground. Taken short near the halfway line then chipped behind the Chelsea defense and Redmond shoots into the side netting from an acute angle.
That goal was the earliest Prem goal of the season. The shot from Ings took a deflection off of Zouma and may be credited as an OG
You should be watching the match on Gold. It's the most open of the three Prem matches
Rui Patricio does well to turn a way a long range Citeh shot , while Ramsdale comfortably saves from Bakayo Saka
Valery wins a Saints corner . A great block by Zouma off the Saints corner
Great defensive header by Conor Coady to clear the danger in the six yard box
GOAL !!!KANTE SCORES WITH A LONG RANGE DEFLECTED EFFORT TO PUT CHELSEA 1-3 UP. BALL PLAYED WIDE LEFT TO MARCOS ALONSO AND IT WAS PASSED BACK TO KANTE, WHO HAD A SHOT TAKE WICKED DEFLECTION OFF OF HOIJBERG
It sounds like it. I'm still enjoying the City v. Wolves though. It's a fascinating battle.
Loads of goal there at St. Mary's.
VAR checking for possible penalty to the Gunners . Nothing doing
A pair of stoppage time minutes at the EM
The same at St. Mary's.
OH!! Danny Ings nearly scored again for the Saints. Shot past the Kepa , but Jorginho cleared off the line
Same amount of stoppage time at the Etihad
Gunners one up at the half
Chelsea lead 1-3 at the half at St. Mary's
Citeh being held 0-0 at the half by Wolves
Half-time at 0-0 at the Etihad. Tight match this one.
Second half underway from the EM
Now underway from St.Mary's
Then from the Etihad
Nice bonus coverage there from NBC.
Hey Boys
Morning, UWS - how's your weekend going?
Apparently Arsenal might have had a penalty there. Pepe brought to the turf.
Been busy
Picked up my niece from Jersey yesterday
Probably going to Lake George this afternoon
OH!!! Thought the Cherries equalized . Rounded Jay Leno , but the shot cleared off the line
Then Hudson-Odoi through for Chelsea and a kick save with just Angus Gunn to beat
Rodri picks up a yellow for breaking up that breakaway.
Good morning, UWS. Sounds like a great day
One of Lisa's kids, UWS?
Rangers take an early lead vs George Hamilton and are top of the table for the first time in nearly a decade.
DL became the 8th player to score for Arsenal and Chelsea in the Prem
Who are the other 7?
No, Kathy's twin brother's daughter from San Diego
Liverpool players must be loving this match. City look totally out of ideas without KDB in the team.
Alpha Romeu lectured for illegally driving into Willian
City are boring
Jay Leno tips over a near post effort from Harry Wilson
Great question, UWS. I'll start us off with an obvious one:
Olivier Giroud.
Who said this? United are boring. Fred is boring. Matic is boring.
I'm going with Cashely Cole
Steve Bruce will manage his 400th Prem game today
There are six others!
Who
Kante fouls Redmond in the D
Just call me Mr Trivia
Kate loves how English commentators make an effort to pronounce foreign players names but get them all wrong.
Case in point, this bloke just said:
"Dah-vid Sil-ver." Closer to the Spanish pronunciation would be "Dah-veed Seel-vah."
Arse/Chel
2 down
5 to go
I know of SAF, Arsene, ,and Sir Bobby
How about Lee I o nel Messi
It's just Lionel as Ritchie
Free kick from JWP well over.
No with Sir Bob
How about Emmanuel Petit?
Tammy Abraham with a powerful shot from the D saved by Angus Gunn
Bad boy Bernie Sanders is coming on to replace Mahrez now.
Did Wally in a Brolly manage 400 plus Prem matches??
No
Bob's stopped guessing
I'm still trying with both questions
You can always be counted on David
Jose for 400 +
Nope
David Luiz scored for both Arsenal and Chelsea?
How about Cesc Fabregas?
Yup
The Lurker has hit one on the head
Duh...he just became #8... it was part of the question
Let me know when you want the answers
Silver off the crossbar
There was an African player (or was he French?) who played at center back for both Arse and Chelsea and scored some goals. Can't think of his name right now but it'll come to me.
How about Roy Hodgson?
Nope
This one could easily end up 0-0, which would just be ticketyboo for me.
Can't believe how Spurs were beaten yesterday...
By Brighton Munich
They said that the seven conceded against Bayern were the most conceded at home in their entire history
How about Tony Pulis?
Ooh - it just came to me!
Willy Gallas!
10 - Spurs have conceded 10 goals in their last two matches. It is the first time they have done so since December 1997, when they lost 6-1 to Chelsea before going down 4-0 to Coventry.
Definitely him, for sure.
well done Bob
no so much David
Want the answers?
WOW !!!!! I remember that 7-0 loss at Anfield, but not the one's in December of '97
Not liking United's line up!
I'm thinking Nic Anelka as well. He definitely scored for both sides but was it in the Premiership era? Not sure.
Man Utd XI: De Gea, Dalot, Tuanzebe, Maguire, Young, Fred, McTominay, Pereira, Mata, James, Rashford.
Bob's on fire
How about Martin O'Neill? Was sure about Pulis
How about Fat Sam?
Surely, I just sparked a flame
Yes David
That's all I've got. Petr Cech definitely didn't score any goals We got:
1. David Luiz
2. Emmanuel Petit
3. Cesc
4. William Gallas
5. Olivier Giroud
6. Cashley
Who are the two others. Answers please!
Pulisic on for ten plus minutes in place of Hudson-Odoi
Wolves take the lead!!!
WOW ! Wolves take the lead at the Etihad
GOAL! Traore has just lit up Merseyside with that goal. City's title defense is in tatters!
Classic smash and grab. Raul Jimenez won the ball deep in the Citeh half. He went on a long run and laid it off for Adama Traore to score with just Ederson to beat
Marvelous! It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming.
The LOB Shield is coming home!
Wolves won in the last minute of stoppage time with a goal at Gala on Thursday. Two 0-1 wins in four days?
Chelsea's third change and still no Politic
Wolves proof that the EL Hangover cannot be used as an excuse. They traveled further than any Prem team this week.
I'm giving answers before I go on Walkies
Sorry, I missed the Yank coming on
Pulisic came on about five minutes ago. I think he replaced Hudson-Odoi
No probs, mate.
I don't want Liverpool to win the title for obvious reasons but I do like how they play and I like Klopp and I hate the way City play and I hate Pep and I don't want them to win three then four titles in a row!
Bob won 4-2 on players scoring, but I won 3-0 on managers. I defeated Bob 5-4 on aggregate
David Luiz is the eighth different player to score a Premier League goal for both Arsenal and Chelsea, after Olivier Giroud, Nicolas Anelka, Cesc Fabregas, William Gallas, Ashley Cole, Emmanuel Petit and Yossi Benayoun.
I agree with you on Pool and Klopp. SAF And Klopp have some similarities.
City would be eight points back on Liverpool with a loss here today. Hard to imagine them making up that gap.
Managers in the 440 Club
SAF
Wenger
Moyes
Big Sam
Redknap
Hughes
The Bat scores for the Blues
GOAL !!! BAT BOY GIVES CHELSEA A 1-4 LEAD
Assists from Pul
Bat Boy played a one two with Pulisic then dcorted past the stranded Angus Gunn
Wolves sitting back too much of course
That's a bad loss for Soton, who are perilously close to the drop zone now.
Some City fans walking
An LOB blogging trio of stoppage time at St. Mary's
So are United!
Good to see that Pulisic got on the pitch and made an impact.
The only surprise was that Benayoun scored for both teams. No surprises on the managers
5 adde minutes ... giving a big team time to score
All of this is ridiculous
Watching an old Cup Final and David Coleman saying....there's already been a MINUTE of added time...he was shocked
I think I defeated Bob 5-4 on agg. Named three managers and two players.
United aren't close to the relegation zone. They're mid-table. A good solid win today and you'll be back in contention for the Everton Cup.
LOL. They sure were better about stoppage time back then
Looks like Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester will be fighting out of the top four
Surprised the toffees are so close to the drop zone. Wonder if Mark Silvers is walking on thin ice.
Chelsea win
Sorry, I only just saw the manager question. I was enjoying some French toast, courtesy of our Kate.
Chelsea win 1-4 at St. Mary's
See my answers ?
David Luiz is the eighth different player to score a Premier League goal for both Arsenal and Chelsea, after Olivier Giroud, Nicolas Anelka, Cesc Fabregas, William Gallas, Ashley Cole, Emmanuel Petit and Yossi Benayoun.
TWO NIL WOLVES!!
It's over at the EM. One Nil to the Arsenal
Wahay! Traore scores another!!!!!
Fire Pep
GOAL !!!ADAMA TRAORE WITH HIS AND WOLVES SECOND AS THEY GO TWO UP
Last minute stoppage time goals twice in four days
So much for the EL hangover
It's over as Wolves win 0-2 at the Etihad
That's it
Wolves have beaten City at the Etihad
Wolves fans serenading Nuno and he gives them a wee wave. Lovely.
And that's it! Citeh are in tatters now.
I am off for walkies before THE BOREFEST
I'm off to the shower before the late one.
Both wolves goals classic counters with Jimenez assisting Traore. Jonny won the ball off of Rodri. He passed to Jimenez and Traore got behind Fernadinho , finishing past the stranded Ederson
Rangers two up vs George Hamilton at the half and will head off to the October break top of the SPL for the first time in nearly a decade.
I'm back for the late one. I'm hoping that United can light it up for you lot. It's about time.
Aint going to happen Robert!
Just heard on the Beeb that the Cream drummer, Ginger Baker, died
Tony remembers him well
Back for the late one as well. A United win moves them up to 7th while a Toon win moves them out of the drop zone.
I remember the band, Cream, but primarily Eric Clapton. Sad, but everyone seems to be getting old.
Teams in the tunnel now:

Manchester United: De Gea, Young, Maguire, Dalot, Tuanzebe, Fred, McTominay, Pereira, Mata, James, Rashford.
