Championship Tuesday Live!
It's a big night in the EFL Championship, with a full slate of fixtures, including of course the big one for me - my beloved Leeds United taking on table topping (for the moment, anyway) West Brom. After an indifferent few weeks of results, we need to get back on promotion track tonight with a big win against the Baggies. We've been playing well and dominating matches but we haven't been able to find the finishing touch often enough. It's time to open up the floodgates. Come on, you Whites! #MOT!
I'll be pedaling home from work early this afternoon in order to enjoy this one from the comfort of my easy chair. Join me if you've got a chance.

Good Afternoon, Bob. Here to join you for a busy afternoon of Champions League and Championship action.
RUDDY NORAH! Brugge 1-2 up in the Bernabeu. They were two up with goals from 21 year old Nigerian , emmanuel Dennis. Then Sergio Ramos pulled one back with a header. Real piling on the pressure.
Vinicius Junior, the young Brazi, on in place of Lucas Vazquez
Real on track to lose three in a row in Europe for the first time since 1985.
Minnie booked for time wasting
Casemiro put through Modric , who blasted high and wide with just Minnie to beat
Brugge's two goal hero now being substituted.
That's twice in a few minutes that Vinicius Junior has flung himself down, looking for a penalty. Why hasn't he been booked. Are Real that desperate?
Lois Openda booked for what looked a minor foul on Modric
Vormer booked for a really high boot on Hazard
Free kick fisted away by Minnie. Both Minnie and a teammate are down after colliding with each other
Real fans booing, but what do they expect. It's not as if the ref is just going to let the players lie down injured.
Percy Tau has a cross cleared for a Brugge corner.
The corner is glanced wide
Brugge captain , Wormer, is sent off for a second yellow. Looked a fair tackle, but at the last second nicked the heel of Vinicius Junior. Brugge down to ten men
GOAL !!!! DESMOND AS CASEMIRO HEADS IN THE FREE KICK KROOSED IN
A disasterous minute where Brugges went a man down and lost a late lead.
Teams in the tunnel at ER
Benzema has a shot deflected for a corner as Brugge were caught in possession
Hiya David, I'm here for Leeds today.
But your earlier post lead me to ask. Given the underwhelming coverage of the CL and they lack of LOB teams in the competition, do you really give a rat's? I know that if Arsenal qualifies next year I'll be more interested and probably more irritated by the low-energy TNT coverage.
Teams out on the pitch at ER in this promotion six pointer. Fans singing MOT. Leeds in all white like Real. The Baggies in yellow and pale green stripeich was their away kit when we lived at Lakenheath
Afternoon, mate - I'm home from work and really looking forward to this one and seeing a big win for the boys. MOT!
ABout a minute ago, Desmond was singing a Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes
Hazard booked for Real and Brugges make a stoppage time substitution just to ruin UWS's day
They're off from ER
Pablo Hernandez and Adam Forshaw are both out injured so it's an unchanged side from the weekend.
We're away!
Modric tackled for a corner as the four stoppage time minutes have been played
Oh - Klich with a great chance there stabbed goalwards and tipped around the post.
It's over at the Bernabeu and a shock as Real held to Desmond by Brugges with just a pint after two matches
Nice interplay there between Helder and Shackleton but it was behind Patrick.
Good afternoon, mate. Doing well. Thank you for asking. How are you?
Good afternoon, Steve. I'm watching the Prem teams in the CL, but that's it. The Spuds vs Bayern is the next match on TNT
In the other CL match Shakhtar won 1-2 at Atalanta with the winner scored in the 5th minute of stoppage time.
United and the Gunners played yesterday. Today it's their academy teams in the EFL Trophy. United at Abe Lincoln while the Gunners academy is at Posh
I avoid their matches in any case because they are so aggravating. But I find at this point, the CL is really underwhelming. I know Brugges got a result of sorts today, but I couldn't name even 1 of their starting XI if you put a gun to my head.
Welcome, Gooner!
Oh - that was a nice move but Klich just couldn't control the final ball.
Dallas coughed up the ball there but Ben White mopped up as usual - he's been brilliant for us this season.
Hiya, bit quiet here so I may be in more than out.
Seriously, who plays for Waxtab, Atalanta, or Brugges? It's just a competition too many at this point.
Stu gives up a free kick - looked shoulder to shoulder to me.
Stuart Dallas called for a foul on Pereira after Leeds lost the ball in midfield
Leeds counter off a poor Baggies free kick
Free kick comes to nothing and we break again. Wild swing of a clearance from the Baggies defender and it's a corner.
Nasty one there from Helder - escaped one there.
That. Could. Have. Gone. Anywhere. Lucky boy trying that kind of clearance.
A Leeds cross nearly cleared for an OG, but out for a corner
We're just beginning to click here after a scrappy first quarter of an hour.
Would have been nice if it had just flown in. I'll take em anyway I can get em.
Agreed. Steve. Too many teams until the knockout stages. You will not be impressed by TNT showing Graham Nash drinking a pint in place of giving match analysis
Spurs vs Bayern underway from Shite Fart II
Stupid foul from Ali and he's picked up a yellow. Surely he could have shepherded him out of play.
Still Shite and full of Farts, MUR?
Ali booked for a foul on Furlong. He missed by a good furlong
I really don't know if TNT has a clue or what. The coverage reminds me of the coverage right when we came out of the dark ages in the 90's. We had it so good on ESPN and now it's unwatchable.
Free kick out for a corner
Spurs get away with a smelly fart. Bayern nearly scored in the first minute. Lloris saved one on one
Surely that was a penalty! Nothing doing from the ref and then WBA broke through Robson-Kanu and Kiko handled it well. End to end stuff.
Lucky for Leeds, Robson Kanu's right foot is only good for standing. Unlucky for Leeds, the ref misses a pretty stone-wall pen.
I thought Kyle BArtley nearly gifted his former Leeds mates a penalty. That sure looked like hand ball. Cursing at the Cottage
Now it's Nathan Ferguson into the book for a nasty one. No - just a free kick.
Nathan Ferguson booked for a foul on Helder Costa
I thought so, too, Gooner.
Oh - that was a good chance but Patrick didn't really attack it with any purpose. Poor effort from him there.
Nicely worked corner but no one running in on it and then Klich got the shot all wrong.
Number One Son finished like Number four as he was through on goal and shot straight at Neuer.
Robson-Kanu isn't very good but he's the sort of striker that always worries me because he'll pop up in the wrong place.
Nice - Robson-Kanu goes into the book for a rash one on Liam.
Hal Robson-Kanu drives nastily into Mini Cooper and is booked. I've seen a red given for those
Half way through the first half. As usual, I'm happy with the way that we're playing but I want to see a goal for our efforts.
Kyle BArtley booked for a nasty foul on his return to ER. No love lost between him and his old mates. Free kick just outside the box
Oh - I thought we might have got a penalty there after some lovely stuff from Patrick. Our old friend (and Gooner's) Kyle Bartley really dived in.
Arsenal old-boy with a touch of the agriculturals.
The Baggies have picked up more bookings than trips booked by Steve this week.
Slavan has clearly been spending some time on his beard recently.
And another yellow card now Sawyers.
Romain Sawyers more like Huck Finn as he's booked for afoul from behind on Shakleton
He's not been wrong his the yellows he's used, but at this rate are there going to be enough men to see this through?
Kal over the free kick here - let's make something of it.
Kate gives the Cottagers the lead at the Mad Stad
Ben White with a nice interception there to give away a corner.
Ben White tackles Dianganna for a Baggies corner. Headed out by the first man
I'm disappointed that Slaven is back in England. More disappointed that West Brom is mounting a promotion challenge. I can't let his cheating Laurent Blanc out of captaining France in a World Cup final. Bilic should be shunned from football.
And another corner for the Baggies - not happy with all of these.
Not sure if anyone is interested, but Spurs's Number One SOn gives them the lead vs BAyern. In the word of UWS, Bayern were faffing about at the back as they gifted the ball to Cissy and he passed for Number One Son to score with a great finish
We're keeping things tight at the back but Liam has gone down. Doesn't look good.
Uh-oh, that injury looks bad. His day is done.
Fortunately, Luke Ayling is back among the subs for the first time this season.
An injury Leeds can ill afford as their Mini Cooper is down injured and will need to be replaced
Looks like Berardi to come on.
Berardi on in his place, but he's not quite as good.
Let's hope that's not a long injury for Liam.
We're looking a bit thin at the back right now, having sold both Pontus Jansson and Aapo Halme this summer. Ayling and Berardi are just coming back from injury.
Meanwhile , Josh Kimmich ties it up for Bayern with a spectacular finish from 25 yards out
Nice move leads to Klich shooting against a defender and out for a corner.
The losers bowl match in the Championship is Stoke vs Hudders. Neither team with a win. The bottom two each have two draws and seven losses.
The deliveries have been good today but no one is taking the responsibility to attack them.
That loser's bowl match should provide Bob and Steve with quite a few laughs.
Too cute by half from Kiko.
Hard to believe that Kate's goal for the Cottagers has been the only goal scored in the Championship today
YESSSSSS!!!!!
Ali is claiming it but I thought that Patrick got the final touch.
GOAL !!! LEEDS TAKE THE LEAD VS THE BAGGIES SHOT FROM ALI CAME OFF OF BAMFORD, OR DID IT?
No touch from Patrick, which was good because he was offside but it actually came last off Bartley.
It may be awarded as a Kyle BArtley OG.Congrats, Bob and you would love him, of all people to be credited with the OG
Kate scores hers and the Cottagers second at the Mad Stad as they go two up at the ten men Reading Railroad.
Boob's team and Kate's goals are the only Championship goals so far.
Kal to swing in a free kick now. Curled in nicely but Johnstone punched clear.
WBA with a free kick now. Keep it tight, boys!
Evil Ridsdale's lads take the lead at Woodie's Teesiders
I'd still give that goal to Ali, despite the commentator's comments.
Bob will be impressed that Kate has scored a hat-trick at the Mad Stad as the Cottagers go three up at the ten men Reading Railroad
Lots of Leeds affiliations in the Championship this season.
Woodie's lads tie it up vs Evil Ridsdale's lads
I'm always impressed by our Kate.
AN LOB blogging trio of stoppage time minutes at ER
Into a triad of stoppage time minutes now.
Quite right, mate and one of them helped you take the lead.
Agreed. Kate has had quite a half.
Oh - almost another own goal there - well saved by the keeper.
Oh - how did Johnstone keep those two efforts out?!
OH!! How did Leeds not go two up? Superb double save by Sam Johnstone from BAmford and Helder Costa
Patrick and Helder might have been more clinical there.
And that's half time. We troop in 1-0 up. I'm happy with the performance but I'm aware that the Baggies still carry plenty of threat in the second half.
Leeds one up at the half
All the first half Championship goals Leeds affiliations except for Kate's hat-trick
We're back on for the second half and Tyler Roberts has replaced Jamie Shackleton. MOT!
We'll need to push for more goals. We really need this home win to build up our confidence.
Kiko has been made to change his kit at half time - he was wearing yellow which clashed with WBA. Now in red.
Second half underway from ER. Bob will not be pleased that Tyler Roberts has come on for Shackleton.
Lew gave Bayern a 1-2 lead with a great finish with with the last kick of the first half
Lots of pressure from the Baggies at the start of this half.
As it stands, we're back on top of the table, with the Baggies in second and Forest in third.
Oh - Costa nearly broke through there from a long ball.
Helder Costa tackled for a corner of a long ball from Cal Phillips.
Congratulations, mate. Hopefully it's can get some more goals to seal a win.
Someone on our coaching staff has got a yellow card.
One of the Leeds assistant coaches has talked himself into the book.
Looks like you will be supervising that assistant coach in detention hall, mate
Oh - the ref let a foul go there and we nearly paid the prize. Pereyra nearly with an equalizer. Phew!
OH! Matty Phillips nearly slit in at the far post to tie it up for the baggies.
Look like a foul on Bamford. Now the baggies get a free-kick for the same exact foul
Now Kal has given away a bad foul in a dangerous area. Mark em up!
Free kick just outside the Leeds box.
Phew1 The free kick goes wide of the mark.
PHEW! The free-kick from Pereira was curled and not too far wide.
Nearly the hour mark now - we need to freshen things up a bit. The boss has one more sub to use.
You're not going to supervise that Leeds assistant coach in detention Hall,?
Great position for Tyler but his shot is woeful.
Actually, the baggies are the one freshening things up. They're going to make a double substitution.
Not a chance, mate. He's on his own.
Double substitution from Bilic now. Don't like it.
Ken Zohore on for hal robson-kanu. Matty Phillips replaced by a Croatian player.
Bob will be delighted that Blackburn has taken the lead vs Forest.
Ajayi picks up a yellow - WBA's fifth.
Ajaye Book for a nasty foul on Bamford.
Oh - Helder with a rocket well held!
Two great leeds shots blocked.
Bob will not be pleased that Forest have tied it up at Ewood Park
Great noise in the ground tonight - they want a home win!
GOAL !!! BAYERN TAKE A 1-3 LEAD AND TO ADD INSULT TO IN JURY IT'S GUNNERS OLD BOY, GNABRY , WHO SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH
Oh - Kiko with a sharp save from Pereyra.
cASILLA DOES WELL TO TURN AROUND A SHOT FROM pERRIRA.
Stupid corner there trying to catch Kiko out at the near post. Low percentage effort.
Now the ref is giving Bielsa a yellow - what's going on?
GOAL !!! STEVE WILL BE DELIGHTED THAT GNBARY HAS SCORED TWICE IN A MINUTE AS BAYERN LEAD 1-4 AT SHITE FART
And Leeds fans give him the White Stripes tribute.
And we now know Bob will not be supervising Beilsa in detention. Will his bucket be taken away?
Great block there from Kal.
Steve must be snickering as the Spuds performance stinks worse than their stinkiest farts
Oh - Patrick was in there but ruled offside. Good shot at least.
It's all getting a bit bad tempered now. Electric atmosphere not he terraces.
I don't want them dumped into the Europa for sure. Better would be for them to limp into the second round and then get completely humped and dumped.
PENALTY SPURS . NEUER PUNCHED AWAY A FREE KICK HE SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT THEN KINGSLEY COMAN TRIPPED DANNY ROSE IN THE BOX AND WAS BOOKED.
Luke Ayling about to be introduced by Bielsa.
Dangerous break there from WBA but Dallas did well.
GOAL !!! HARRY KANE IS ABEL TO SCORE TO PULL IT BACK TO 2-4 WHO DO WE NOT APPRECIATE
Minnie Mouse didn't have a bad match. Ayling on.
Bloody hell - it's Tyler Roberts coming of after less than half an hour. Must not have impressed the boss.
Bob will be pleased that the Tigers have taken the lead vs Not a Big Club
Another Kane penalty. How surprising.
Roberts is having a pout now on the bench.
Correct, Steve. He did well at the Bernabeu
Fifteen minutes to play now. Hang in there, boys.
Steve, you must be delighted that the Spuds are being thrashed and that your old boy, Gnabry scored twice in a minute to add insult to injury
Wigan take the lead vs Brum.
I regret that Gnabry was so sidelined that he decided to move from Arsenal. For nothing. Bad business.
Dangerous ball in there but fortunate the big lummox up front for WBA didn't get onto it.
The only 0-0 Championship match is the loser's bowl battle that is so humorous that Bob and Steve laughed to the point of falling out of their chairs.
Leeds fans getting impatient now.
At least the Spurs penalty was won by the LUFC Academy.
This announcer seems like a Baggies fan
Phew! Another good stop from Kiko. WBA look dangerous.
He does, doesn't he. Guilty of tempting fate.
Agreed , Steve. Gnabry would be a real asset to the Gunners
Oh - Patrick was nearly onto that one.
If Leeds win, this would be the Baggies first loss of the season
Oh - another big shout for a penalty!
OH! Sam Johnstone does well to save a powerful effort from Bamford
Oooh. Chances. This is so open
Inside the last ten minutes now.
Cottagers go up by a Barber Shop Quartet at the Mad Stad with Kate singing about scoring another goal
