A Spot of Thanksgiving Break Footer
A very good Tuesday afternoon, chaps! I'm luxuriating on the first day of my Thanksgiving break and looking forward to watching my beloved Leeds boys this afternoon. Last time out, we did the business against Luton away; today, it's Reading away and I would take another 1-2 win right from the off, ta very much. Come on, you Leeds boys! MOT!
167 Comments:
In other action tonight, we've got a full slate of Champions League matches, including Spurs hosting Olympiacos and Man Citeh hosting Shakhtar.
As a preliminary, I'm watching a really rubbishy match between Locomotiv and Leverkusen on TNT.
In other notable Championship action tonight, Swansea are away to Huddersfield, Fulham host Derby and Charlton are away to Luton.
That means that we could go top temporarily with WBA playing tomorrow.
The starting XI for the Leeds today:
Kiko, Ayling, White, Cooper, Stu, Kal, Klich, Pablo, Harrison, Tyler, Patrick.
Subs: Meslier, Douglas, Alioski, Berardi, Shackleton, Clarke, Costa.
Wahay! The coverage has started on the Plus.
Teams coming out now.
Good Afternoon, Bob. Here to support you for the action from the Mad Stad. MOT!
Ready to go now; Patrick to get us going.
MOT!
They're off from the Mad Stad. COME ON LEEDS!
Bright start with a nice cross in and Patrick just couldn't find the target with an acrobatic effort.
lEDS ATTACK FROM THE OFF AND THAT CROSS WAS aYLING AS IT WAS FAR TOO HIGH
A clash there between the Reading attacker and Kiko.
The MOTD today is actually in L1 as it's 2nd vs 1st. The Tractor Boys hosting Wycombe Wanderers , the surprising table toppers
Another nice move earns us the first order of the match.
Nice corner in but it was cleared out.
Reading Railroad counter off a Leeds corner and a cross from Meite is just in front of George Puscas.
Not good. Fulham, Swansea and Charlton have all jumped out to early leads.
Afternoon, David - I hope you're enjoying a relaxing Tuesday afternoon.
A long ball earns a cheap corner off Richards.
Olympiacos takes a surprise lead at SPurs
Poor corner from Kal that time.
Good Afternoon. Thank you. Yes I am . how about you, Bob?
Kate wanted to let you know how sorry she is for the loss of Fred. She knows how much you, Elizabeth and the girls loved him.
Please tell Kate we thank her very much. It's been a tough past couple of days as he accompanied me for brekkies every morning and would sit next to me for late night telly every night after everyone else went to bed
Cardiff, post Warny, takes the lead vs the Potters. Luton ties it up vs Charlton. It's 1-1 between the Evil Lions and Wigan
Pompey drawing 1-1 vs Rotherham as are the Black Cats vs Richard Burton
Bayern takes the lead at Red Star Belgrade. That should pretty much clinch first place in the group for them
Feeling for you at this time, mate. I know how it is to lose a loyal pet.
Hibs on top at St. Helen Mirren. Bob probably doesn't want a visual
Thanks for your support, Bob
Real takes the lead vs PSG
Nice interplay there but the final ball was off from Pablo.
Olympiakos two up at Spurs. So much for Jose's new manager boost
It's good to have Pablo back but he hasn't quite found his range of passing yet.
Harrison wins us another corner. We're starting to really dominate possession now.
Better ball from Kal this time but it's cleared out.
UWS will be pleased that Pompey have taken a 2-1 lead vs Rotherham
Ben White concedes a corner.
Patrick clears again - he's a real asset with the defensive set-ups.
Meite wins a corner for the Reading Railroad.
Nearly a great break there after the long throw.
Cottagers go two up vs the Rams
Tractor Boys take the lead vs Wycombe in that top of the table clash in L1
Terriers tie it up vs the Swans
Again - some neat interplay but not the final result.
Good stuff regarding the Swans - not so much with the Cottagers.
Tyler Roberts down receiving treatment for Leeds/.
Interesting break there but it came to nothing after Stu's misplaced drive.
Leeds counter as a cross from Chris Gunter was headed away. It comes to naught.
Helder Costa on for the injured Tyler Roberts
Helder has come on for the Injured Tyler Roberts. Like for like swap.
Another corner for us now. Come on!
Hleder Costa tackled for a Leeds corner. The out swinger misses everyone and Morrison heads out a cross from Helder Costa for another corner
Mad scramble in the Reading box and somehow cleared out.
Thought the Tractor Boys had taken the lead vs Wycombe, but it's still 0-0 at PR
Luke Ayling with a yellow card effort there on Mete.
Leeds are second cleanest side in the Championship.
Jack concedes a corner.
Ayling booked for a grab on Meite on an attempted Reading Railroad break
Great to read that Leeds is a clean team. That's a reflection on El Loco.
Phew! Good corner over and Kiko had to save sharply from a Mete header.
Former Chelsea Academy player, John Swift takes a Reading corner and a header from Mete is well gathered by Casilla.
Bayern two up at hapless Red Star Belgrade.
Free kick chance to end the half. Come on!
Omar Richards booked for a cynical foul from behind on Helder Costa on an attempted Leeds break
Big shout for handball there. Nothing doing from the ref.
AN LOB blogging duo of stoppage time minutes
Helder wins a corner. This one has to go in!
A correction from Belgrade. Bayern only one up. There must have been a disallowed goal
Spurs score vs Olympiacos to pull it back to 1-2
Peep peep! That's half time. I'm reasonably pleased by the way that we've been playing but we need a goal or two.
It's 0-0 at the end of a slightly disjointed half at the Mad Stad
Delle Alli sandwiched in that Spurs goal
Lots of draws in the Championship this evening. Only Fulham are taking full advantage. They're up to third on 32 points now.
Sounds like a pastrami on rye for the Spuds.
The Madejski is a nice stadium but it doesn't look like they're able to fill it these days.
Reading get us going in the second half.
Banjo Boys lads have gone to Bedfordshire as Luton now lead 2-1 and move out of the drop zone to be replaced by Woodie's lads
The second half is underway from the Mad Stad
BOOM BOOM,BAsil.Spot on with the deli jokes
Bob will be pleased that Wigan lead 1-2 at the Evil Den
Good free kick chance now. Come on!
Omar Richard fortunate not to get a second yellow for a nasty foul . Leeds players asking the ref why
I am quite happy with that scoreline at the Den.
Bamford over runs the ball and Raphael Cabral rushes out to gather
Should have had a pen there for the push on Luke Ayling.
Oh - nice knock down by Patrick but no one was running in on it.
Free kick for Leeds . Kal Phillips to take. It's really awful , but Leeds keep possession and couple of penalty appeals waved off by the ref.
Stu concedes a corner.
UWS will not be pleased that Rotherham have ties it up at Fratton Park. Now Desmond
Bob will not be pleased that the Evil Lions have scored to make it Desmond vs Wigan
Great to see Ben White getting involved in the attack. He's been my favorite player this year.
SPurs have come from two down to make it Desmond vs Olympiacos. Harry Kane was Abel to score and tie it up
Drilled corner there met by Coop who couldn't find the target.
UWS will be pleased that Desmond has left Fratton Park because Pompey now lead Rotherham 3-2
We'll need some changes in a moment, just to freshen things up. Perhaps Clarke again for Harrison?
Bayern two up at Red Star Belgrade
Gundogan scores to give Citeh the lead vs Shakhtar. That would be enough to clinch first place in the group for Citeh
Richard Burton has taken a 1-2 lead at the SOL
Hernandez has a go but Pablo blocks it out for a corner. Sloppy stuff in the back from us.
Jeff will be pleased that his team is smoking Chesterfield as they now lead 1-5 at their place.
Oh - Klich with a great cross that Patrick wasn't able to control in the end.
Wow - wonder what Jeff does the rest of the week?
Bob will be hoping that the Reading Railroad does not dip into the Community Chest
Not sure. Will Jeff be having a Thanksgiving feast prior to the weekend?
Bayern now three up at Red Star Belgrade on way to clinching first place in their group
Oh - Stu Dallas rattles the cross bar!
Puscas with a horrible cross. Bob will be delighted it's not the Magyar from the 50s and 60s
I missed that. Leeds unlucky.
Looks like Gjanni Alioski is about to come on for Klich.
Helder did well to beat his man and get to the by-line but he couldn't quite find the right pass.
Now I saw it. Great shot from just outside the box.
COME ON LEEDS!MOT!
Ali with a foul to enter the match.
That sounds like good news as Ali has been injured. There's that change Bob mentioned
Oh - close call for us there. That could easily have been scrambled in. Let off.
Byaern up by a Barber Shop Quartet at Red Star as BAyern's Barber Shop Quartet sings " we're going to win the Group."
Oh - nice move ends with a volley from Dallas into the arms of the keeper. We're knocking on the door.
Hibs well on top at St. Helen Mirren, going two up. Bob doesn't want a visual
Helder wins another corner for us. Come on!
Stupid short corner routine.
Shakhtar ties it up at the Etihad , which doesn't really matter as Citeh have basically won the group.
Harrison wins another corner.
Oh - it bounced around a bit before Ben White hoiked it over.
Puscas being replaced by Lucas Boye. The Galloping Major will not be pleased.
Bayern now five up at Red Star
Oh - Ali found Dallas well there at the back post but he could only volley it into the side netting.
Ali with a great turn and cross - cleared out.
Ben White should have scored after that clanger from the Raphael Cabral.
Hejaria tries a pop from distance and White nods away for a corner.
OH!!! Into the side netting from Stu Dallas
Spurs have come from two down to lead 3-2 vs Olympiacos. Aurier with the latest Spurs goal
Meite with a shot deflected for a Reading corner
Wonder if that will be enough to clinch a place in the knockout rounds for Spurs
Good free kick chance now for us out wide left.
St. Helen pulls one back vs Hibs, trailing 1-2 as they are about to enter stoppage time
Good free kick in but Gunter nods out for a corner.
Spurs now lead Olympiacos 4-2 after being two down earlier in the match
Bit of time wasting now for Reading. They'll be happy with a point.
Amazing performance by Spurs!

The Cottagers go three up vs the Rams
Agreed. Jose having quite an impact at Spurs
Two corners in close proximity.

Lierpool loanee, Ejaria, uses his strength to win a free kick for the Reading Railroad
Great stuff there from us, a quick break through Alioski and then Helder with the cross. Jack made a run from left back to smash it home.
0-1!
Casilla pushes away a Swift Reading free kick. Leeds counter
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! ON THAT COUNTER OFF THE READING FREE KICK JACK HARRISON HEADS IN A CROSS FROM HELDER COSTA
Congratulations, Bob. A great goal on the counter. Jack Harrison played a long diagonal from the back to Helder Costa then sprinted 50 yards to be on thew end of that cross
It finished 0-0 at PR between the Tractor Boys and Wycombe in the battle of the top two in L1
We need to hang on to it now.

A trio of stoppage time minutes
Jamie Shackleton to come on to shore things up now.
HANG ON LEEDS!KEEP A CLEAN SHEET!
Bayern now half a dozen up at Red Star
Blow up, ref!
MOT!
YESSS!!!!!
We're top of the pop again.
Each side with a substitution to ruin UWS's day. Leeds with Jamie Shackleton on for the hero, Jack Harrison. Not sure If Reading will railroad on a sub
It's over at the Mad Stad and Leeds win 0-1 , going top, pending the Baggies result tomorrow.
Congratulations, Bob. You must be delighted with that hard fought win
