Early Morning Footie On the Road
Morning, chaps - I'm up with the chickens in my Austin hotel room this morning in order to follow the footer. I'll be taking a wee break (sssshhhh!) from conference doings to enjoy a relaxing morning in front of the telly. First up is newly minted Spurs manager Jose Mourinho's first test in a Londonderry with West Ham. Then we've got the usual 3pm GMT kick-offs, which today include my beloved Leeds kicking off at Kenilworth Road against Luton Town. The late one is a corker - Man City v. Chelsea. Should be fun - join me?

Sorry, mate - faster fingers. Do you want to use your thread?
No... I'm fine with this one
Jose in at Spurs... will he be a disaster for a third time in a row
Mourinho’s first job is to rebuild stuttering Spurs’ confidence, and get them back up the Premier League. He couldn’t have picked a much better fixture to start with. Spurs have emerged victorious from their last three visits to the London Stadium, and today they’ll face a West Ham team in abject form: five losses and two draws from their last seven games. Jose will fancy this one.
West Ham XI: Roberto, Cresswell, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Rice, Noble, Snodgrass, Yarmolenko, Anderson, Haller.
Subs: Martin, Balbuena, Zabaleta, Sanchez, Fornals, Ajeti, Antonio.
Tottenham XI
Gazzaniga, Davies, Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Dier, Winks, Alli, Moura, Son, Kane.
Subs: Austin, Rose, Walker-Peters, Sissoko, Lo Celso, Foyth, Eriksen.
Drops Sissoko and Eriksen
Dier in for the first time in yonks!
Lucua Moara in as well
Boys will be going to this stadium on Dec 28 vs Leicester
Of we go
The teams now gathering in the tunnel:
West Ham: Roberto, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Rice, Yarmolenko, Noble, Snodgrass, Felipe Anderson, Haller. Subs: Balbuena, Zabaleta, Sanchez, Fornals, Martin, Ajeti, Antonio.
Spurs: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies, Dier, Winks, Lucas Moura, Alli, Son, Kane.
Subs: Rose, Walker-Peters, Sissoko, Lo Celso, Foyth, Eriksen, Austin.
Referee: Michael Oliver (Northumberland).
Spurs haven't won away in the Premier League since January at Bob and Kate's
Last time they won at a current Premier League team as at Goodison in December
Beat me to it, this time, mate! ;-)
Mike and Phil will be at the Emirates later on today
He better send us pictures
MUR must be having a lie in; I don't blame him. 6am is pretty early to get up on the weekend. Yikes!
Phil Thornally?
Of course you never reload
Yes, he's a season ticket holder at the Em
Ooooh, I do so!
Kane hits the back of the net but was offside
Harry Kane rifles one into the top of the net but he's a mile offside.
My coverage keeps pausing...very annoying
During the international break, Kane apparently forgot the offside rule
Mine's okay but I keep dozing off.
Charlton and Cardiff are playing in the Championship right now
Goalless
Hammers have the first chance, weak header saved
I suppose I want a Cardiff win there.
Well, Warnock isn't there anymore
West Ham look toothless going forward
They have been rotten since they walloped my lot
Charlton just took the lead
A long goal kick.... shocker!
Roberto looked really toothless coming for that free kick, that's for sure.
I'm enjoying a really good oatmeal-cranberry cookie that I pilfered from the conference yesterday. My brekkies so far.
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Up for the match and surprised to not see a goal fest with Jose in charge
Sunshine hasn't been told the news yet. Not sure how he will react
Well done
I actually started the intermittent fasting
I don't eat for 16 hours and then have a window to eat
Has been pretty easy
Morning, MUR - how are you doing? Now I know how you feel on an early Saturday morning. Yikes!
Is Sunshine a Jose fan?
Does that mean that you only eat once a day, UWS?
I'm doing well. How is Austin? How are you , Dave?
I don't think Sunshine is a Jose fan. He will probably be cranky today
Morning MUR
I can eat during my window from about 10 to 6
So, what I have bee doing is finishing dinner at around 6 and then not eat until the following lunch. I could eat at 10 but I just wait to lunch at 12
West Ham a chance on the break there...blew it!
Just read UWS's comment about Warnock being gone.Checked FOTMOB and read that Former Evil Lion's boss, Neil Harris, now in charge of Cardiff
Why are you fasting, UWS.?Is everything ok?
I'm dozing off again.
Jose looking for a win at the East End Boys since Spurs last win was at the West End Boys
Just to be more healthy and try and lose some weight
No sugar in my coffee either
Leeds not on Plus today, but will be Tuesday at the Mad Stad
Useless front post corner...comes off once in three hundred but teams keep doing it
Way to go, UWS. Wishing you well. It must be tough fasting that length of time
Next one couldn't beat the one man wall!
Third one is where it should have gone in the first place
I'll look forward to that one. Thanks for the program note.
Spurs with that short corner to remind the two Daves what they had to experience the two and half seasons Jose was at OT
Next corner.... goes way outside the box...JUST DON'T GET IT!
Glad to help. Should be around for that one
I've been eating extremely well. This place is dangerous. I'd weigh 300 pounds if I lived here.
UWS, do those corners bring back any memories of Jose's time in charge of United? Sure glad he's not with us anymore.
GOAL !NUMBER ONE SON GIVES THE SPUDS THE LEAD
Nice finish from Number One Son , but Roberto should have dealt better with the shot. Nice pass from what looked like Harry Winks.,
Declan Rice did well to track Kane there.
Just read your comment, Bob. It takes lots of self discipline not to eat everything here.
GOAL! Sonaldo lashes one past Roberto to put Spurs one-up.
Nasty foul by Ryan Fredricks on Number One Son and deservedly booked for that
Wonder what Steve is thinking. I know he must have been laughing when the Spuds got Little Joe,.
Spurs are all over West Ham now.
Poor punch from Roberto off the free kick , but he makes up for it with a nice from the follow up volley from Delle Allli then the whistle blows to end the threat
Fredericks picks up a yellow card for a rash challenge on Son.
GOAL ! THE SPUDS GO TWO UP
Nice run and pass from Number One Son down the left , which was diverted in at the far post by Lucas Moura after Ben Davies chased down a lost cause to keep the ball in play
The Hammers have looked really awful since I tuned into the match at the dozen minute mark.
A pair of stoppage time minutes
GOAL! Lucas Moura finishes off a Sonaldo cross to put Spurs 0-2 up going into the break.
Got my laptop back after Spurs score twice
Great play for the second by DA and Sonaldo
Charlton two up vs Cardiff
Jose already headed to the dressing room.
Jose's buggered off early
Hope he misses a goal!
OMG... the corner fails to beat the one man wall...AGAIN!
Spurs still get it over and get header on frame
Corner headed on then Roberto tips over a volley from Cissy
Half time
Two nil Spurs
Why couldn't Jose do this at OT!
Number One Son heads over the next corner and the Spuds are two up at the half
It helps that the Hammers are really awful today
They have been awful since they crushed United
See what Jose said to DA
JM: Are you Dele Alli or his brother?
DA: Dele Alli
JM: Play like him then
Off we go for the second half
Back for the second half and Johnno must not be enjoying watching his team getting hammered in the first half. All going well for the Spurs in Little Joe's first match in charge
Horrible free kick from West Ham... Spurs break... oh dear from Lucas M!!
What do these professional players try and do with the ball that they can't make a simple cross
Spurs should have gone three up on the break. Nice run and pass from Number One Son and wide by Lucas Moura with just Roberto to beat
IT IS THREE NIL
Kane gets in on the act
GOAL !!!HARRY KANE AND ABEL TO PUT TH SPUDS THREE UP. NICE BALL PLAYED DOWN THE RIGHT AND A GREAT CROSS FROM AURIER HEADED INTO THE GROUND BY HARRY KANE AND PAST ROBERTO
I'm just back from a refreshing shower to see the third goal flash in. HK to the ready.
Spurs up to FIFTH
Cardiff get a goal back.
This will snap Spurs's winless away streak in the Prem. Jose to the rescue?
Spurs are ahead of the Blades on goals scored but tied at +4
United have a +4
Pathetic GD!!
Of course, Arsenal are -1!
JOSE AFFECT! Why didn't they play like this at OT! Well, the players are better at Spurs!
Fornals on for the unusually ineffective Jammy Lenko. Hard to blame him as it's the entire Hammers side
Yarmolenko comes off after a frustrating day. He didn't have a sniff.
I was being sarcastic . This won't last permanently. Jose will eventually wear out his welcome. That's his area of expertise
West Ham... people picked them to challenge for top six.... 16th!! Is their gaffer going to get the boot?
Are you two ready for your quiz? Hope you studied.
I'm surprised. Don't think anyone other than perhaps Johnno pickled them in the PPP. I think Manny P is walking on thin ice. He has a decent squad
Hammers finally with a shot on target. A harmless one from Antonio straight to Gazza
Number One Son wins a corner off a long headed free kick
Spurs have another corner....can they make it a hat-trick of hitting the one man wall?
Alas no, they go short
Another Hammers change as Carlos Sanchez is on for Dioup.
Hammers coaching staff looking stunned and clueless. Jose shutting up shop.
playing Palace on Boxing Day...should I go?
OH NO... I will be somewhere else that day!
Sorry, I shan't be on LOB that day!
Dozing off again - poor form from me.
Just post the pictures and you'll be all set for your contribution that day.
Of course, everyone will be going gaga over Jose's affect... but I put the blame on the players!!!
Cheers
Agreed. Looking forward to the pictures.
Free kick... hits the wall
Kane gets it right on the noggin
Let's see how the Spuds do against a better side. Jose effect. Who's having a laugh?
Antonio trying to get something going for the Hammers and he picks up a good free kick chances. Yellow card for Ben Davies.
Harry Kane down from taking that shot to the noggin. Will Harry Kane be Abel to continue?
YOu're going to be fed up with them!
Ericksen coming on
Cresswell smashes it into HK in the fall. He's down looking a bit stunned by it all.
Jose with instructions for Eriksen , about to come off the bench
Will Warnock baking over at the Hammers? Will he retire considering his age?
Hammers get a goal back by Antonio
Would it be lovely to end 3-3
GOAL !!! A CONSOLATION GOAL FOR THE HAMMERS! NICE STRIKE FROM ANTONIO FROM THE EDGE OF THE BOX OFF A COUPLE OF BLOCKED SHOTS
This one's just about over, so I'm going to have a wee nap before the 10 o'clockers.
And as I type that Antonio gets one back for the Hammers.
That sounds familiar, UWS. Have read that script before?
Wasn't West Ham's last home game against Newcastle
Three nil down and made it 2-3
Newcastle...where are they playing on Boxing Day/
Have a great power nap, Bob. Look forward to chatting with you later on
Bob's gone off to BEDfordshire
Cardiff have come from two down to make it Desmond at Banjo Boys lads. The Neil Harris effect?
Isn't that where Leeds is playing. Off to watch the match?
At OT where you will be watching.
Eriksen sandwiched on for Delle as Alli's teammates have delivered he knockout punch as they are hammering the opposition
A return to OT for Jose a week from Wednesday. Your thoughts, UWS?
I'll be in the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand(this small one)
I will be to the left of Ole as he's watching the match
I am sort of central but closer to the Stretford End and the tunnel
I'm still stunned!
Lucas Moura concedes a cheap free kick in a decent position for the Hammers.
I don't blame you. I would be too. Congratulations!
As fate would have it , Spurs first real test in the Jose era will be at OT, of all places. A hostile reception for Jose?
That's right... Spurs down to sixth
harry Kane, down , looking a little dizzy. Not sure why Snoddy rugby tackled him. Really stupid and deservedly booked
A result of interest to the PPP. Barca won 1-2 at Leganes
Yesterday. Dortmund came from three down with half a dozen minutes remaining to draw 3-3 at bottom club, Paderborn
GOAL !!DECLAN RICE HEADS IN A CORNER TO PULL IT BACK TO 2-3
The comeback on? This is the Jose we remember. Blowing a sure thing.
Almost 2-3 but offside
6 added minutes
I guess it was disallowed. Still 1-3. A half dozen minutes of stoppage time.
If Spurs were playing a better side then they would have blown the lead for sitting back and refusing to attack
Spurs with their first away win since playing at Bob and Kate's in January. Both opponents are really hospitable.
2-3... .West Ham have done it again!
GOAL !!! THIS ONE COUNTS OGBONNA VOLLEYS IN A CORNER TO PULL IT BACK TO 2-3
Last kick of the game
Spurs have won away!!
I'm off for walkies
I'll be back for the 3 o'clockers
It's over and Spurs with their first Prem away since January, but far from convincing as they held on to win 2-3 after being three up.
Me too. Will be back as well.
I am back for kick off
And we are off at the Em
Southampton have never won in 20 Prem visits
They're off from the EM and the Soccer Saturday Studio
Nice effort from the Saints
I'm back after my nap time and have Soccer Saturday blasting through the Gold link - thanks, UWS!
Got my SS link going strong
First chance for the Saints and well wide
I expect that to increase to 21
Yes. Thank you very much, UWS
Sadly, I'm unable to watch my beloved Leeds in their match at Kenilworth Road, so I've got the live text going on the LUFC website. Come on, you Leeds!
Foxes nearly take the lead at the Amex. A header from Ayoze off the corner of the post and the bar
Welcome back back, Bob. They're showing the Swans vs the Evil Lions today
I'm delighted to see that we've got Pablo Hernandez back in the starting XI.
Oxford United in thew lead at the struggling Shrimpers as is improving Bolton vs Accrington Stanley
I have SS and Goal Rush... that is the match from Selhurst
An increased points penalty for Bolton?
Fake Dons in the lead vs Rotherham , which should take them out of the drop zone
Partick Thistle taken over by a lottery winner. He's giving it back to the fans
Argyle in the lead vs Bradford City.
Leicester almost take the lead with a bullet header by Vardy
I saw that
ONE NIL SAINTS!!
GOAL !!! DANNY INGS GIVES THE SAINTS THE LEAD AT THE EM. DANNY INGS PUT THROUGH AND SHOOTS OFF THE POST AND IN WITH JUST JAY LENO TO BEAT GUNNERS FELL ASLEEP OFF A QUICK FREE KICK
Killie takes the lead vs Hearts
Saints thumped 9-0 at home but have played well since... lost them all tho
Tractor Boys in the lead vs the Tangerines
West From take the lead vs Wednesday on Saturday
Hal Robson-Kanu gives the Baggies the lead vs Not a Big Club
What did you see, UWS?
Not good - table topping WBA have taken the lead against Not a Big Club. I'd prefer a draw there, I suppose.
Corner from JWP headed out for another
Hoping that Derby can get something against PNE today, as well.
Bristol Rovers in the lead at the Shrews. The taming of the Shrews is not idle gossip.
Saints passing the ball well
Bob may be interested to note that as fate may have it , Jose's first big test in charge of the Spuds will be a return to OT a week from Wednesday. Your thoughts.
Queen Derby today
Queen of the South and Queen's Park playing
Wonder if QPR feel left out
We appear to be wearing some sky blue number today - don't like it. It's not Leeds.
The battle of the Queens. Queens Park take the lead at Queen of the South in the Scots Cup
Pompey take the lead at Rochdale
Accrington Stanley tie it up vs Bolton with a spot kick and Bolton with a player sent off for violent conduct
Arsenal are second best right now!!
Congratulations, UWS
Palace go very close to taking the lead
Fleetwood Mac on Top vs Tranny. Bob wants a visual
Still no reports from Kenilworth Road. SS ignoring us as usual.
