To answer, Bob. This NL is being linked top WC as the previous one is linked to Euro 2021. In terms of England their main goal is not finish last or else they will be relegated to League B for E2-24. If they finish top they get to play in the four team mini tournament in wither September or October next year

Some bizarre scheduling due to COVID cancelations in March, Ireland, Scotland, Ireland played in NL 2021 on Thursday, but playing NL 2022 today. sure if the years are correct but I'm picking the tournaments the NL is being linked to

My point of of view is that Belgium picked England apart with their passing a few times. They did dominate the five minutes leading up to the goal, but not before then. That's merely my opinion

That's true - too be fair, though - our expectations are a lot lower than are those of the big sides. We don't expect to win any trophies - our fans would be happy with a mid-table finish.
That seems to be the case. Gareth is rattled by the threat of the Belgian attack and he picked as defensive a side as he had access to. But hoping to contain KDB by giving him room to create is lunacy. This looks like what Sean Dyche would pick to stop Citeh and about as effective.
This tournament is being linked to WC 2022 qualifying. I think three teams will qualify for the WC via NL playoffs

I think three instead of four qualifying from the playoffs due to restructuring. Teams only qualifying from leagues A, B, or C unlike the Euros where there will be one also qualifying from League D

THat's what frustrates me about Hendo as the focal point in midfield. The ball broke to him in a good position with forward runners. But instead of picking one out, he took the safe sideways pass option and the move went nowhere.

Not impressed by Belgium today. It's noticeable that they've only really played for about 5-10 minutes during which they had one disallowed and then scored from the pen. Otherwise, they've just sat back.
Message to Gareth. If you pick a squad that can give their defenders a problem, that's the Belgian weakness.
Denayer, Boyata, Alderweid, they're not that great and the defensive middies have to do dangerous things in their own box.

Half-time: I"m not overly displeased. Belgium are ranked one of the best sides in the world, so they're no mugs. This is the sort of match we want to have in the semis or the final next summer. And we're holding our own against them.
Belgium took their foot off the pedal after their goal. If they play with the precision of their opening 15 minutes, it could get embarrassing because England's defensive set up in no match.

I wouldn't want to see DCL starting ahead of Kane or Sterling but I always want the hot shot striker in the Premiership in the squad to come bombing off the bench.

Lovely - Kal Phillips coming off the bench. Not exactly sure that Kal's the man for this moment but it's nice to see the boy getting another cap.
The way he drives forward with the ball. The way KDB picks out a pass. The way he hits the ball, it's all sensational.
Got no problem with the superlatives when they're merited. I didn't hear it when Dreary said it, but he's played some lovely stuff and with a great deal of vision.
