Saturday Night and Sunday Morning
I'm getting a late start to the action on Peacock this morning after a late night watching telly with Kate. Chelski are currently 1-0 up and on their way to a first win under Tommy Tuchel. That's followed by my beloved Leeds boys visiting Leicester. The Foxes did us over 1-4 at Elland Road back in the fall, and I don't expect much from this encounter. Based on my patented survival rubric, we don't need any points from this morning's match, so we can just go out there, relax and have a bit of fun. That's followed by another intriguing fixture - West Ham hosting Liverpool, a real test for the title holders. If that's not enough footer for you, Spurs visit the South Coast to meet Brighton in the late one. Join me for all the action, won't you?

Morning, chaps! Chelski are wrapping up a 2-0 win that will take them back up to 7th above Everton who lost to Newcastle yesterday morning.
And I'm all set to watch my Leeds. Come on!
Still waiting for the Peacock coverage to start - not a lot of build-up this morning. Sometimes you get a half-hour or so.
The teams now out on the pitch at Filbert Street:
Leicester: Schmeichel, Castagne, Fofana, Evans, Justin, Mendy, Tielemans, Albrighton, Maddison, Barnes, Perez.
Subs: Soyuncu, Ward, Iheanacho, Amartey, Under, Choudhury, Ricardo Pereira, Fuchs, Thomas.
Leeds: Meslier, Ayling, Cooper, Struijk, Alioski, Phillips, Raphinha, Dallas, Rodrigo, Harrison, Bamford.
Subs: Poveda-Ocampo, Roberts, Casilla, Helder Costa, Hernandez, Davis, Cresswell, Klich, Shackleton.
Referee: Chris Kavanagh (Lancashire)
As with the match at Newcastle on Tuesday, Pascal Struijk has come in for the injured Diego Llorente.
We're set to go, then. Come on, you Whites!
Early free kick for Leicester - mark 'em up!
Good morning, Bob. Here to join you and support you.
COME ON LEEDS!
MOT!
The Fourth President actually had a go at goal but got it all wrong.
Curled in by the Fourth p[resident and harmlessly out of play
Morning, David - thanks for joining me early doors.
That was the Fourth President acting more like $45
Both sides pressing high so far. Fast paced start.
Cheers, mate. Glad to join you
You must be pleased with the result from SB. A Spanish duo of goals helped
I was quite pleased with that Chelski win over Burnley.
I'm sure you will be going for the Spurs in the late match. Steve will not be pleased
Oh - first decent move from us but the final ball wasn't there.
Thankfully Leeds were wise to a foxes quick free kick. Then Leeds counter then the slide rule pass from Bamford was off.
Absolutely - top win over a bottom team is the ticket for us.
Very tight so far. Not a lot of room for either side to play good stuff.
BUGGER! HARVEY BARNES GIVES THE FOXES THE LEAD
Bugger! A quick break and Barnes profits from a Maddison feed and scores.
1-0 Leicester.
That was Harvey Barnes at his best as he went on a long solo run , played a one two with the Fourth President then scored with a well placed shot past Meslier
WAY HAY! LEEEDS TIE IT UP
Oh - what a great goal! Stu Dallas sprints through to latch on to Patrick's ball and finishes nicely!
1-1!
It was an Ayling attempt by the Fourth President to combine with the Fourth President as he did with the Foxes goal. He went on a run then passed to Bamford , whose superb slide rule pass was well finished by Stu Dallas, similar to the finish for the Foxes goal
Rodrigo is down needing some treatment. Seems like a groin twinge. Might have to come off.
BUGGER! AYOZE GIVES THE FOXES A 2-1 LEAD OFF A BLOCKED SHOT THAT BROKE TO HIM.
PHEW! It's disallowed for offside
Phew! Leicester race through and score but Sian Massey raises her flag to indicate offside.
Rodrigo down again. Looks like he's finished for this match. Looks like he will be Kliched off
Rodrigo won't be able to continue and Matty Klich has come on for him.
He is Kliched off. Fortunately it's an able replacement
Just to let you know that Leeds needs to win by five goals to move ahead of Saints up to 11th place
Yeah - we're pretty strong in that area. If it had been in the second half, Pablo might have come on.
I don't see us doing that, mate.
Oh - that awkward bounce nearly evaded Kasper. Could have easily gone in.
Deflected cross from Jack Harrison headed down by Bamford and Kasper had to be alert as the header took an awkward bounce and almost went over him
Half an hour in, we're holding our own here.
The next match is 5th vs 4th as the Hammers host Pool. I'll be going for a draw. The late one is the Seagulls vs the Spuds. I'll be rooting for the Seagulls while I'm thinking you will go for the Spuds
Agreed. It's been a great first half performance from Leeds
Meslier with a poor clearance but we got out of jail.
Oh - long ball out there and Jack hit it full on the volley. Kasper turned it around smartly.
Jack Harrison shoots right at Kasper but he's forced to turn it around due to the sheer power of the shot
YESSSS!!!!!!!
Patrick bundles it over! But no - there's some kind of inquest.
Klich ruled out for offside there. Too bad - that's one of the best corners we've had this season.
BUGGER! I thought Leeds scored off the corner. Kal Phillips headed off the bar then the rebound Kliched in from a foot off. Klich ruled offside and just barely after looking at the replay
That was a wonderful header from Patrick and an equally good save from Schmeichel.
Oh - a great interchange there and Raphinha produces another fine save by Kasper.
Raphinha plays a one two with Bamford then his near post shot turned around by Kasper
Brodge appears to be readying a change.
The Brodge is not happy with what he is seeing and I think he's going to make an early tactical change. That tells us how well Leeds is playing
Oh - very incisive attack by the Foxes and Meslier does well to save.
Nice close range block by Melsier from Albrighton then cleared off a run and pass from Harvey Barnes
Oh - Patrick was nearly in there again!
Fafana just about gets it right as he shields the ball back to Kasper off great pressure from Bamford
Richardo coming on for Costania - it looks like a tactical change.
It's actually a like for like switch as Ricardo is on for Castegne, who normally puts in solid performances. Castegne goes straight down the tunnel. Is it due to an injury or is he throwing a tantrum
A booking for an Ayling foul.
We just need to get into the dressing room level.
Poor free kick from the Fourth President , but Koch pressured into to conceding a corner. he should have been stronger
Corner nicely cleared out.
Agreed. This would be a great halftime score
Ayling has won a corner from a throw. Let's have this one, boys!
Fafana heads out for A Leeds corner off a throw
We've had the plurality of chances, I'd say. Could easily be 1-2.
Oh - that was dangerous but Meslier smothered it.
Deflected cross from Albrighton well gathered by Meslier at the feet of Ayoze in a crowd of players
Into stoppage time as Tielemans is down off a late challenge
Gjanni caught Tielemans late there - not even a card, thankfully.
Into a trio of those minutes
Ah - Jack got into a good position but just ran out of space.
Half-time - Well, that was fun, wasn't it? Another thrill-fest from us. We had the plurality of chances and are slightly unlikely not to be 1-2 or 2-3 up at this stage.
It's 1-1 at the end of an entertaining and even first half
We're back on for the second half. Leicester are making another defensive move - Albrighton is off and Soyuncu is on.
We're underway again - come on, you Whites!
Back from walkies for the start of the second half
Sounds like the Brodge is switching from a back three to a back four. Only one change left for the Brodge
Dangerous move there from Leicester; Struijk covers well.
Oh dear - VAR check now for a penalty. This could be given!
That was a close call - I've seen those given.
Leicester have started more quickly in this second half. We'll need to wake up.
Ayling has a cut on his head that will need to be treated.
Marcelo deep in thought now.
Coop gives us a free kick now after some loose play from Meslier.
Klich wins a tasty free kick now.
Mendy called for an illegal Klich
Raphinha looks like he lining this one up to hit it - surely not!
This is a winnable match for Leeds. The Cottagers won here in December
Perreira pulls a decent save out of Meslier now.
Ricardo shoots straight to Kasper
We've reached the hour mark - I wonder if Marcelo will be tempted to go to his bench.
Bob will be pleased and amused at that waste of a free kick from Soyuncu
I have a feeling the subs will be crucial and it may be decided late on
Tielemans let's go with one but Meslier covers easily.
Easy long range save by Meslier from Tielemans
Stu Dallas picks up a yellow card for a cynical little trip. That's four for him now - one more will mean a suspension.
Stu Dallas booked for a trip on Ricardo
Ayling buys a free kick now in a promising position where we can swing one into the box.
Just too close to Kasper from Raphinha.
This half hasn't been quite so breathless.
Patrick has come off in the last couple of matches but I don't expect that today. He's still our main threat up top and everything goes through him.
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!
What a strike from Patrick!!!!!!
That's Lord Bamford's 11th of the season and a priceless one!
Congratulations, Bob. I stepped out for a few seconds and missed the goal
Klich arrives late and picks up a yellow card - I think that's his fifth, so he'll miss the next match.
Klich a second l;ate and a tad harsh as he's booked for the challenge on Mendy. His fith of the season and will be suspended for the next matc
Oh - nice free kick routine there and somehow Fofana's shot is blocked by Coop. Corner.
Oh - and that's a close call for us from the corner. Soyuncu nodded on and the two at the back post couldn't get on to it.
Now Perez hits one and Meslier tips around. They've picked up the pace.
Phew! Meslier punched out and then was just about able to gather the shot.
Fafana with a shot blocked for a corner from a free kick then the Foxes miss a sitter on the corner as Soyuncu headed on the corner then Jonny Not on the spot as he volleys over at the far post. Nice save by Meslier the next possession then sa comfortable save from a deflected Mendy shot from 25 yards out
I would've taken a point easily at the beginning of the match, but now three points looks possible. Come on!
Looks like Marcelo wants to defend from the front. Helder Costa being prepared to come on for Raphinha who's got a knock.
Helder Costa on for Raphinha
Fofana has also come off and Cengiz Under, a Turkish international has come on.
Patrick has won us a useful corner now. Let's stick this one in, boys!
Oh - nearly a third goal. Off the line!
OH! nearly 1-=3. Header cleared off the line from Mendy from a corner
Oh - Struijk was nearly in there for the tap in from that Cooper header.
It was actually a header from Mini Cooper cleared driven off the line by Ricardo
Less than ten minutes to hold on to this lead now. Come on!
Some rusty stuff from Helder - he first gave the ball away and has now given a foul away. Stupid.
Stupid foul by Helder Costa on Fafana. Hope it doesn't Costa Leeds
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!
We break again through Patrick and he rolls it to Jack to tap in!
1-3!
WAY HAY! FOXES CAUGHT ON THE BREAK AND LEEDS LEAD 1-3
This is probably our biggest win of the season. Leicester are legitimate title contenders and we've turned them over on their patch!
It was a break off a Foxes free kick taken by the Fourth President and Struichjed away with the head. Then Stu Dallas found a teammate under pressure from Ricardo and the Foxes were caught upfield as a pass found Bamford all alone in the Foxes half and went on a long run and passed to Jack Harrison a tap into an empty net
Congratulations, Bob. Delighted for you and it has to be the result of the season
That's Jack's fifth goal of the season - he's been a priceless player for us and I'm hoping we can sign him on a permanent deal.
Leeds need three more goals to move ahead of Saints into 11th
"Over from Under." You'll appreciate that pun.
Lovely. That Fox definitely got Under that long range shot. More like Felix with that
Into stoppage time. Into a trio of those minutes
BOOM BOOM!
How about my "Odd Couple" pun . Jack Klugman would appreciate that. Brett Sommers not so much
Hope you will be around for the next match. It's a big one
This will be our ninth win of the season, six of them away from home. Nine losses as well. That's the sort of form we've been in.
Nice one, David!
Wahay! It's a brilliant win for us away to Leicester. I'm a little disturbed by the sight of Patrick limping off now. Hope he's okay.
1-3!
WOW ! Over at the KP and a great result for our United as well. Congratulations, Bob. Delighted for you
It means that we're now on 29 points from 20 matches. Only 11 points left to get for safety from 18 matches. Definitely doable. -1 GD now.
Next up is Everton at Elland Road on Wednesday.
Just saw the Bamford goal. Poor Foxes clearance, but nice through ball from Raphinha and superb finish from Bamford
Leeds probably two to three wins from safety
Back for the Hammers vs Pool
They're off from the London Stadium
Pablo Fornals passed to Cress well who cut i back for Benhrama and had a shot blocked then headed off the line
I'm back from a victory shower and notice that West Ham and Liverpool are locked in a dull 0-0 stalemate at the moment.
Welcome back. I'm a bit surprised . Expected better. I don't think either side has had a shot on target
There should be very little stoppage time since practically nothing has happened
Nice pass from Thiago and Origi slides between two defenders as he diverts a shot just wide
Salah shoots straight at Flappy as we have the first hot on target of the match into a minute of stoppage time
It's 0-0 at the end of a rather dour first half. Suits me just fine
Half-time - and Jurgen goes jogging down the tunnel. He's clearly not satisfied. And neither would be the punters.
This second half can only get better.
Into the second half from the London Stadium
Agreed. it can't be any worse
A challenge between two England teammates and Declan Rice booked for a nasty attempt at a slide tackle on Hendo
Bob will be interested to note that Lee Dixon said that one of Thiago's passes was inches away from being the pass of the century. He's got to be kidding
Nice block by Cresswell from Salah off a run and pass from Origi on the break
Into the side netting from Origi from a difficult angle off a back heeled pass from Salah
Better from Pool as they've mad a decent start to the second half. Klopp must have rattled a teapot or three
Just wide by Antonio on a Hammers break. it started with a nice slide tackle by Craig Dawson on Origi
GOAL !!! SALAH GIVES POOL THE LEAD
What a substitution from Klopp. Curtis Jones had just come on for Milner. He trapped a long ball from the back and passed to TAA to Shaquiri back to Jones , who passed to Salah. He cut back against a couple of Hammers and he curled it superbly in the corner past Flappy from a difficult angle
Liverpool now up to third ahead of the Foxes and Hammers , who are down to fifth .Pool a point behind United and four behind Citeh
That attacking substitution from Klopp sure paid off
If this result holds then Spurs will move up to fifth pushing the Hammers down to sixth if Spurs defeat the Seagulls
Like for like as Jammy Lenko on for Jarred Bowen, who has had a quiet match
Hammers win a corner off of Andy Robertson. Soucek called for a high boot on Hendo off the corner
Curtis Jones blocks a cross for a Hammers corner
Craig Dawson heads well over off the corner
Cross from Antonio cleared just wide by Andy Robertson for another Hammers corner
GOAL !!! POO GO TWO UP OFF THE HAMMERS CORNER ON THE BREAK. SALAH WITH HIS AND POOL'S SECOND
It was an awful Hammers corner headed away by the first man . Then TAA played a superb long diagonal wide left to Shaquiri. He then played a superb pass into the box and Salah with a textbook finish when he went for placement when other s would have gone for power with a superb touch
That was Shaquiri's last action as he's replaced by Bobby Chomper
Ryan Fredricks for Jarred Bowen and Mark Noble for Antonio on the final rolls of the dice for Moyesey. Looks like he's settling for damage limitation
The Ox on for Origi for his century of sub appearances in the Prem
GOAL !!! SUPERB TEAM GOAL TO PUT POOL THREE UP.EASY TAP IN
I'm back after lunch and Liverpool have put Johnno's Hammers to the sword. Winnie with the third there.
TAA TO BOBBY CHOMPERS TO THE OX TO BOBBY CHOMPERS AND TO WIJNALDUM FOR AN EASY TAP IN FROM A YARD OUT. Nice one touch passing including a couple of first time back heels as the Hammers were cut apart
Liverpool have displaced Leicester in third and are now a point behind United and four points behind Citeh. This title race is wide open!
GOAL! Craig Dawson has got one back for the Hammers. Game on?
GOAL !!! CRAIG DAWSON WITH A CONSOLATION GOAL FOR THE HAMMERS. NOW 1-3. NICE CORNER FROM AARON CRESSWELL MISSED BY DECLAN RICE AND A POOL PLAYER AND A NICE SIDE FOOTED FINISH FROM CRAIG DAWSON THAT WOULD HAVE PLEASED ANY STRIKER
Pool leading by the same score in the capital as three days ago
Welcome back, Bob. A completely different second half and Pool seem to have recovered from their loss of form
A trio of stoppage time minutes
That second Salah goal reminded me of some of the goals scored by Dennis Bergkamp
Salah's brace will take him up to 15 goals on the season, well out ahead of everyone else.
It's over at the London Stadium and Liverpool win 1-3, the same score they won by in the capital three days ago
Liverpool are back! They've won their second game of the week in London.
The big game next weekend will be Pool vs Citeh played in this time slot next Sunday
We just need a Spursy win against Brighton now to seal the weekend.
I will be rooting for the Seagulls in the late one even though they're not really my favorite team. I think I will be in and out of this one to take advantage of the lovely weather today
They're off from the AMEX
OH! Seagulls nearly take the lead early on. Close range shot from Gross off the post
Back in the second half Seagulls one up thanks to a first half goal from Leo Trossard assisted by Gross. Seagulls still fourth from bottom, but now seven points clear of the drop zone
Seagulls trying to win their first Prem match of the season. Hard to believe their so far clear of the drop zone without a home win
Robert Sanchez does well to turn around a shot from Vinicius from 25 yards out that would have gone just inside the post. Was at full stretch
It's over and the Seagulls win 1-0 for the Seagulls first home league win of the season. Seagulls now seven points clear of the drop zone while Spurs remain sixth
That's it for me. I will be around for the transfer window deadline tomorrow. Everyone enjoy the rest of the weekend.
CHEERS!
