The Dahlgren Derby and Our Mob Too
So another big day in the Premier League. United visits the Baggies in another MUST WIN game against a rubbish team. We struggled almightily at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture. Hoping for a much more relaxing morning.
The second match is the battle of the Dahlgren brothers....may the best team win

Happy Valentines Day all!
One match is already into the second half. The Saints lead 1-0 at St Mary's with a a goal by Danny Ing. The Saints trying to beat Wolves for the second time in a week as they won at Molineux in the Cup midweek
The line ups have been announced for the first match on NBCSN
West Brom XI: Johnstone, Peltier, Ajayi, Bartley, Townsend, Yokuslu, Snodgrass, Maitland-Niles, Gallagher, Pereira, Diagne.
Man Utd XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Rashford, Martial, Cavani.
NBCSN have no pregame at all.... Premiership Rugby all the way up to kick off
Wolves have tied it up from the spot
Neves scores
Good Morning, Dave. Thanks for getting us started. Now 1-1 as Ruben Neves scored from the spot , sending McCarthy the wrong way. Penalty never should have been awarded
I hadn't tuned in the COCK until after the pen... apparently it was a handball by Bertrand.... and the question was....where could he put his hands?
Morning David
VAR SUCKS
So inconsistent
Finally something was said yesterday about offside
Klopp The Whiner talked about the video stopped at the wrong time. It is not a black and white issue. Why do they pause the picture and draw the lines when they do?
It is a guess on when the ball was kicked. What does it mean the ball kicked? When the foot touches the ball? When the foot indents the ball? When the ball leaves the foot?
It is milliseconds but the offside decisions are millmeters
Correct Dave. He was a yard away and he was trying to put his hands behind his back. The arm was out for leverage and a second away from going behind his back. I know I'm part of the defender's union , but don't know of anything else he could do. Not sure if the striker's union might have a different perspective
In terms of Klopp, he can't blame the loss on the offside decision. His team lost because they absolutely collapsed in a seven minute period. Is he going to blame the ref because Allison made a schoolboy error? I agree with you about offsides. In my opinion, millimeters is inconclusive. I think the whole body should be offside in order for it to be called offside. A millimeter is not giving a striker an advantage.
GOAL !! WLVES HAVE COME FROM BEHIND TO L;EAD 1-2 WITH A GOAL FROM PEDRO NETO!!!
Wolves have come all the way back.... Nice Goa by Neto
Taken someone on with pace in the box!
I am not blaming the offside for their loss... I loved that they lost!
I just hate VAR
The goal looks better on the reply than in real time. At first I blamed McCarthy, but then the replay showed it was an incredible finish from a nearly impossible angle. He showed Vestergaard a clean pair of heels. then curled a shot in the corner when it appeared that the angle was impossible
My apologies. I am criticizing Klopp because he claimed offside was to blame , nit his team's poor performance in the final minutes. Your comments are spot on
You should she see the Ings volley that gave Saints the lead. You would have been proud of that finish
Wolves up to twelfth, a point behind Steve's team and two behind Bob's team. Thought I would give them a mention
Barnsley is surprisingly one up at the Bees. Barnsley gave Chelsea a tough time on Thursday
Celtic have come from behind to lead 1-2 at St. Johnny. Rooney gave St. Johnny the lead, then Edouard with a pair for Celtic
Brentford trying to go back on top with a win.....they haven't lost in the league since October
The Bees will go top with a draw because they would be top by virtue of a far superior goal difference to the Canaries
Nice double save by Rui Patricio from JWP and a member of the Addams Family
Morning, guys - Happy Valentines Day to you and yours. I'm really looking forward to the two matches coming up.
Good morning. Happy Valentine's Day. Agreed,. Looking forward to watching our teams play
Willian Jose replaced by Fabio Silva
What do Willian and and Willian Jose have in common? Both are supposed to score goals and count, at least in the Prem
Saints about to set a club record with half a dozen consecutive league losses
Morning Bob
Celtic have come from behind to win 1-2 at St. Johnny. Rangers needs four wins and a draw to clinch the SPL
A quintet of stoppage time minutes at St. Mary's
Celtic have won at the the Johnnies
A time wasting sub to ruin Dave's day as Max Kilman on for Pedro Neto to kill off the game
Wolves right behind the Dahlgren teams
More GARBAGE substitutions for Wolves.... remember last week... OGS made a pointless substitution which added 30 more seconds on top of the 4.... and Everton scored!
I HATE IT
Stop the clock.... no incentive to sub...it will stop!
I am getting on my soapbox again! Something has to happen with the clock
Have it stop after the 80th minute... added time will be added for the play before that point
Southampton need a goal....they go backwards with the throw and the whistle goes
It's over and Wolves win 1-2 at St. Mary's . A club record half a dozen consecutive league defeats for Saints. Wolves a point behind Steve's team and two behind Bob's
NBC still on the rugby
They are going to go to the Hawthorns just in time for kick off
PLEASE DON'T STRUGGLE UNITED!!
STILL on commercials!!
RUBBISH!
NBC Sports still on the rugger - grrrr!
In terms of the time wasting sub by OGS, it's a repressed memory. Trying really hard to forget it
We are off
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Disgraceful NBC coverage. Barely in time for kickoff.
They're off from the Hawthorns.
COME ON MAN UNITED!
Since Fat Sam took over, not sure why the Baggies are so much better away than at home. No fans to get on their backs
BLOOODY HELL
Bloody hell - sorry, guys - the Baggies have scored in the second minute.
DMAN !! BAGGIES TAKE THE LEAD
Lindeloff beaten so easily in the air!!
SO PATHETIC
How was that not a foul on Lindelof?
81 seconds!!!
United haven't touched the ball!!!
Poor defending off the corner. Digane played the ball wide to Lee Peltier , who cut it back to Connor Gallagher , and his great cross was well headed in by Digane for his first Baggies goal, but he was wide open
The Hawthorns is the highest football ground in the country
551 feet!
That's just going to make United angry. Come on, you Red Devils!
What was that pass!!!
IN THE BACK !!!
Barnsley two up at the Bees
Brentford 2 down at home to Barnsley
SHOOOOT THE BALL RASHFORD!!
He always wants to make a move!
Oh - Rash was nearly in there. Should have shot!
LOL! They will need altitude pills with that lofty elevation at the Hawthorns.
Again, United are not ready for the start of a game!!!
Drives me nuts
Thanks for your support, Bob. Hard to watch a dreary performance on a cold and dreary morning
Decent volley from Fred saved by the former United trainee. He's had a better season than any of our keepers
The height must be bugging them!
The ball in the box...went to the back post and knocked back.... Rash wasn't busting a gut to get on the end of it
LAZY
On a side note , Daryl Dike, on loan from Orlando City, making his league debut for Barnsley at the Bees
They start slowly in the majority of their matches....that can't be right!
A good part of Texas is higher than the Hawthorns, LOL!
Agreed, Dave. Not sure how they entered the match undefeated on the road for the season
We need our goalscoring maestro closer to the goal...McTom
United have won seven games away from home this season after going behind.
Not looking forward to halftime when I Sparky has walkies on what is a chilly and windy morning by our standards
Who cares about possession!!!!!
It means absolutely nothing!
United can come from behind only so many times. That stat sounds like they're riding their luck
What was that delivery from Perreira? Out for a throw!
That Baggies free kick like the USPS of the past few months. Delivered to the wrong area by quite a distance
Very chilly here, too, Dave. I was nearly frozen going out for the Saturday grocery run last night.
despite the lead, the Baggies are ten points from safety
United not going forward!!
We are supposed to get snow a lot during this week
15 minutes in.... a weak effort from Fred and Rash phaffing with the ball in the box.... that is it!!
We're just barely above freezing , but Melanie just a few hours away is experiencing what you two face during a Winter
No snow here, but a chance of freezing rain today providing icy roads tomorrow morning. I think Central Texas is supposed to get three inches of snow. They got that last month too. A lot by their standards
Someone sneezes and we get three inches of snow!
Other teams come here and score 6 and 5 and 5...... and United can't get a shot off
I really don't think Rashford deserves to be in the England squad. He has been useless! He's looks bored!
United not even trying. Hate that!
Kate is wondering why WBA have a bit of the 23rd Psalm - "The Lord is My Shepherd" on the stands. Any ideas?
Toothless so far from United..... so poor
No idea!!
LOL, Dave. It's highly unusual in Texas, let alone twice in a winter. It's like you all getting snow twice in May
Peltier is down receiving treatment now.
Not sure, Bob. That church may be one of their big sponsors this season
Maybe the owners are religious?
If he can't continue then he would be replaced by Darnell Furlong, which would be pretty much like for like. Looks like he's able to continue
That could be, Bob. Not sure
Should have been a corner but why wasn't Martial busting a gut to get ball side of the man!!
Cross from Rash appeared to be cleared by Lee Peltier for a corner, but foul called for a supposed illegal karate chop or goal kick.
"Come on, you Baggies" is on the other side. Is that a bit of Scripture that I'm not familiar with?
Why play Martial if he isn't committed to the cause. He hasn't been trying. That's rewarding lack of effort
United's defenders beaten to the ball again....not one center back was marking the guy who already planted the ball in the back of the net!!
Usually that verse is during a funeral service. I guess that best describes the Baggies season so far.
Rash turns well....inside the box....tries to be Mr Tricky.....doesnt' cross the ball!!
United look more like a team from the Championship when they are attacking
WBA should be two up!!
UNITED SUCK
De Gea does well to tip over a header from Snoddy off a cross from Connor Townsend
Oh - Snoddy nipped in front of Shaw and De Gea had to tip his header over.
Thankfully, the Baggies waste the corner. Better teams might have scored
To answer Kate
For years it has been thought Psalm 23 was first sung by Baggies fans on Sunday, January 27, 1974, when Albion travelled to Goodison Park for an FA Cup fourth round clash. ... “I've always loved the Albion and I believe in God,” White told the Express & Star this week.
Useless cross by Rashford!!
Rash a danger? IF HE WAKES UP
Another poor cross by United
Thanks, Dave. That sounds like the correct response
Lindelof is really struggling with Diagne. Why? The guy's on loan from Turkish outfit.
So slow in the top third from United!
Thanks for the research, Dave!
I just knew United would be offside from that free kick!!
Stop watching the screen..... SCREAM at your players
That Shaw was a wasted free kick. Maguire having a mare today
Anything for Kate
Obiwan makes a move...beats a man... has space to take....turns and goes backwards
Maguire goes on a solo run and is tackled for a corner
Maguire storms through and wins a corner. It's cleared out.
We really look clueless !
THIS IS WEST BROM!!
The Baggies are battling really hard, a Fat Sam trademark, but I fully expect that United's superiority will shine through in the end.
United could only beat West From 1-0 at home with a penalty!
United lost to Shef Utd at home
Why do we play so badly!!
If United lose today then I don't see a way back for them in the title race. Citeh would have the chance to go eleven points clear on Wednesday
Rashford DUCKS when the ball goes to him
Great run by McTom.... too long of a pass by Cavani!
WAKE UP
We don't deserve to win the title if we can't defeat the Baggies and Evil Blades
United win the ball in the midfield and they SLOW THE BALL DOWN AND GO BACKWARDS!
Connor Gallagher with his requisite booking, this time for a foul on Fred
Best option?l Have our center back run in the box and shoot weakly!
SPEED UP THE PLAY!!
Useless corner..not one red shirt near the ball
Elizabeth and I are celebrating Valentine's Day next weekend since the events of the past fortnight have consumed us. No time for shopping and until yesterday we forgot about Valentine's Day
Fat Sam was last relegated with a team twenty four years ago. That was with Notts County
United just off the boil today. OGS will have to rattle the teacups at half-time.
It's almost half time.... has there been a decent effort on goal
United have the ball...NO ONE is moving
That's a smart way to do it, David. I hope you enjoy that celebration.
Bruno has been so bad today!
Thanks, Bob. Hopefully things will improve by then
United are getting worse!!
Bruno is laying in the box...GET UP!!!!
Bruno is down in the WBA area now. Just about struggling to his feet.
He laid in the box forever... didn't interfere with play.... ball never made it in the box
Oh - Maguire again with a mazy run. He's at least got the bit between his teeth.
Too much passing in the Baggies box and nobody gets a shot off
FINALLY!!
Great finish by Bruno!!
Not deserved!
Oh - what a goal by Bruno! Cracking effort!
1-1!
Now wake up!
GOAL !!! 1-1 . SUPERB VOLLEY FROM BRUNO OFF WHAT SHAW WAS A GREAT CROSS
He has been so poor today
United now second, ahead of the Foxes on goal difference
Poor defending off the Baggies corner and Fred blocks a shot from Maitland-Niles for another corner
Next corner defended better and the halftime whistle blows as United start a break. it's 1-1
United complaining to the ref that he blew the whistle.... stop complaining and wake up!
The ref blows for half time and the United boys are none too happy with it.
As I was saying, the quality will win out. I fully expect United to win this one in the second half fairly easily. It is WBA!
Replays show that Diagne had his hand in Lindelof’s face when he scored the goal, so it probably was a foul.
We're back on for the second half. Furlong has come on for the injured Peltier.
Teams out for the second half
PLEASE play better
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Still talking about possession... .United were pathetic
Useless cross by Bruno
Toothless corner again by United
COME ON...SCORE EARLY AND OFTEN!
There goes Rashford... AGAIN.... too many damn moves!
Cross it or shoot!
Rash makes 700 moves before he finally crosses it but NO ONE IS THERE
Bruno laying down again!
He was kicked...that's it!
Did you see the stuff with the old ref Dermot Gallagher?
No - I missed that. What happened with Dermot?
United started off quick in this half but have slowed down again
Cavani the only one making runs but they don't pass to him
How cold was your half-time walkies, Dave?
He's been on TV for yonks...totally English....well he is actually Irish and has a strong Irish accent!!
Oh - Perreira skipped through there onto a ball from Maitland-Niles and shot just wide. A bit of a let-off!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaObIIMnxEY
Back from walkies on a damp, cold , windy drizzly morning. Sparky loves it.
I hate the Sunday schedule. Far too congested and if you have to do anything you miss part of the match
Wow - I had no idea!
What has Martial done today?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
That's true, mate - and I never have the desire for an early wake-up, unless it's Leeds on the box, that is.
No one did!!
Yeah - I'd have Martial off in a few minutes. Who on - Greenwood?
That sounds like a great swap, Bob. Agreed with Dave about Martial
The screaming by the players in an empty stadium is just plain embarrassing!
GROW UP
Jake Livermore to come on to merely bottle things up in midfield. A typical Fat Sam move at this point. He's happy with a draw, that's for sure.
Bartley picks up a yellow card and United can swing one in to the big boys.
At least it's just barely warm enough to not have black ice, but there may be some in our area tomorrow morning
Maguire goes down at the back post and United have a penalty! Craig Pawson took an age to decide.
Bloody hell.... Maguire goes down... and the ref has pointed the spot.....never a pen... he was offside anyway
It won't stand
Bit of a tug from Ajaye but is Maguire onside? VAR check of course.
WOW ! penalty united. Craig Pawson points to the spot after Maguire went down in the box off a free kick
Why is he going to the screen....doesn't the offside get decided by the Line Artist at Stockley Park
Definitely contact there from Ajaye. But Maguire looked a step off.
Craig Pawson going to the monitor to check. There may have been a tangle of legs and Maguire may have been offside
This is ridiculous
He was offiside!!!
I don't think it was a penalty
Penalty rescinded , which is the right call. This took far too long
Penalty not given - apparently for not enough contact. I'm really surprised by that decision.
Pen not given...but either has the offside!
VAR DRIVES ME NUTS
It was more of a foul than other times.... but he's offside!
