Another Big Day in the Premier League!
It's another big evening at Elland Road for my beloved Leeds United. The boys in white host Crystal Palace, who did us over 4-1 at Selhurst Park back in the fall. According to my patented survival rubric, we should be able to beat lower half sides at home. So, three points tonight, boys! Come on, you Whites! #MOT!

Hey Bob
Best of luck
I need a big day from my three Leeds players.... Coop, Dallas and Kal
We are off!!
And we're away at Elland Road - come on, you Whites!
Afternoon, Dave - thanks for joining me. How are things?
Things here are okay. Kathy is out of her room!!
The Palace new boy Mateta has a first chance to stretch his legs. Coop deals with him easily.
YES!!!
ONE NIL!!!!
You're above Arsenal!!
Wonderful news!
And Harrison puts us 1-0 up! Wahay!
Bit of a deflection on that effort from Jack. They all count!
1-0!
Matty Klich seems to have picked up a knock now. Hopefully he can walk it off.
We've got another Dahlgren Derby on Sunday (Valentine's Day) at the Em. If we get a result tonight, we can relax then.
Phew.... Palace almost in... bad touch
Leeds doing their best Alisson impersonation there...KNOCK IT OFF
No need to take a trip to Alisson Blunderland
oooh....was that off the post!!
Palace starting to creep into the match now; we shouldn't sit back. We need to keep attacking them and get more goals.
It was saved
Oh - great ball in from Gjanni and Patrick did so well to direct his header on goal. Great save from the keeper.
Come on Leeds.... I need goals and assists from Dallas and Philips and a clean sheet from Cooper
Already have one assist....keep em coming
Come on .... I need points!
I am tied for first and can't afford to drop three points!
We're doing a nice job quietly controlling this match.
Oh - chance there for Patrick from Dallas' cross. Got that header all wrong.
Palace have a corner now - mark 'em up!
Corner cleared
GEEZ.... come on Patrick!!!!!
An atrocious attempt!
Oh - bloody hell, Patrick. Clean through and but gets his left foot shot all wrong.
You'd have buried that one, Dave.
I hope I would have
Free kick chance for the Good Guys
Rash to take....I'd let Kal!!!
Free kick chance now - we don't get a lot of these, so I'm not sure who'll take it. Maybe Kal?
Useless effort from Raph
No - it's the Brazilian Raphinha. Didn't come down for him. A sighter.
Did you see that City's CL match vs Monchengladbach and Liverpools' vs Leipzig have both been moved to Budapest
So... Man Utd won the Super Bowl!!....well their owners did!
You guys have been invested in by the 49ers.....they could only lose the Super Bowl last year!
I didn't see that; why the move to Budapest?
I'm quietly hopeful about the 49er investment. I don't want us to become a moneybags, bandwagoner club like Citeh.
Palace having another patch here - knock it off!
Ayew has a go from distance but Meslier has it covered.
What was that? Nice turn by Raphinha and he went down in the area. Should have been a penalty!
Free kick to Leeds just outside the box....checking to see if it is in the box...it isn't
Dahlgren type grap there by Palace
VAR still checking it. Nothing doing; just a free kick.
Just too high on the cross...bugger
Oh - Struijk nearly in there at the backpost.
Another nasty foul there by Palace as we were in full flow.
Free kick into the box and Coop tried to nod it on. Collected by Guaita.
Raphinha in there again. Tried to turn and shoot from Gjanni's ball in. Earned a corner.
Big chance....header missed!
Oh - free header for Struijk there. He must score there!
We should be three up at least at this point. The Harrison goal, the Bamford chance and that one.
Coming up on half time then.
Wake up Bamford!!!
HT and half way to three points
I need some more points from my Leeds trio!!
Oh - Patrick was in there but failed to control it. One of those nights.
Half-time: Well, it's maybe a bit greedy to say that I'm disappointed only to be 1-0 up. But we really should be at least 3-0 up, if not more. Loads of chances in that half. We're playing well and should add to this scoreline in the second half.
That's it for me, mate - I'm heading downstairs to set up my classroom for tonight's class. Cheerio!
Take care Bob...have a great classs
Townsend coming on for the second half
We aer off
TWO NIL!!
Good Afternoon, Dave. Sorry for my absence, but a family matter unexpectedly happened. I saw the goal from Bamford that put Leeds two up
Welcome David
Hope all is ok
Leeds would be seven points off of Europe
Thanks, Dave. I think so.
Steve and Bob swapping places in the able.
Kathy is out of isolation....getting things sort of black to normal
Still got Shad
Bob has mentioned Leeds surviving. I don't see any of the bottom three getting more than 35 points , so I would think that Leeds after this match will be a win from safety
Delighted for Kathy. Glad things are improving . Hope Shadow feels better
From the Beeb
Patrick Bamford has now scored in three different Premier League games this season against sides he previously played for (Crystal Palace x2 & Burnley) - he is the first player to achieve this in a single top-flight season since Romelu Lukaku in 2017-18 (vs Everton, West Brom & Chelsea for Man Utd).
They've been safe for YONKS!!!
WOW ! That's a great piece of anoraking. He also played for the Canaries and Teesiders, but they are in the Championship, so he won't be playing against those sides. Maybe next season
LOL, Dave! Sounds like Bob is driving you crazy with survival talk
Buys taking care of Shad...Harrison rockets the ball off the bar!!
OH! Jack Harrison toe pokes a shot that clips the top of the bar and goes out for a goal kick
To be fair.... I read it from the BBC coverage of the match!!
I need just one and a quarter points to win my fantasy match!!
A clean sheet will do it too
Shackleton on for Phillips....he looks hurt or knackered
Sounds like you're on track for a win in the Fantasy match
Either way that was a great piece of info you provided
A trio of stoppage time minutes
3 added minutes
I NEED THE CLEAN SHEET!!
You have the clean sheet
YES.... Leeds win 2-0!!
I get the clean sheet and win my week.... still tied for first!
Leeds win 2-0 and are now tenth on 32 points. Dave wins the fantasy football match. Congratulations to Bob and Dave
I couldn't be happier about that win today. It was a consummate performance at Elland Road where we have struggled, largely because of the pitch.
Lots of milestones today, too. It was Patrick Bamford's 12th goal of the season and 100th career goal that sealed it for us. We're now up to 10th - top half! - having won 10 and lost 10. We've also now scored 38 goals and conceded 38.
It takes the pressure off for the Dahlgren Derby at the weekend, as we don't really need anything from it.
