We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!
I've just noticed that the new film version of "The Sweeney," based on the classic 70s cop show with John Thaw and Dennis Waterman has opened in select cinemas in the US. It stars a bevy of British action star talent ably led by Ray Winstone, Damien Lewis, Ben Drew and Hayley Atwell (for a bit of crumpet). Look out for it at a theater near you or - in my case - wait six months for it on Netflix. Enjoy!
