A Really Huge end of Season Sunday Triple Header
It doesn't get any bigger than this bright and early on a Sunday morning as there is a triple header that affects both ends of the table. we start with a relegation six pointer at the SOL as Sunderland hosts Cardiff City, followed by the biggie, at Anfield Where Liverpool hosts Chelsea. The title could be all but decided or it could still be wide open. We conclude with Crystal Pulis vs Citeh , which also affects the title race. A must see!

They're off from the SOL!
Cardiff in their change strip of blue which, until two years ago, was their first choice colors.
The winner goes above the drop zone.
Naughty by Fabio on Whickham. The free kick from Johnson barely cleared then Alonso has a shot deflected for a corner.
The corner is headed away by Mutch. Marshall had to be alert to tip away a cross from Larsson then a cross was pushed out by Marshall for another corner. The next corner, by Johnson, was just too high for Forgini.
Larsson heads straight to Marshall from the edge of the box off a cross from Whickham
A through ball by Larsson for Borini was just too long off a throw.
Mutch wins a corner off of Forgini
A foul is called off the corner from Whittingham as Mutch impedes Mannone.
Mutch wins a Cardiff corner,.
Cowie volleys high and wide as Mutch headed on the corner
Another Cardiff corner. The corner was just too high for Caulker and Frazier Campbell and is out for a goal kick
Lee Cattermole is furious for being called for a foul and is lectured by Phil Dowd.
Johnson wins a Sunderland corner
GOAL !!!! GUESS WHO. YUO IT'S CONNOR WHICKHAM HEADING IN AT THE FAR POST OFF A CORNER FROM LARSSON. IT BOUNCED ON THE GROUND AND WHICKHAM HEADED IN, UNMARKED AT THE FAR POST.
Vergini crosses straight to Marshall.
Theophile Catherine outmuscled for that goal
Marshall saves a deflected effort from whickham
Just wide by Colback as long ball was headed out.
Afters between Mutch and Cattermole . Phil Dowd warns both players. Then seconds later Mutch is booked for another off the ball incident on Cattermole. That type of behavior drives managers bonkers.
Vaergini booked for a foul on Mutch.
Medel booked for what was not a gold medal foul on Colback about thirty yards from goal.
A short free kick that was off the training ground, from Johnson, was headed away.
PENALTY AND RED CARD . JUAN CALA WAS DISPOSSESED BY WHICKHAM, THEN TUGGED ON WHICKHAM'S SHIRT. HE PLAYED ON AND AS THE BALL WENT BY IT WAS CALLED BACK.
GOAL !!! 2-0 AS BORINI TUCKS AWAY THEPENALTY IN THE CORNER.
A horrible defensive error by Juan Cala . The initial contact was in the D , but the second contact was on the line and Marshall forced Whickham wide. It was called back by Phil Dowd and according to the letter of the law, those were the right decisions.
The Black Cats are two up at the half. I don't see a way back for Cardiff. They have trip up to the Northeast next weekend as they are at SJP next weekend , then host Chelski at home to conclude the season. It think Cardiff are all but down
The second half is underway from the SOL.
Zaha hascome on for Cowie.
I don't see how Cardiff can get back into this match as they struggle with eleven , let alone ten men
Catherine heads out for a Sunderland corner then Catherine heads away the corner
Borini curls an effort well wide off a long Sunderland possession
Fabio won a free kick near his corner flag then is booked for pushing Seb Larsson, trying to get the ball for a free kick
Wes Brown booked for a foul on Zaha. An OT connection.
The latest. Sturridge not starting for Pool today vs his former club, Chelsea. He is on the bench. I don't get that.
John O'Shea is down , being treated for what appears to be cramp.
Seb Larsson was booked for that incident with Fabio.
Great run by Zaha and he wins a corner
Mutch heads well wide from the corner. He should have done better.
As things stand, Sunderland would be out of the drop zone, ahead of the Canaries on goal difference and Cardiff would be bottom, two points from safety.
Borini shoots wide off a run and pass from Jack Colback.
Kenwyne Jones, the former Black Cat, on for Fabio.
Mannone does well to push away a deflected free kick from Whittingham then O'Shea heads out for a Cardiff corner.
A goal kick was given.
whittingham tackles Johnson for a corner.
The corner from Johnson is headed out by Jones for another corner.
Wes Brown heads over from the next corner as it was glanced off the back of Jones's head
Borini has a shot deflected for a corner off a pass from Whickham
Marshall punches away the corner from Larsson.
Borini has a close range effort blocked by Marshall off a pass from Colback a and Giaccherini is on for Larsson.
Craig Bellamy booed for his time as a Toon player, is on for Frazier Campbell on a not so successful return to the SOL.
Well wide by Whickham
GOAL !!! 3-0 GIACCERNI SEALS IT FOR THE BLACK CATS.
Five passes and a goal. Mannone passed to Alonso , who passed to Whickham, who passed to Borini, who played through Giaccherini , who beat the on rushing Marshall at the near post
This one is done and dusted. The Black Cats out of the drop zone and the Canaries in for the first time this season.
Giaccherini has a shot deflected for a corner.
Colback over from about twenty five yards out off the corner
Borini is booked for a foul.Liam Bridcutt is on for Jack Colback and Craig Gardener is on for Adam Johnson.
Whickham wins a corner off of Catherine.
IT'S HIM AGAIN AS OUR BOB WILL NOT BE PLEASED THAT WHICKHAM HAS A BRACE.THE CORNER WAS TAKEN BY GIACCHERINI AND JUST LIKE THE FIRST GOAL CATHERINE WAS AT FAULT FOR FAILING TO MARK WHICKHAM, WHO HEADED IN EASILY AT THE NEAR POST. IT'S 4-0 BLACK CATS,.
Jones heads over from closer range off a cross from Bellamy, but was well marked by Wes Brown.
Borini tackled by Caulker for a corner. Gus talking to the fourth official
It's actually a throw.
Four minutes of stoppage time
Marshall saves easily from Giaccherini.
Morning, MUR - I'm hosting some lads over at The Cottage this morning. I've just tuned in to see Connor Bloody Wickham score his brace in a 4-0 stuffing. Cor!
Bellamy wins a really late corner as Gardener was booked for a foul on Zaha.
It's over as the black Cats trash Cardiff 4-0 and are out of the drop zone.
So, Sunderland are lifted out of the bottom three and Cardiff slip to the bottom of the table.
Good morning Bob. It sounds like a really great time
Morning Boys
Sorry I missed the first one
I didn't get home last night until 1 a.m.
Now for big 'un - here's the team news:
Liverpool: Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Skrtel, Sakho, Gerrard, Allen, Lucas, Coutinho, Sterling, Suárez. Subs: Jones, Toure, Agger, Cissokho, Alberto, Aspas, Sturridge.
Chelsea: Schwarzer; Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Kalas, Cole; Lampard, Mikel, Matic; Salah, Ba, Schürrle. Subs: Hilario, Ake, Cahill, Van Ginkel, Baker, Willian, Torres.
Referee Martin Atkinson
Statisticians Opta on Twitter: Brendan Rodgers has named an unchanged side for the eighth time this season, more than any other Premier League manager. Stable.
Teams in the tunnel at Anfield
Next , to the opposite end of the table as it's first vs second in a match that will open up the title race or could virtually settle it for Liverpool. It's the student vs the master as Brendan Rodgers, who was in charge of Chelsea's during Jose's first spell in charge, takes on Jose! Sturridge is on the bench for this one vs hos former club. Glen Johnson another former Chelsea player as Torres does not start on his return to Anfield.
Here they come… could be the smallest tunnel in the league
Good morning UWS . Hope you are well rested for this one.
Already relegated Hearts are two up at Hibs in the Edinburgh Derby.
Chelsea fans trying to sing… being muted by YNWA
Quite a song
Ivanovic moves to the center of defense as Cashley starts for the first time in a while , at right back.
Isn't that the bloke that tried to attack the ref last week
How is he still on the bench
YNWA is fantastic to show Americans the passion
We're off
Agreed , UWS, as they're off from Anfield.
I thought he would be suspended. That's a shocker.
Cashley at left back, so Azpi must have moved to right back.
Kalas, the twenty year old Czech makes his prem debut for Chelsea due to a rash of Chelsea injuries and the ageless Mark Schwarzer starts in goal for Chelsea.
Apparently, there is some kind of relegation playoff in Scotland. HIbs doing their best to join it
A draw does not really help Chelsea . In fact a loss rules them out of the title race. They will have to go for it at some pint.
If Liverpool win today AND Citeh lose at Selhurst Park… Liverpool would be Champions!
Chelsea already waisting time
Correct second from bottom is in the payoffs with the second, third and fourth place teams from the Championship.
Chelsea would be foolish to waste time as they need a win. That scenario is a definite possibility.
Shocker.. five minutes in and Liverpool haven't scored or come close to scoring!
Great save by Mignolet from Cashley.
I am expecting a cagey affair today
Almost exactly a year ago was the BITE
Did you see the betting firm Paddy Power put up a statue of David Moyes outside of Anfield today!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2614236/David-Moyes-statue-unveiled-outside-Anfield-publicity-stunt-week-Grim-Reaper-sees-sacked-Man-United-boss.html
Jose stupidly getting involved with Falnagan, trying to provoke the player, gets himself provoked and words from Kevin Friend, who does not seem to be his friend.
Kalas conceded a corner then Johnson had a shot blocked for a corner.
That statue is probably more unpopular in the red half of Manchester than at Anfield.,
HIbs get a goal back up North
Sterling volleys wide off across from Suarez. He should have done better
I was about to type that
Johnson wins a corner off of Schurrle Temple.
Chelsea have been able to hold off Liverpool so far
Sako should have scored there
CAshley clears off the line off a corner then Sako crosses as Suarez volleys it across the box and Sako blasts over
Palace could win the title for Liverpool twice!
Win today… Champs
Lose next week.. Champs
Nice that Crystal Pulis are there to offer such a helping hand.
Poor effort from Coutinho.
Salah booked for a trip on Sterling.
Chelsea just strangle the life out of games
I HATE THEM
WHy wasn't Azpa booked there!
Sterling wins a corner off of Azpi and Azpi stamps his ankle after the play was over.
Cashley with a barge on Suarez and also should have been booked.
I just sent everyone a link for the New Nike commercial…. classic
I can't believe I want Liverpool to win this
Old mates, Rodgers and Jose , sharing a joke as a poor free kick from Stevie is headed away by Lampard then Suarez has a shot blocked by Ba.
I'm looking forward to it.
I am pulling for Pool too. I think it's for the good of the game.
I HATE the way Chelsea go about playing football
People pay lots of money to be entertained!
I agree,. They are putting me to sleep. A draw doesn't really help Chelsea.
Bloody Hell… Chelsea corner flagging it in the 34 minute
Salah wins a corner off of FLanagan.
The corner from Lampard is headed up in the air by Stevie G and caught by Mignolet.
Ba wins a corner off of Sakho.
A wasted Chelsea corner as the ball goes out of play then comes back in.
More time wasting as Ivanovic pretends to be injured off a challenge from Suarez.
Hearts have beaten Hibs
A zpi clears for a corner after a poor back header from Salah.
Hearts fans are sining.. you're joining us down
If Hearts and Hibs go down… Rangers will be up there too…. quite a few good games there
There is talk that Rangers could be going into administration again and could cease to exist though!
I'm listening to Five Live
Just over from Suarez from long range.
Congratulations Chelsea… taking the thrill out of much awaited match… I HATE THEM
BLOODY HELL! That would all but kill off Scottish footie. I thought they had cleared their debts after being formed into the new club.
Bob must be apologetic to all of his guests
Lampard booked for foul on Sterling.
Useless cross by Johnson…Are you Valencia in disguise?
I agree. What will Chelsea accomplish by playing this way. Bob does have lots of apologizing to do.
The ref has been pointing to his watch all half.. how much will he add… Three minutes…. he added nothing!
In the fight to avoid the second from bottom spot in the SPL , it's a five horse race as only two points separate sixth from bottom from second from bottom.
A ref should add time when teams waste time but if they if they fall behind… it shouldn't be added
IT should have been more due to Chelsea's time wasting.
Chelsea should have buried that one!!
Agreed about the time wasting as BA wins a corner off of Sakho.
Struth.. .he was four yards out
Agreed. A poor header from the debut off the corner.
Gerrard slips and Ba nets for Chelsea
GOAL !!! BA GIVES CHELSEA THE LEAD SECONDS BEFORE HALFTIME. A HORRIBLE SLIP FROM STEVIE G AND BA SCORED WITH JUST MIGNOLET TO BEAT
So, if this score stays the same… Citeh have the title in their hands again
JOe Allen wins a corner off of Matic from a pass by Suarez.
Lucas misses a header.. half time
Lucas heads over from the corner from Coutinho and Chelsea lead thanks tot hat goal from Ba and unusual error from Stevie G.
The title race is wide open if Chelsea hold on. now they will really resort to time wasting tactics.
Of course, Chelsea score in the added time they caused!
First time Liverpool haven't scored in the first half in TWENTY-FIVE matches!
Danny Wellbeck…. did you watch Ba score one on one with a keeper… that's how you do it.. NUMPTY
Some stats : Pool fail to score in the first half for the first time in 25 matches. They have not win a Prem match this season when trailing at the half. Their last Prem loss was to Chelsea in December.
We're off in the second half… can the Kop suck in a goal or two?
The second half is underway.
I'm not sure .Jose is doing his best to block the Kop.
Suarez wins a corner.
The corner from Stevie G is headed away then cleared.
Liverpool just need to get the draw
That is correct. Otherwise this title race is wide open. That makes the next match that much more important.
Liverpool are playing like United
AN odd piece of trivia : Chelsea facing a Belgian keeper for the second time in what will be three consecutive matches.
Sturridge replaces Lucas
Salah heads out for a Pool corner and an attacking move as Sturridge is on for Lucas.
Joe Allen with a great effort… great save by the old man
Schwarzer superbly turns a round a volley from Joe Allen around the post.
Willian on for Salah , who walks off like an Egyptian.
What to say about the Cheslea goal? Stevie said Ba Humbug!
Great save by Minny
Great save by Mignolet from Schurrle Temple.
Suarez has done nowt today
Useless effort from Gerrard
Again, Liverpool look like United… Clueless
Chelsea have done a superb job on Suarez.
The crowd really need to get behind their team
More groans than singing
Willian clears for a Pool corner.
I hate Jose getting so much credit for tactics… JUST BOOODY BORING!!
WIll Palace do Liverpool a favor later?
I agree. It would help if the Kop would start chanting.
Everton also can do their bitter rivals a favor next week
Palace could . They are a tough nut to crack. Agreed about Jose.
Gerrard takes a pop
That's what they have been left trying
Schwarzer gets away with fumbling a shot from Stevie G. Schurrle Temple down with cramp. Not sure if he really does or if it's time wasting.
Liverpool players just laying down now!
If I was the ref… I wouldn't let them on for as much time as they wasted
Like I thought . Nothing wrong with Schurrle Temple or Obi Wan.
Gerrard is just shooting from distance… he's getting further away!
I agree. It's the only way Chelsea will learn.
Cahill on for Schurrle Temple.
I want Chelsea to lose midweek
Just to shut Jose up
Gerrard has been piss poor today
Another weak effort… this time with his head
Stevie G heads straight to Schwarzer off a cross from Suarez.
He won't shut up. He will go on and on about the ref, who often times has not made a mistake,.
Aspas on for Flanagan.
Thank goodness for Borini's penalty last week
Striker on for Flannagan
Sterling couldn't find the man with the cross
Sterlin g has a pass come off of Schwarzer for a corner.
