Late season Staurday Footie Concluding with Change at United
The season is drawing to a close and it's a typical triple header on NBC , starting with Sotton vs Everton followed by Fulham vs Hull City. The late match is United vs the struggling Canaries where Giggsy fills in as manager for the remainder of the season, promising that he will have United playing the United way. Well, watch and see if he does!

They're off from St. Mary's.
GOAL !!!! SOTTON TAKE AN EARLY LEAD AS ALCARAZ HEADS INTO HIS OWN GOAL FROM A CROSS FROM LAMBERT DOWN THE LEFT
Gooner should be pleased . The goal was clocked at 53 seconds as it was Sotton's opening possession. Lallana played Lambert down the left and his cross was headed in for an OG by Alcaraz, getting a rare start.
Delafeu wins a Toffees corner.
The corner from Baines is headed away then Fonte hoofs it clear.
Lambert has a long range effort deflected straight to Timmy.
That early goal was only the second conceded in the first fifteen minutes this season.
Naismith wins a corner off a through ball.
McCarthy has a shot blocked off a short corner.
Morning, MUR! Thanks for getting us going today. I'm stoked for Day 1 of the Giggsy Era at United.
Good morning Bob. You missed a really early OG. I hope Giggsy delivers on his promise because UWS would have.
Gooner must have been prank calling Alcaraz in the Everton team hotel all last night. What a great start for Soton and Arsenal fans this morning. They can smell the Wenger Cup now.
Morning Boys
OH ! Just wide by Steven Davis as Lambert went down the left like he did for the goal, but Davis could not put it away. Gallagher won a tackle off of Alcaraz.
Good morning UWS. Wish you were in charge at OT!
Correct Bob. It could be a rare double for the Gunners this season.
Morning, UWS! How are you, mate? Maybe you can be in charge of the sheep dip at OT?
I stated last week that I wouldn't be around for today's festivities but will be!
We have decided not to go to Cortland for the boring/afternoon.
We will be heading down to Binghamton for the three scrimmages starting at 5
I can't… my name is Bruce… it's Michael
Yeovil were relegated from the Championship yesterday with a 2-0 loss at Brighton. A shame as the tiny club put up a brave fight this season, but just fell short. Jesse Lingard, on loan from United, scored one of the goals.
Am I missing something , UWS ???
Good stuff from Soton through Lambert and Lalana.
Lallana wins a corner off of Stones.
Barkley heads out a corner from Davis.
Sheep dip
Off to the loo
The Toffees were dominating since the goal until a few minutes ago. It's been a good first half.
It's a Monty Python routine, MUR. "The Bruces." About a bunch of Aussie professors at the Univesrity of Wallaballoo.
Still clueless, but can relate to the loo remark.
Thanks Bob. That must have been one of the few I missed.
Bloody hell! It's another own goal! Gooner's prank calls really are working today.
GOAL !!! ANOTHER OG AS A CROSS FROM CLYNE IS DIVERTED IN BY THE UNFORTUNATE SEAMUS COLEMAN MUSTARD
Both have been headers. The Chunk would have been proud of that finish.
A nothing cross over and a cracking header into the corner of the net. Couldn't have placed it any better past Timmy.
2-0!
Shaw wins a corner off of Naismith
Lallana heads straight to Timmy off the corner.
And of course UWS missed it while in the loo. We'll need to get him a bedpan for the World Cup.
UWS would have been proud of that finish.
Great idea, Bob. I wish I would have thought of that.
I just put the World Cup matches into my Google Calendar yesterday. Really getting excited now.
Coleman has a cross headed out for a corner, not an OG, by Fonte.
Baines hits a poor corner, but gets another chance.
The next corner is headed away by Gallagher at the near post.
Great anoraking as the announcer said he saw three Sunderland OGs scored at Sunderland by the Black Cats in seven minutes during Wilko's ill fated spell in charge.
Me too, Bob. The WC starts the first week of my summer vacation.
The Toffees got away with one . Some refs would have called hand ball on Stones. His arms were out.
Great timing, MUR.
The Chunk was miles offside there.
David Pleat fails to realize that the OGs were a Gooner prank.
Ta, Bob, unless I teach Summer School.
Gooner snickering in the streets of Alex.
Burnely have taken the lead vs the Tractor Boyz.
Barry tackled by Gallgher in midfield then pulls down the young striker and is deservedly booked.
A minute of stoppage time.
I am back
The Tractor Boys are destined for another year in the Championship… couple of East Anglia derbies next season!
They have fallen behind inside 10 minutes of the second half at Turf Moor. They need to win
That's half-time: Everton down by two self-inflicted wounds.
Halftime and 2-0 to The Saints thanks to a pair of OGS by the Toffees , who have had a soft centre.
Half time
Gooners around the land are dancing.. maybe so are Canary fans… last match of the season at Carrow Road… Arsenal could be playing their tea ladies in preparation for the Cup Final
Great start to the morning for the Gooners.
If Everton don't make a comeback and Arsenal beat Newcastle on Monday, they will be four points ahead withal 6 to play for!
A change by Roberto as Leon Osman comes on.
The second half is underway/
United league position is 7th
They have four games to go and could possibly get 69 points
Everton already have 69 points and Spurs have 63
Will United finish 7th? I want that to happen. I DON'T want the Europa League!
I want United to win all 4 for Ryan… who said United will play the United way… with pace and attacking??
Hallelujah!
Will Spurs get 7 points to pip United Stoke A, West Ham A, Villa H…. I'm a little worried Spurs will slip up!!
Tony has been invited to the last match of the season at WHL
I guess Gooners will be singing in Toon if they win on Monday as Sotton have been real Saints in helping their cause thanks to a soft centre by their opponents.
Those two results would just about seal it for the Gooners.
Don't know why I thought of this goal but it popped up in my head… the beauty of YouTube… found it right away BRILLIANT GOAL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0z_arXZ8nM
Sounds like the Spuds may . You said United could end up on 69 points Will they be "screwed." Lovely 69.
I do believe that that Soton fan was sticking her tongue out at us. Cheeky!
Did anyone see that there was a birthday in the Goldstein household yesterday?
We missed a Bday?
Yes. A certain canine!
Missed it… not on Book Face
High and wide by Lallana.
Correct . Elizabeth posted a cute picture. She put balloons on the mailbox, pizza and beer for dinner, Happy Birthday banners, and a rawhide chewy for Sparky.
McGeady on for Delafeu , then Barry fouls Jack Cork just outside the Toffees box.
OH! Just wide by Lambert on the free kick.
Did you watch the link?
I'm watching old Goals of the season links right now
Most from ITV
I miss the commentators
I have not yet.
Osman in the book for diving
Leon Osman booked for a dive off a tackle by Jack Cork.
Wanayama called for a foul on McCarthy.
The Chunk heads straight to Boruc off a cross from McGeady , who gave Nat Clyne the slip.
Already promoted Burnley have defeated the Tractor Boyz 1-0 and Ipswich's hopes of making the playoffs have suffered a huge setback.
SHUT IT PLEAT! I hate his stupid remarks.
Ipswich's hope haven't just suffered a huge setback… it is done for!
Impossible now
The Saints win a corner.
That's a shame. I picked Forest and Brighton for promotion and both are in contention for a playoff spot. They face each other next week!
Did you know that Yeovil were relegated yesterday? They put up a brave fight this season.
I did see that
That result doomed Ipswich too
Lallana wins a corner when he wanted a hand ball on Stones. Never a pen.
It helped me in the PPP.
Naughty by Gallagher on Baines.
You have had a naughty start this morning by mentioning United and 69. Screwed if they end up with that points total.
James Ward_ Prose on for Sam Gallagher as Pochettino shuts up shop.
As Pleat says, the CL spots are almost done and dusted. The Championship could be wrapped up as well this weekend
People have said this has been one of the most exciting endings in years… WHY?
Don't they remember United losing the league after they had finished playing in '12. Don't they remember United coming back and beating Spurs and Arsenal watching in vain
This could be a really boring end
It all depends upon the result at Anfield tomorrow. It is exciting at the other end of the table. Relegation and the final playoff spot in the Championship still up for grabs.
Never a pen. Six of one and half a dozen of the other.
That actually should have been a penalty to the Toffees as Loveren obstructed McCArthy.
David Pleat doesn't like Sotton
I don't think that was a pen
NBC lost coverage!
YIKES! The satellite just went out.
The bottom could be decided too!
NBC actually have to go to a commercial
It's back
That sucks! I think relegation will go tot the final game of the season. Back to St. Mary's
A bright and early start tomorrow. The first match kicks off at 7 AM EDT. Will you be around for all the action?
I'll be here
Toffees fans headed for the exits ahead of the trip back to Merseyside.
Great. I will be getting up earlier than I do for school. Looking forward to the pleasure of your company.
Will Giggs be in a suit or suited up in a tracksuit ready to go on? Remember, still hasn't scored in the league yet… not may more to get the goal
Do Prado is on for a rare appearance, coming on for Steven Davis.
If I miss the very beginning of the match… I will show up soon
Probably a tracksuit because he said he might pick himself.
Three minutes of stoppage time.
I thought he said he wanted United to play with pace… he's lost his
Same here too. I need to take Elizabeth and Jacquelyn to Wal-Mart.
Excellent point, UWS. That's why you should have been in charge instead of Giggsy.
The Saints win 2-0 and goner will be delighted as both OGs were part of a Gooner prank.
That's it
Sotton win without scoring!!
I am off to shower, shave and walk
I'll be back for the mid games at some point
I'm back for the regular kickoffs now. Here are the teams lining up in the tunnel at the Cottage:
Fulham: Stockdale, Heitinga, Hangeland, Amorebieta, Riether, Parker, Diarra, Riise, Sidwell, Holtby, Rodallega. Subs: Stekelenburg, Kasami, Richardson, Dejagah, Woodrow, Roberts, Bent.
Hull: Harper, Chester, Bruce, Davies, Rosenior, Livermore, Huddlestone, Meyler, Elmohamady, Long, Jelavic. Subs: Koren, Fryatt, Jakupovic, Boyd, Sagbo, Aluko, Quinn.
Referee: Lee Mason
In our second to last match of the season, Leeds are traveling to relegated-threatened Brum.
Fulham get us underway at the Cottage now.
Oh - Riise with a trademark shot there - just wide of the mark.
Felix Magath looks customarily grumpy on the bench.
Back for Fulham vs Hull City. Yellows will be hoping for a Tigers win.
Hello Bob. Brum have only won twice at St. Andrews all season. Surely, the Whites will get something out of this match.
Indeed he will be, along with a big win away at OT.
Let's hope so, MUR. Let's hope so.
I like Felix. Seems like a decent chap from what I've seen on the interviews.
Watford are 0-1 up away to Derby early doors. Goal by Sean Deeney.
The away win at OT is a bit of a stretch.
Derby are safely into the playoffs so they don't have much to play for this weekend.
Young Fergie down early at the Shrews while Northants have a much needed early lead at Daggenham
Oh - Big Roddalega should have done better with that chance. Fulham may regret that miss.
Agreed Bob. The Baggies with a vital early lead vs the Hammers. Bolton early at NOT a Big Club in a meaningless match
Wahay - Bolton have taken the lead at Not a Big Club.
Swansea up vs Villa and would be basically safe with a win.
Berahino with the Baggies goal and the Bone for the Swans.
El Mohamady picks up a yellow for a fairly obvious dive.
Jelavic heads straight to Stockdale while el Mohammedy booked for diving. He needs to walk like an Egyptian.
Young Fergie tie it up in the taming of the Shrews.
Northants two up at Daggenham while fellow strugglers, Bristol Rovers, take the lead at Wycombe wanderers
Big goal at the Hawthorns there. The Baggies now rise to 15th and put a lot of pressure on Villa and Norwich. If Fulham could get a result here today, it'll drag several sides into the mix.
Rochdale two up vs Cheltenham on their way to promotion.
WE had a birthday at our house yesterday.
Bury take the lead vs Pompey, who are already safe.
Jelavic booked for a foul on Sacha Riether and would do well to shut it.
Atrocious free kick from Holtby.
Bob will be pleased to hear that Bolton are two up at Not a Big Club even though the result is basically meaningless.
Who's birthday was that, MUR?
It's really the taming of the Shrews as Young Fergie are 1-2 up Wycombe tie it up vs Bristol Rovers in a relegation six pointer
Villa are level now through Gabby Ag.
A certain loveable canine that Elizabeth posted on FB yesterday. He was pampered yesterday.
Stockdale sidefoots one into touch. Not sure what he's playing at there.
BOTH teams are a win away from safety. Donny take the lead vs Reading . That sets me up nicely in the PPP, especially Forest win at Bournemouth.
Rosenior has a shot deflect off of Amoriebieta for a corner.
Swansea back on top.
Brucey's son has a header blocked by Risse off corner that is eventually cleared.
Another goal at Swansea - to the home side! It's Mr. Clean lookalike Jonjo Shelvy with the goal. "An absolute screamer from just inside the center circle" according to Football 365. Sounds like a Goal of the Season contender.
Shelvey with a goal from near the halfway line!
Didn't Roon score a similar one at Upton Park?
Bolton are 0-2 up now at Not a Big Club. Couldn't be happier.
Donny have taken the lead at Reading.
Blackburn are 0-1 up away to Charlton.
And Derby have equalized against Watford.
Derby tie it up vs Watford while Blackburn take the lead at Charlton/
I think so - yeah.
YOu will be even happier now that Bolton are three up.
THeSpuds take the lead at the Brittania
0-3 Bolton!
Colchester two up vs already promoted Brentford. The Essex club need a win that should keep hem up this season.
AMoriebieta wins a Fulham corner while the Foxes , already champs., take the lead at Hudders
Danny Rose headed the Spuds into the lead.
Spurs are destined for the Europa again.
Young Fergie really taming the Shrews as they are 1-3 up.
It seems that way. a naughty stat from UWS : United will end up with 69 points if they win all four matches while Giggsy is in charge.
Argyle take the lead vs Jeff's team while already relegated Fawlty Towers are two up at Jayne Mansfield.
The only game that's goalless in the Premiership is, of course, this one.
Fleetwood Mac take the lead vs Southend
NO birthday comment. Rather naughty from our Bob.
Long goes down but Lee Mason waves play on. I'd have booked Long.
Not a big Club pull one back while Shane Long went down really easily and a pen would have been harsh on the Fake Cottagers
ME too.
BUGGER!!! Bournemouth take the lead vs Forest. That does not help me in the PPP.
Jake Livermore booked for a cheap shot on Rodallega
THE Shrews score and now trail Young Fergie 2-3.
NORthants three at Daggenham while Morecambe and Wise score two quick goals at the Real Dons
Halftime and of course the televised match is the only scoreless match in the Prem.
Half-time at the Cottage. 0-0. Doesn't help Fulham at all.
Hey Boys
Sorry I've away
Just got back from walkies
What a lovely goal by Shelby
Half time at St. Andrews as well. 0-0. Not surprised.
As the table stands…
Swansea would be officially safe
Hull 37pt three to play
West Ham 37 2
WBA 36 3
Villa 35 3
Norwich 32 3
Fulham 31 2
Cardiff 30 3
Sunderland 29 4
Actually Sunderland or Sunderland could catch Swansea but not both
Cardiff can only tie on points but be way behind on goals so it would be just mathematically possible
Check out the beard of some bloke playing for Huddersfield on the BBC Prem Website at 15:53 post
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27156914
Off again at he Cottage.. not in Fredonia but London
Hull get us underway in the second half.
The second half is underway as Dejagah is on for Risse . A positive move as Richardson won a corner and Rodallega headed wide.
Bournemouth two up vs FORest. Not good for me in the PPP.
Bournemouth two up against Forest.. Forest's chances are done.. Bournemouth holding on
That link totally crashed my computer, mate.
Bournemouth now 2-0 up on Forest - MUR not best pleased.
If scores stay the same with one game to go
Derby 82
QPR 77
Wigan 71… has 2 remaining
Brighton 69
Reading 67
Rovers 67
Bournemouth 66
That's it
Definitely a spectacular goal by Shelvey in the rain in south Wales while it is sunny in West London.
What link… the BBC!!!!!
