Woy's Boys Spend 24 Hours in Tallinn
Morning, everyone. Welcome to another day of random France '16 qualifiers. At high noon, England take on Estonia in their medieval capital - Tallinn. Let's hope that Woy and the squad didn't get a bowl of dodgy borscht last night and are ready to turn out a professional outing. So far, so good in the qualifying campaign - two played, two won, seven goals scored, none conceded. Let's keep it going. Join me, won't you?

Good morning , Bob. Great post. It looks like a lovely holiday location. A really scenic port city.
The match is being televised on ESPN Deportes. Unless you get a Latin channel package then you will need a link. I will be using espn3.com.
Morning, MUR - I wouldn't a weekend in Tallinn either. Lovely spot. I'm going to use the Fox Soccer 2Go link, if I can.
Here are the starting line-ups for this afternoon's clash:
Estonia: Pareiko, Jaager, Morozov, Klavan, Pikk, Mets, Antonov, Vunk, Vassiljev, Zenjov, Anier. Subs: Aksalu, Lindpere, Barengrub, Kruglov, Dmitrijev, Saag, Hunt, Ojamaa, Kams, Artjunin, Teniste, Londak.
England: Hart, Chambers, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines, Wilshere; Henderson, Delph; Lallana; Welbeck, Rooney. Subs: Foster, Clyne, Gibbs, Shelvey, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Townsend, Sterling, Lambert, Forster.
Referee: Marijo Strahonja (Croatia)
I loaded the espn link and it says my event is about to begin. Let's hope England do as well. Sterling rested for this match. Is this overconfidence or being overly cautious?
Lovely Jubbly! My link is on . It's 50 degrees with calm winds. Perfect conditions. No excuses for England.
The main news out of Group E is that Slovenia look to be England's main rivals for top spot in the group. They are at nearby Lithuania later this afternoon.
The teams are out of the tunnel. Bloody Pleat is one of the announcers.
It must be about 7 PM local time in Tallin. That's tea time in Blighty.
Anthems now...
A really muted response from the crowd. the apparently blue collar fans seem to want to skip the pomp and circumstance.
I am not familiar with any of the Estonian players. One of their players plays for Blackpool. I guess the best ones usually play in the Russian Premier League.
England in their traditional away kits. White clashes with blue , but not red?
England get us underway wearing red. Come on!
Bob may be interested to know that Barnsley defeated Bradford City 3-1 in a Yorkshire Derby.
Early scare with Zenjov shooting just wide of Hart's near post.
They're off.
YZenjov has a shot deflected for a corner.
Delph fails to properly clear the corner and the Estonian number 9 volleys well over.
I think my link is about thirty seconds behind yours.
Just glad that we don't have to meet all those Yorkshire sides this year.
Woy has made three changes from the match vs San Marino: Delph for Milner, Lallana for Sterling , and Baines for Gibbs. The LUFC Academy factor remains unchanged.
Actually it remains unchanged from last year. Rotherham replaced Barnsley. They are in almost identical locations. Your team plays there on Friday.
Roon is tackled for a corner.
The corner from Baines is headed away then hoofed away.
I wished that Pleat would have been replaced.
England win a free kick for hand ball.
Jordan Henderson has a shot blocked off the free kick from Baines.
Estonia are lining up just like San Marino. It looks like the same match from Thursday
Useless pass from Roon.
I've got Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend on my link.
Lallana has a shot blocked from a sea of blue and black
Clever Boy!
It's hard to believe that none of the early matches are being televised.
The camera angle is fairly crap on my link. How about yours? Looks like the feed is coming from Estonia TV.
A horrible foul by Vunk on Henderson. He should have been booked.
Yes. It sounds like mine is also coming from Estonian television. Just a different commentary team.
Will you be around for the 2:45 matches or the % pm friendly between Mexico and Panama?
Good to hear the England Brass Band loud and clear. Not happy with England so far, though.
OH! Roon missed a sitter. Superb lofted ball from Young Jack and Roon volleyed over with just the keeper to beat
Oh - best chance so far. Baines into Roon. He should have tapped that one in.
Just like Thursday?
I guess 0-2 to England would be mission accomplished.
Same old Roon - he missed a boatload of chances on Friday too. He could easily be beyond Greavsie at this point.
Crap camera angle . Roon missed a shot but it was cleared for a corner that was taken by Baines and headed away
Agreed. Roon is well beyond his peak.
The guys have just shown up to seal up my driveway - poor timing - I'll be back shortly.
Will you be around for the later action today
Cheers mate. I hope you don't miss a goal. Not with that scuffed shot by Roon.
Pleat wants Delph to get on the ball. Dirty old man!
I'm back - that didn't take too long. No goals missed. I need to escort Kate to a memorial service later this afternoon. One of her colleagues died during the week.
Same old Pleatie.
I think the announcer is talking about Mart Poom. England need to see if the current keeper is of the same caliber.
Oh dear from Delph there. Into Row W.
Welcome back, mate. He is disrespecting the LUFC Academy. Highly unacceptable!
Surely he didn't learn that from the LUFC Academy!
Somehow, I am 30- 60 seconds behind you.
We don't teach that at the LUFC Academy.
The first goal of the day as Austria take the lead vs Montenegro.
That's what I thought.
Montenegro not doing so well in this campaign.
Lallana with a shot scooped wide as a corner as headed down.
They need to as they have Russia , Sweden, and Austria challenging them for second and third spots.
The 2:45 action. is Luxembourg vs Spain on FS 1 and Sweden vs Liechtenstein on FS 2.
First yellow of the night to the Estonia skipper Klavan.
LOL! An Estonian shot went out for a throw ten yards from the corner flag.
About time that happened.
was the foul on Wellie any worse than some of the earlier challenges?
Pleat says England have not had any clear chances. How about the missed sitter from Roon and the chance from Lallana?
Probably not - just cynical. Klavan knew that he couldn't let Welly go past him.
Pleat's watching another match. Roon should have done better there.
According to Pleat the band's origins are from Not a Big Club. Does that make them Not a Big Band? Lacking polish from the brass?
Once England score , I don't see Estonia coming back.
Only decent thing to come out of Sheffield.
Lallana gets to the by-line but his pull back is into the keeper's arms.
OH!!! Wellie nearly gave England the lead. AN outstretched boot blocked his goal ward effort. Nice break from England.
Nice tackle by Young Jack as he goes on a solo run and his shot goes into the side netting.
How about cutlery? That is better than the brass band.
A long Estonian free kick gives Hart some catching practice.
Well, Sheffield is the steel town.
Chambers with a wayward ball across the backline. Why do people think he's a better option than Glen Johnson or Kyle Walker?
Roon heads wide off a cross from Delph? Why is Pleat blaming Delph? It was Roon with the poor header.
Agreed - Roon has been poor tonight.
I don't think he is. With more experience he may be. If John Flanagan regains fitness, he should start.
Will you be around for the later action or any of the action tomorrow?
Not this afternoon - I've got that memorial service. Tomorrow afternoon might be okay, though.
England with 70% of the possession , but have done precious little with it.
Sorry to hear that. I wasn't on FB yesterday. I hope everything goes as well as possible.
Henderson has a long range effort straight at the keeper.
True - England should be two up at least. Estonia are not offering much of a threat. I don't know why we play a holding in a match like this one.
Baines has picked up a yellow late on in the half.
A minute of stoppage time.
That's half time, then. 0-0. We need to do much better in the second half.
I agree. release the hounds! England need three points.
The free kick is easily cleared and it's 0-0 at the half.
In the words of UWS, where's the quality?
Ruben Okotie with that 24th minute goal for Austria vs Monte has scored the only Euro qualifying goal so far today.
Ukraine are one up at the half vs Macedonia with a really late first half goal.
England players are back on the pitch followed by the Estonian players.
The Brass Band is playing and England fans are in full voice. Joel Limpere is on as a second half sub. Finally a player that I know.
The second half is underway.
Bob may be interested to know that Cambridge vs Oxford ins on BEIN. Footie , not rowboat racing on the Thames.
Looks like the skipper Klavan is off!
Yes - second cautionable offense clobbering Delph.
Time for England to push on then. Free kick chance to start with.
Roon and Baines over this one.
WAY HAY!!! KLAVAN HAS BEEN SENT OFF FOR A SECOND YELLOW, FOR A FOUL ON DELPHH!! That will hurt as he's their captain and best defender.
A great position.
Roon launches one well over the mark - poor.
The free kick from Roon is too high.
Klavan's hobby is making a fool of himself in front of his fans.
If you want to see goals then Cambridge vs Oxford has just kicked off on BEIN.
Isn't that the Limper who's played in the MLS?
Henderson picks up a cheap yellow there.
Time for some changes, for sure.
Henderson booked for an innocuous foul.
Ukraine are 1-0 up over Macedonia - goal from Sydorchuk.
It is the same Limpere. He should have started.
Cambridge vs Oxford on BEIN.
Wellie has a shot blocked then Young Jack.
The Ox about to come on - he was good the other night against San Marino.
Baines with a chance at goal now...
Deflected out for a corner.
Vunk commits a foul just outside the box.
He did make a big difference.
The free kick from Baines is deflected for a corner. The corner from Baines is cleared then the cross from Baines is straight to the keeper./
And now Cahill has conceded a silly free kick.
Poland vs Germany must surely be the shock result of qualifying so far. The Jocks and Irish will not be pleased.
Definitely stupid.
The free kick is high and wide.
Lallana and Chambers play a one-two. The cross from Lallana is straight to the keeper.
Definitely - not a good result for the Jocks and Irish.
The Ox on for Delph now - good move. Fab wasn't getting it done.
The Ox on for Delph. I agree with that.
Come on, England!
Now Sterling is on for Henderson. Not sure why it wasn't a double substitution.
The televised matches tomorrow at 2:45 are wales vs Cyprus on FS 2 and Iceland vs Holland on FS 1. I think those are decent matches.
And England have a free kick chance. Come on!
A clumsy foul by Limpere on Baines.
Agreed that it should have been a double substitution.
The Icelanders did well the other day.
Still only two Euro qualifying goals today.
Phew - late flag there on Zenjov. He had stripped Roon of the ball and was off to the races.
Yes. They have been a pleasant surprise. They made the World Cup playoffs. Don't be surprised to see them as part of Euro 2016.
Thankfully he was a mile offside.
Morozov clears a cross from Ox for a corner.
Cahill heads over from the corner.
England haven't done any better against ten men than eleven.
Great ball over by Chambers and The Ox should have put his head on it.
Miss timed header from Ox then hoofed away by Estonia.
Poor cross/shot from Roon is straight to the keeper.
Twenty minutes left for England to get a late goal and kill this one off.
A solo run by the Ox , but the last touch was off him for a goal kick.
Bit of a gift from the ref there - free kick just outside the box.
Looks like Roon and Baines over it again. Come on!
Sterling is fouled inches outside the box after a solo run and blocked shot.
GOAL! Finally! Brilliant goal by Roon = 43rd international goal.
We needed that!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
THE FREE KICK FROM ROON IS PUSHED IN TO THE GOAL AT THE NEAR POST BY THE KEEPER.
PHEW!!!! about time..
Another England goal will kill this off. Some great substitutions from Woy.
England go on to nine points from three with a +8 record. That was a big, big goal.
Russia take the lead vs Moldova.
It was really massive. It will be hard for the ten men to come back. England need to see this out.
Is Roon the new Beckham. Plays for United, slows down the play, scores the occasional free kick goal?
Another England corner now.
At least Beckham could cross.
Moldova tie it up almost immediately in Moscow.
Chambers wins an England corner.,
Limpere heads away the corner from Baines.
Change for both teams. Rickie Lambert coming on for a late cameo for Welly.
Rickie Lambert on for Wellie and Estonia with a change as Ojaama on loan to Motherwell, is on for Zenjov.
Lambert can pound on the tired Estonian defenders or could nick a goal off a set piece.
Kruglov on for Vunk as the Estonians have made their final substitution.
Phew - the free kick skipped right through the wall and into Hart's grateful arms.
Young Jack with a late booking.
Oh - The Ox teed one up for Roon but he got the header all wrong.
OH!! A cross from OX was sliced across the box from Roon then Sterling has a shot blocked. Estonia cannot keep possession.
Wilshere is upended there. Another free kick chance.
oH!!! superb long ball from Young Jack and the keeper did well to save at the feet of Roon.
Stick in another one, Roon!
Not this time.
Morozov fouls Young Jack just outside the box.
Curled high and wide by Roon.
That's it - not impressive but they've ground out a win on the road. Three games in and the campaign is effectively won, especially given the Swiss result last week. We'll easily qualify for France. But will we do anything in that tournament with this side?
It's over and England win 0-1 in Tallin. A mediocre performance, but it's three points and a clean sheet as well as no injuries.
That's a good question. I'm not building up my hopes for June 2016.
Austria have defeated Montenegro 1-0 and Russia have been surprisingly held 1-1 by Moldova in Moscow.
Ukraine lead Macedonia 1-0 late in stoppage time.
It's over and Ukraine have defeated Macedonia 1-0. That's three one nillers and a 1-1. Perhaps there will be more goals later this afternoon.
