Another Big Leeds Evening in the Premier League!
It's another big Premier League evening at Elland Road for my beloved Leeds United. We've had a brilliant start to the season but we need to continue the momentum that we had before the international break. Based oon my patented survival metric, we only need to get a point today against Wolves, as they were a top half side last season. I'd also like to see some goals, so, say, a 3-3 thriller would suit me to a tee. Come on, you Whites! #MOT!

Good afternoon, Bob.
COME ON LEEDS!
MOT!
LET'S BEAT THOSE WOLVES!
Afternoon, David - I hope that you're having a good one. I'm marooned in the office watching the boys on my phone. Enjoying the Robbie Mustoe comments about Leeds right now.
Thank you, Bob. It's been a relaxing day to this point .
The team news out of Yorkshire tonight:
Leeds: Meslier, Ayling, Koch, Cooper, Dallas, Phillips, Costa, Klich, Harrison, Rodrigo, Bamford. Subs: Casilla, Alioski, Struijk, Roberts, Hernandez, Poveda, Raphinha.
Wolves: Patricio, Semedo, Boly, Coady, Kilman, Saïss, Dendoncker, Moutinho, Neto, Podence, Jiménez. Subs: Ruddy, Hoever, Marcal, Neves, Silva, Traore, Otasowie.
The early match ended and the first 0-0 result of the season as it finished Baggies 0 Burnley 0. You should be satisfied as the bottom four all drew with each other this weekend
Looks like an attacking line-up to me, with Jack Harrison back in the fold joining Klich, Rodrigo and Lord Bamford all bombing forward. Great to see Pablo back on the bench, too.
That's a perfect result for us. It keeps both sides in the bottom four, as you say, and well away from us.
I know it's early in the season, but I think 35 or 36 points will be enough to survive this season since the lower sides are dropping lots of points . I wonder what 538.com would say
Unlike previous years , Leeds have a fair number of players returning from international duty, including some of the subs
It looks a fairly attacking lineup similar to the style they have been playing under Bielsa
I just turned on the show and they said that Mini Cooper is out of the starting lineup. Is it a mechanical issue?
Uh oh - the skipper is out with a knock sustained during the warm-up.
Not sure who would be the replacement to keep the car door shut at the back
If Leeds won the they move up to third place which is nosebleed territory for Bob, meaning the match Friday would be second vs third
Teams coming out on the sacred turf at Elland Road. MOT!
That's crazy talk, MUR - I'd be satisfied with a point tonight.
Wolves in all burgundy. How does gold clash with white?
Didn't like the fact that we only heard one verse of MOT due to NBC going to the split screen commercial
Gareth on scouting duty watching at least one player from each side
They're off from ER.
COME ON LEEDS!
MOT!
Martin Tyler and David Prutton doing the commentary tonight. And we're away at Elland Road!
Martin Tyler says this is Wolves third kit which looks more like the kit for the Portuguese national team. I guess that makes sense due to the large Portuguese contingent
Struijch in place of Mini Cooper. Hope he prevent s Wolves struichjchers from scoring. Sound about right?
Pass from Helder Costa cleared for a corner taken by Kal Phillips and headed away
Then the return cross is headed down then passed to Bamford , who slices a shot wide
Helder Costa brought down by a less than Pre Saiss tackle.
Oh - a half chance there for Patrick after a nice flick to set him up. Didn't quite get it right.
Free kick chance now for us now. Training pitch routine nearly caught Wolves out.
Samedo cuts out a slide rule pass for a Leeds corner.
We've made a really bright start so far and now have a corner. Come on!
BUGGER ! BAMFORD SCORED OFF A TRAINING GROUND ROUTINE OFF THE CORNER . IT WAS PLAYED TO THE D AND HEAED ON BY STRUIJCH THEN HEADED IN BY BAMFORD WHO WAS OFFSIDE
Afternoon Lads.
Bob, Paul's Boutique is on your GDrive.
Whites are having the best of the opening minutes. Lord Bam a little late to get back onside or you'd already be 1-up.
Agreed. It's been a really positive start from Leeds
Oh - I thought we'd scored there after another clever training pitch routine.
Shame.
Good afternoon, Steve . How have you been?
Hey boys,
Good start for Leeds
I will only be here for the first half but I'll be on your side mate for the whole match in spirit
Is that a penalty?
I guess no check
Nice trickery from Helder Costa . Thought he was tripped in the box. The replay showed Costa actually stepped on the defender's foot
Doing ok here David. Hiya Dave and Bob.
Good afternoon,, Dave. How have you been?
Leeds playing with pace. Great to see
Danny Podence down for Wolves
Wish my United played at the same pace as this United
Welcome, Steve - thanks for joining in this afternoon. I appreciate the Beasties assist!
Hiya, Dave! Welcome!
Finally, we get back going!
Play resumes after a lengthy stoppage
Podence is making quite the meal of a tap on the bonce. I wish the refs would escort him to the touchline after a minute of injury stoppage.
We're back underway again - Podence seems okay to continue.
That's a going to be a minimum of three stoppage time minutes
Wolves man down again...got a yellow card..for what?
Ayling picks up a yellow for some reason - seemed fairly innocuous to me. Clumsy.
It's the same bloke that was down in the first place
He doesn't want to play football....he wants to be an actor!
An Ayling challenge results in an early booking. He barely touched the player. Is the ref going to be card happy and book players for taps?
Leeds attack so fast and entertaining!
Big chance there that Costa screws very wide.
Oh - lovely move from us ending with a shot by Helder that just fizzed wide. Deserved a better finish.
Helder Costa drags a shot wide. Nice pass down the right to Bamford from Klich , ho passed to Rodrigo and laid it off for that chance
Both sides playing some really entertaining stuff.
Martin Tyler says Wolves have failed to score in six out of 26 of the last Prem first halves. They're definitely a second half team
Sounds like Leeds should score early and often based on that stat
Five Clarke's in the footballing family as well as the 60s rock group. Not the same Clarkes though
Pedro Neto called for a foul on Stu Dallas off a clearance from Samedo
Free kick chance now - but cleared out.
Wolves counter off the Leeds free kick and Neto called for a foul in the Leeds box
Martin Tyler said that Leeds is the hardest working team in terms of distance covered so far this season. Bob will be pleased to read that
OH! An Ayling shot was blocked a couple of yards in front of the goal
Ayling has a go but it's blocked out.
An Ayling cross is headed wide by Rodrigo
Nice cross over from Ayling now and Rodrigo just couldn't connect. But it's nice to see us playing with two target men up front.
A win by the hosts today would move them to THIRD in the table!!!
Leeds out shooting Wolves 6-0, but unfortunately only one has been on target
Pedro Neto wins a Wolves corner
Two men up front....who'da thunk it
Didn't like to see how Neto burned Stu Dallas for pace there. Struijk had to bail him out.
Raul Jimenez volleys high and wide off the corner
That would be nosebleed territory for Bob and would mean second vs third on Friday
That's crazy talk, Dave. I'd be happy with a point and just staying in the top half at this point.
I'll take a point away to Villa on Friday, as well.
Two men up front....who'da thunk it
OH ! Thought Connor Coady cleared for a Leeds corner off a volleyed pass , but given as a goal kick
Oh - nice move there. Should have been a corner. I don't think that Patrick actually got to it.
Bamford should have scored!
Crazy talk?
The absolute truth
A win tonight and at Villa Park......would put them joint top.... FACT
Jack Clarke wins a corner off of Samedo
Come on - let's make the most of this corner chance!
Shot from Harrison off the corner blocked for another
Harrison with a chance.... another chance missed!
Another shot... Rodrigo gets it on target...saved
Rodrigo shoots straight at Rui Patricio off the next corner
Oh - Jack should have put his laces through that.
Now Rodrigo has a go. Saved by Rui Patricio.
Bielsa NOT sitting on his bucket
Joao Moutinho stupidly Kliched down for a Wolves free kick
Mark 'em up!
Meslier punches away the long free kick from Pedro Neto, which results in a Leeds free kick as we enter a pair of stoppage time minutes
Max Kilman tackles Helder Costa for a Leeds corner
last chance saloon...do a West Ham
and they go back to the keeper.....grrrrr
Great save!!!
Phew!!
Half time
Leeds up all over the place except the scoreboard!
OH! Great reflex save by Meslier from Danny Podence from the edge of the box on a Wolves counter and it's 0-0 at the half which Leeds dominated
Oh - great save by Meslier to save us going in 0-1 down.
That's half-time then. I'm reasonably pleased by that, as we've had the upper hand. I'd like a buffer of a goal right after half time to capitalize on that.
I'm off home to enjoy the second half at the Cottage.
That's it for me boys
I will follow the second half on the radio or on my phone
I'll be around for United with out Greenwood and Cavani in the squad... if there is a link available
Best of luck for the second half Bob
TTFN
Cheerio Dave. I'm reasonably pleased with that for Leeds. If Ayling's shot or Rodriqo's effort had gone in, that would have been better. Still, very much in this match.
I'm safely ensconced in my easy chair for the second half. MOT!
We're away in the second half then.
The second half is underway from ER!
Cheers, Dave . Look forward to chatting on CBS Access tomorrow
Bob, glad your in the comfy chair at the Cottage. That should inspire Leeds to a win
Naughty by Dendoncker on Kal Phillips
Free kick chance now - come on!
Straight into Rui Patricio's arms - the deliveries have to be better, Kal.
Free kick from Kal Phillips caught by Rui Patricio
Samedo wins a Wolves free kick
BUGGER ! SAISS GIVES WOLVES THE LEAD WITH A ROCKET OF A SHOT FROM THE EDGE OF THE OF THE BOX. VAR CHECKING FOR OFFSIDE.
Bugger! Saiss has fired Wolves into the lead. Unfortunately that was coming.
0-1.
VAR check now - come on, VAR - do your biz.
PHEW! Danny Podence offside off the long diagonal from Connor Coady. Still 0-0
Phew! It's called offside. But that's a warning sign for sure. We need to pick up the pace again.
VAR says No Goal! Take that Portugeezers.
Agreed. Wolves have had a strong start to the second half. They have been a second half team since their promotion to the Prem
Agreed. They've come out with more intent than they showed in the first half. Leeds need to match up a bit.
Agreed, Steve. That was a Pre SAISS decision to disallow the goal
Meslier does well to turn around a curling long range shot from Danny Podence
Now Podense works Meslier - great tip around.
Better from us - a couple of good moves with decent centers in from Jack.
Marcelo will need to switch things up before long. I'd probably have Rodrigo or Helder off for Pablo now.
Kal Phillips booked for stepping on Moutinho's foot
Silly yellow card for Kal to pick up. It's those kinds of things that leads to suspensions during the season. We don't have enough cover for him.
Pablo would be a good player to bring on despite his advanced age. He can provide that moment of genius needed to win a match
Not really what I wanted to see coming off the bench - Adama Traore. He can be dangerous.
Oh - Patrick nearly brought that down for a shot on target. Just got away from him.
Another ten minutes or so and it'll be interesting to see if Marcelo just plays to protect the point.
Not unhappy to see Podense go off - he was dangerous for a few moments.
Moutinho picks up a yellow now.
BUGGER! RAUL JIMENEZ GIVES WOLVES THE LEAD WITH A DEFLECTED SHOT
Sorry Bob. Leeds can come back
COME ON LEEDS! MOT!
It goes from bad to worse for Leeds as Struijch looks like he may not be able to continue. They already lost Mini Cooper in that position
I think Meslier might have gotten to that if it hadn't come off Phillips. After that, no chance. I think Struijik might have been more decisive too.
All still to play for. And here comes Pablo, a sight for sore eyes. MOT.
I'm sickened by that. Come on, boys - let's get it back.
Ian Poveda on for Helder. And Pablo coming on next.
Better pressure from us now. MOT!
Ah - too bad. great move but the final ball by Jack was too high.
Patrick wins a great corner there off a lost cause.
Pablo to swing one in now - too long.
Oh - Pablo stabs at a shot and it's deflected just up and over for another corner.
Pablo Hernandez with a shot deflected just over
This is a good response from the whites. They're not giving up at all.
Raphina on for Jack Harrison
Now it's Ruben Neves coming on - he's dangerous as well.
And a debut for our new boy Raphinha. Come on, boy - get your debut goal!
Like for Like for Wolves as Ruben Neves on for Joao Moutinho , his compatriot
OH! Close range shot from Poveda deflected across the box
Nice idea by Pablo but it just didn't come off.
Wolves playacting now. That's beneath them.
Now it's handbags. This plays into Wolves advantage.
Half a dozen stoppage time minutes
Six minutes of stoppage time to come. Plenty of time. Come on!
Jimenez definitely kicked out and deserved a card. Nasty he's still a nasty piece of work when the day's done.
Phew! It looked like Neves was going to finish us off there.
Last gasp defending prevents Neves from finishing this one off. C'mon Leeds.
Ach! Raphinha got to the by-line but his final ball was rubbish.
Poveda earns us a cheap one. Let's make it count!
It's now or never now!
Late Leeds corner
Corner now - we need this one to fly in!
It's over and Wolves win 0-1 . Sorry, Bob. I thought Leeds were unlucky to lose
Wolves up to sixth and Leeds down to tenth
Bugger. That was a very closely fought thing. Some better luck and that would easily have gone down as a draw. Sorry Bob.
Bugger! That's it - we've been robbed tonight. We should have at least got that point that I had hoped for.
It's a loss but not a devastating one. We're still on 7 points from 5 now. We drop to 10th. Still have 43 points to get for survival.

The match Friday is on Peacock. Should be televised
To be honest I think thirty more points should do it
I'm off back over to campus for my class now. Thanks for the chat, boys. Talk to you soon.
Cheers, Bob. Great chatting . Sorry about the result. Hope you're around for the matches tomorrow.
CHEERS!
