A Snow Weekend of Footie
I'm waking up to a fresh blanket of snow outside, so there is nothing else to it but to settle in for some of the good stuff. We start off with a faltering Arsenal away to Aston Villa. That's followed by the usual 10am fixtures, where I'll have my eye firmly on Goodison Park, where my beloved Leeds will be engaged in a relegation dogfight with Sean Dyche's Everton side. We finish up with Newcastle v. Liverpool.
Join me for all of the fun, eh?

I'm just settling in and it's already 1-1 in the early one, goals for Ollie Watkins and Bukayo Saka.
Coutinho fires Villa back into the lead.
Citeh are now level on points with the Arsenal but well ahead on GD and goals scored. United are five points off the top.
Villa meanwhile are no longer part of the relegation battle, on 31 points.
Handbags now between Saka and Coutinho.
Halftime arrives and the title challengers are 2-1 down with all to play in the second half.
We're back on for the second half now and Arsenal are making all the running. Saka misses a half chance.
Saka doesn’t look comfortable, grimacing a lot as the physio straps his ankle. But he gets up and prepares to battle on.
Nketiah rises highest, with Martinez on walkabout, and floats a header towards the top right and off the top of the post. So close to a second equalizer!
GOAL! Zinchenko bangs in the equalizer. it was coming!
Arsenal have 25 minutes now to win this one and retake the top.
All Arsenal now; Nketiah chips one just over the top.
Good morning. Now Desmond. Zinny with his first Gunners goal as he beats former Gunner, EMI at the near post with a shot from just outside the box off a short corner
Sorry I missed your comment about the equalizer. Gunners back on top, a point ahead of Citeh.
Wave after wave of Arsenal attacks now.
Oh - Odegaard misses a sitter!
OH! Steve's olfactory senses smelled a Gunners lead, but Odor Guard shot wide with just EMI to beat
Did your olfactory senses smell a Gunners lead.
Oh - Ramsdale saves one from Bailey onto the bar!
Morning, David - how's your week been. We've got a bit of snow here but I'll bet it's the kind that you and Trooper would love to tromp through.
Good morning How much snow did you get? Cold and sunny this morning but no snow here.
In terms of our week I felt like the Gunners did on Wednesday when I did my taxes yesterday. How was your week?
Half a dozen stoppage time minutes
Next on the telly is the Toffees vs Leeds
WOW! WHAT A LATE WINNER FROM JORGINHO! Long range shot crashed off the underside of the bar and actually off the head of former Gunners keeper, Emi for an OG.
What a hit from Jorginho!
A huge three points for the Gunners and top for the time being as I see Citeh winning at the City Ground
It went down as an EMI OG , but an Emmy winning goal for Steve & CO
GOAL! 2-4 MARTINELLI WALKS IT INTO AN EMPTY NET OFF A VILLA CORNER AS EMI WAS STILL UP AT THE OPPOSITE END OF THE PITCH CHASING THE EQUALIZER
2-4!
Simple goal as the Villa corner was headed away and Fabio Viera found Matinelli as the only player in the Villa half and he literally walked it into an empty net and it's over as the Gunners win 2-4. Time to take Trooper walkies on a sunny, but chilly morning
I predict Citeh will go back top after the match at the City Ground, but nothing is 100% certain. Next on the telly is the relegation six pointer at Goodison
Off for some diaper duty before the big match.
Back for the big one now. I'm filled with dread for this one. A win would be lovely, a draw acceptable, a loss disastrous.
The teams for the match at Goodison:
Everton: Pickford, Coleman, Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Iwobi, Doucoure, Gueye, Onana, McNeil, Maupay.
Subs: Holgate, Keane, Gray, Mina, Begovic, Godfrey, Davies, Vinagre, Simms.
Leeds United: Meslier, Ayling, Koch, Wober, Firpo, McKennie, Adams, Summerville, Harrison, Gnonto, Bamford.
Subs: Cooper, Aaronson, Gyabi, Robles, Rutter, Kristensen, Monteiro, Fernandez.
We're away at Goodison - come on!
They're off from Goodison Park.
COME ON LEEDS!
Back from walkies for what must be a nail biter
Toffees main attacking threat since Sean Dyche took charge has been Tark. Throw him in the Shark Tank! I mean an actual one, not Mark Cuban and Co. Sean Dyche NOT Mr. Wonderful
Willy a real Willie as the corner is cleared by the first man. That's a fine of four weeks wages
Bright start from us, but that's typical.
Unfortunately, Neil Maupay has a good scoring record against us. He'll be a threat.
That was when Evil Neil was with the Bees., He's been pure and utter soite since joining the Toffees. Worry about Tark at set pieces, not him. Just mark him up and Leeds will be fine
Do you want updates from the other fixtures? Big relegation six pointer at Molineaux today
Let's hope so, mate.
Southampton have had a shot cleared off the line early doors at Stamford Bridge and having saved his team from going a goal down, Kalidou Koulibaly has got away with a very nasty challenge on Paul Onuachu.
Of course, I'm hoping for a Chelsea win there.
Bit of flappiness from Meslier there - knock that off.
Oh - McNeil with a great cross there - went straight through.
I don't blame you. I guess you would want a draw at Molineaux.
Now Jack has fouled and Everton have a free kick. Mark 'em up!
Mark Tark on the free kick.Bamford heads away
With almost half an hour gone, the wait for a top flight goal goes on as far as our three o’clock kick-offs are concerned.
Good move there from the Toffees, but fortunately Onana blew it over the top.
Close from Lord Bamford. But now Everton have a corner.
City are dominating proceedings at the City Ground, as you might expect, but have yet to open their account.
Nice goal line clearance by Western McKinnie from the East from a Neil Maupay header off a corner. Just what the doc predicted.
Iwobi wins another corner for Everton - we're conceding too many of these.
Oh - Tarkowski with a header that Meslier had to palm away.
Just as I called Tark has a free header saved by Meslier from a Toffees corner
We're really under the cosh now - I'm quite worried.
Sorry to say but the Toffees have been the better team in the first half. Mick Skubala needs to rattle some teapots at the half.
I completely agree, mate.
A bit of argybargy now from both sides - no need for that.
VAR check for a red card offense. I'm really worried that Tyler Adams might go off.
Yellow for Adams and McNeil - phew, that's common sense.
Now McKennie and Doucoure have been added to that.
Sanders gives Citeh the lead at the City Ground . Citeh back on top.
JWP gives Saints the lead at SB. Sorry, Bob.
It's 0-0 at the half at Goodison
Saints still bottom, but only a pair of points behind Leeds and Hammers
Second half underway. Kristensen for Wober. What are your insights on that?
If I'm being honest, we weren't very good in that first half. But strangely, we've lost a lot of matches this season when we were the better side. Maybe this will be the odd time when we're not good but win?
Marcus Tavernier givers the Cherries the lead at Molineaux. Sorry, mate Leeds replace the Cherries in the drop zone , slightly behind the Hammers on goal difference
If Leeds can't win it then don't lose it.
A French Connection as it's straight to Meslier from Neil Maupay
Game still very much in the balance as Brenden Aaronson comes on. We really need a hero performance from him.
Bamford just doesn't look sharp enough this season. It's really costing us.
Have an hour round trip to make . Will be back for the late match. Rooting for Leeds to win this one
More bad news for us as the Cherries take the lead. So, both of the bottom sides are winning today.
Bollocks! Seamus Coleman sticks the knife in. Disaster!
BLOODY HELL! COLEMAN GIVES THE TOFFEES THE LEAD WITH A MISS HIT SHOT. SORRY, BOB.
Actually I blame Meslier with that really awful positioning. Why did he leave such a huge gap. Really awful goalkeeping.
We've now dropped to 19th - in real trouble.
Really poor from him - you have to cover the near post.
West Ham also in the drop zone now, albeit not having played yet this weekend.
Eberechi Eze gives Crystal Palace the lead at Brentford.
Cheerio, mate - have a safe trip. I probably will be in and out of the late one.
What on earth was that from Jack?!
And another useless delivery from Jack.
Neil Maupay comes off - he was the one that I feared. Who would have thought it would be Seamus Bloody Coleman who'd do us in with a flukey effort from the by-line. Grrr!
Ten minutes left to get something from this one.
MOT!
Willy wins us a corner. Come on!
Sam Greenwood coming on for Jack just when he was preparing to take it.
And just to add insult to injury, our old pal Chris Wood has equalized for Forest.
Four minutes of stoppage time to come now. Come on!
Maybe time for one last chance. Nope - that's it. A disastrous day for us with the bottom two winning and Forest getting a point against City. That six-point loss to Everton leaves us in 19th place, with only Southampton a point below us. We play them at home next weekend.
