Too Much of a Good Thing

Good Morning, Bob. Seems just like yesterday since we met at OT. Sorry, but have to root for Man United as we go second with a win a Man Scumb Shituh loss today. I do promise to root for Leeds the remainder of the season after today
No sure if you heard , but Nathan Jones was sacked by Saints this morning after just fourteen matches in charge. Not exactly a shock. Looking for their their manager of the season
Then the farcical fair play accusations against Man Scumb Shituh. As if they will be seriously punished. What an effin' joke.
Morning, David! Thanks for joining me. I'm just waking up to that news about Nathan Jones. I suppose it was nothing he didn't deserve - the loss against Wolves yesterday the final straw. It means that the Saints have sacked two managers already this season and seem doomed to the big drop. Who would want that job?
The team news for today's big match between our two teams:
Leeds: Meslier, Ayling Firpo, Koch, Wober, Adams, McKennie, Summerville, Harrison, Bamford, Gnonto. Subs: Robles, Monteiro, Mullen, Kristensen, Gyabi, Greenwood, Aaronson, Joseph, Rutter.
Man Utd: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire (capt), Shaw, Malacia; Sabitzer, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst. Subs: Heaton, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Varane, Martinez, Iqbal, Pellistri, Elanga, Garnacho.
You're welcome . I guess the follow up to your question is who can they get to do the job? Jesse? It's hard to find a qualified and available manager at this time of the season.
We're underway! Let's have a good one!
Back from the bog.Didn't miss any goals . I second that
PHEW! United nearly gifted Leeds A goal. Summerville misses a sitter balding over from close range during the middle of Winter
Oh - a mix-up in the Umited and Summerville should have scored!
Western McKinnie with a strong , late challenge on Malacia
Ten Hog complaining to the fourth official about the challenge. Top be honest , he's not a big time complainer like a lot of other managers
Great tempo and noise, as expected.
Agreed. This is a proper War of the Roses Derby. This is what we expected and wanted
Jack has a chance to cross but can't find Lord Bamford.
Free kick chance now - cleared out by Fred.
Happy with things so far - a point would be very helpful for us.
Our problem going forward is that we're always looking for the killer ball. We need to be more patient and controlled.
Junior Firpo picks up the first yellow card of the match for a lunge in on Sancho.
McKennie playing further forward today than he was at OT.
That shows the danger that United possess. A couple of passes from Rash and Bruno is free to have a pop on goal. Fortunately, he got it all wrong.
Now Fred joins his compatriot into the book for a dive in on Summerville.
Poor free kick but Rash nearly gave Bamford a chance. Wasn't clinical enough.
Back from the bog. and missed the action stated in the last few comments. Should be here for good
Bamford is sandwiched and we've got another free kick now. Come on!
Nasty from Summerville there; I don't think the ref saw that.
Halfway through the first half and I'm quite pleased with the match so far, but I know that United can cut us apart in an instant.
A draw probably helps Leeds more than us, especially if Pool win the Mersey Derby tomorrow.
Sabitzer upends Gnonto and we've got another free kick.
It definitely helps us more; you'd go second with a win. A draw doesn't help you out much at all.
Sabitzer late on Willy. I wasn't exactly pleased with us getting him, albeit on loan. He's showing why he wasn't a regular with Bayern more than anything else
Ayling snatched at that one when he had a good chance to cross.
I I think Leeds has been the slightly better side so far
I agree with Jim Proudfoot; not a lot of quality football so far.
If Jesse takes over at St. Mary's then they may improve. Do you see that happening?
I'll reluctantly be rooting for Pool tomorrow. Don't really care for either side.
Agreed, Bob. After a good start this one has been scrappy. Some of these affairs can be.
There's a bit of niggle that's entered the match in the last minutes.
Oh - Jack had a real chance to find someone in the box but Maguire recovered well.
Now Tyler has got an elbow in the mouth from Malacia.
Bruno has a pop but it's easily saved by Meslier. He wants a handball but there's nothing doing.
Meanwhile, Wes McKennie has picked up a yellow for a hack on Rash.
Naughty by Western McKinnie from the east on Rash and booked for that for the off the ball challenge
Bruno always wants a call. He needs to get on with it.
I get the sense that McKennie is going to pick up a lot of cards in his time at Leeds. He's pretty combative.
Both managers should have plenty to say at the half
He'll definitely get more cards than I will for my birthday, anniversary, and Father's Day combined
How did Summerville not give Leeds the lead in the middle of Winter. Got behind Malacia and a good close range save by De Gea. Malacia has had a poor half. I'd have him off at the half
A trio of stoppage time minutes
OH! Then Bruno was through and his shot was kick saved by Melsier as Bruno caught Wober in possession.
OH! Then that Shaw was a free header, but the replay shows it last came off of Ayling for what should have been a corner. It is
The match has come to life during stoppage time
It's 0-0 at the half. I think this one will come down to which manager gives the better halftime talk
The second half is underway from ER!
COME ON MAN UNITED!
I'm back from some baby duty with my brekkies. Rutter hsa just come on for a dejected looking Pat Bamford. Not his day.
Welcome back. Was the diaper duty more exciting than the match?
Some Argie Bargie as Lizzy Martinez for Malacia and Garnacho for Sancho. Both replaced players have been poor today
OH! Off the bar. That's more than Dilly Dalot. I thought Bob was about to need an underwear change, LOL!
Twenty five minutes left. We just need to keep our shape now and see out what would be a valuable point. Somehow I think that we'll commit too much and get killed on the break.
I missed that chance actually while I was settling the twins for their nap. Who hit the bar?
Decent run by Firpo of all people. Nearly played Summerville in.
It was off the bar by your mate, Dilly Dalot.
Wow - an overhead effort by Luke Ayling o all people. If that had gone in, the roof would have come off the place!
LOL! Glad it didn't go in.
I'm not at all convinced by Rutter as of yet.
His rutter needs some WD 40 or his putter is off?
I feel the same way about Sabitzer that you do about Rutter
Now Rutter with a foul and several subs will come on - Obi Wan for you lot and Aaronson for us.
Obi Wan on for Dilly Dalot while Aaronson for Jack Harrison giving Leeds three Americans on the pitch
Really scrappy stuff now - probably suits us.
This match is becoming as scrappy as a duel between M&M. It may take a solitary goal to decide this match
Unorthodox clearance by Meslier there.
Agreed - the twins enjoy a good scrap over a favorite toy.
OH! Good kick save by De Gea from Summerville during the middle of Winter
My brother texted me that Maguire is Leeds's twelfth man . Do you concur?
Summerville nearly in there to deliver a killer goal. Good save by De Gea.
LOL, mate! That toy scrap sounds like this match.
LOL! No - I think that Maguire has been decent today.
Bollocks! That's what I was worried about. Killer blow by Rash. 0-1.
WAY HAY! RASH G\IVES MAN UNITED THE LEAD. Sorry, mate
VAR checking for offside
VAR checking now - come on, offside!
I think that may be disallowed. BUGGER!
The goal stands - grrr!
NO Firpo playing him on. It's given. Sorry, mate
Great header by Rashford - that shows you the difference that quality makes in front of goal. We've had the more chances but Rashford has taken advantage.
Sabitzer came good this time with a nice long diagonal wide left then that Shaw was a nice cross headed in by Rash.
Not surprised that it was Firpo who played him on. He's a dozy git.
Come on, boys - let's get it back!
United now second pending the late match. Leeds one spot out of the drop zone a point ahead of the Cherries and Toffees
And Garnacho seals it. 0-2. Grrr!
WAY HAY! GARNACHO PUTS UNITED TWO UP
Meslier beaten at the near post - that's poor from him.
United won the ball in midfield then Garnacho played wide left then went on a run beating Meslier at the near post
Sorry, mate.
Sam Greenwood on for Western McKINNIE
Wes McKennie coming off now. He's been decent today. Greenwood on for him.
We'll just have to hope that Liverpool hammer Everton now. If the Toffees get a win tomorrow, we'll be in the dropzone for the first time this season.
Rash at the double. No it's disallowed for offside. That was close.
I think, he was leaning offside, just. I think they just about got it right
Rash rattles another in but this time it is ruled offside.
Rash off for anthony who hasn't played in Elanga time
Agreed, mate. I'll definitely be rooting for the red half of Merseyside tomorrow.
AlsoLeeds needs a manger with a tack record ASAP, which is easier said than done at this time of the season.
Wout about that? Weghorst with a goal disallowed for offside off the corner. He was definitely off.
It's over at ER. Man United win 0-2. Sorry, mate.
