Crunch Time in the Champions League
It's crunch time in the Champions League this evening as Bayern try to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the away leg in Madrid last week. It's also crunch time in the PPP as there are real points on the line in this afternoon's result. Who will outwit whom today - join me from 2:45pm here to find out!

Here's what this match means to the PPP game.
Predicting the correct CL winner is worth 8 points.
Three of us have picked Real (Blue Devil, Red Devil and Sporting)
Six of us have picked Bayern (Gooner, MUR, Red Dragon, Swansong, UWS, Simon)
The team news out of Munchen tonight:
Bayern Munich: Neuer; Lahm, Dante, Boateng, Alaba; Kroos, Schweinsteiger; Robben, Müller, Ribéry; Mandzukic. Subs: Raeder, Van Buyten, Rafinha. Martinez, Götze, Hojbjerg, Pizarro.
Real Madrid: Casillas; Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Coentrão; Modric, Xabi Alonso, Di Maria; Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo. Subs: Diego Lopez, Varane, Marcelo, Casemiro, Isco, Illarramendi, Morata.
A couple of cracking matches in the Championship tonight with PPP implications as well. Brighton fan MUR will be hoping for a big Birmingham win over Wigan tonight, which might allow the Seagulls to sneak into the playoff spots on the last day of the season.
The CL coverage is being pre-empted by the sensational news that racist LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned for life from the Clippers and NBA, has been fined $2.5 million and will be forced to sell the team. Wow!
I'm on to Al Jazeera coverage. They're not talking about Sterling.
Great atmosphere in the Allianz Stadium tonight. The Bayern fans are having a bit of a sing-song right now.
Players in the tunnel now....
Silly CL anthem time.
Moment of silence for Villanova and Boskov, two managers who recently died.
The Championship matches have kicked off now. Wigan are now two points clear of Brighton but are a goal worse off.
Bayern get us underway. Here's to an open, attacking match.
Rob Hawthorne and Alan Smith on this coverage
Goal at St. Andrews!!!!!
And it's to Wigan - great start for them. They're now four points clear of Brighton. That result would definitely put them into the playoffs.
Remember that Brum are a point worse off than Donny in 22nd. However, they've got better GD.
Real absorbing some early Bayern pressure.
Oh - Neuer made a real hash of that clearance and Monkey Boy Bale skied it over the bar. Should have been 0-1 Real.
Handbags between Ribery and Pepe. Referee broke it up.
GOAL! Ramos has put Real Madrid in the lead!!!!!
Great corner over from Modric and Sergio Ramos came steaming in on it and Neuer had no chance.
Bayern have to score three now!!
0-1!
GOAL! It's Ramos again! They just can't handle him from the set pieces!
0-2!
Simple ball in, Skippy was triple teamed but no one picked up the danger man Sergio Ramos.
Bayern need four!!
Bayern are all over the place at the back now. Neuer spilled another one. They could easily be three or four down now in the first half hour!
Charlton are 1-0 up now through Harriott. A win today would put them well out of trouble on 48 points.
Hey Bob
Just figured out you're on here
I saw both goals go in after I got home
Shocker
I thought I had picked Real in the PPP but I think I opted for BM
A real shocker. I thought Real would go through but not like this.
According to my records, you did pick Bayern in the end. Only The Red Devil, Sporting and I picked Bayern. Your bruvver Tony picked Chelski (naturally).
Great break there but Benzema ran into trouble when he was released by Modric.
How's your week going, mate?
Forever long!!
State Exams start tomorrow for the next three days…. bloody CC
Bloody Norah!
Looks like some states (Indiana, Texas) are starting to scrap Common Core. Maybe NYS will be next?
HOPE SO
The Guv won't allow it
THREE NIL!@!
BALE BREAKS AND GETS IT TO RONNY!!!
Well done by Bale
GOAL! It's Skippy Time! His 50th CL goal!
Bayern have been hit for three in the first half. Wow!
The Guv's term is nearly up though and he'll have his eye on the Presidency.
Hope he buggers off
Good afternoon. What is going on with Bayern? There goes eight points down the drain
Useless effort by Robben with the free kick
Useless commentating by Gus!
TOO MUCH POWER!
Afternoon, MUR - the Bayern CL dream is well and truly over.
Robben's complaining about Pepe making a meal of that one. A bit like the pot calling the kettle black, no?
I can't stand the time wasting and acting
Bayern can't complain because they do it too
If all sides stop…. I'd be happy
These players should be embarrassed with themselves… they should be forced to show their children
Now it's DiMaria down for the count. Don't know why they're time wasting. They're bloody 4-0 up on aggregate. Bayern would need to score five!
Mark in Berks: Bayern Munich took their foot off the gas the moment they won the German title; they've been unable to get the intensity back and it's cost them
United could have beaten them!
Nothing comes of that Skippy effort.
Neuer goes walk about … very dangerous with Ronny on the Run
Bloody hell - Neuer was forty yards out of his goal there to clear it!
And that's half time. Real are 0-3 up on the night! Incredible scenes.
Did you see that Cech, Terry and Hazard are already to play tomorrow!!
So much for Cech and Terry out for the rest of the season
I was surprised by that too - more mind games from Mou?
Out for the second half
Bayern need five goals and they swap a striker (Mandzukic) for a defender (Martinez)???!!!
Real get us underway in the second half. Hard to see them throwing this one away.
Alonso does a Keane and Scholes and booked in the first half.. out of the final
The World Cup has changed that. A red or two yellows in the semi kick you out of the World Cup Final but cumulative yellows stop after the semis
I don't think players should be banned with a cumulative yellows
Two matches in the Championship tonight
Desperate Birmingham are losing at home to playoff bound Wigan 1-0
Charlton making themselves safe winning 1-0 against Watford at the Valley
MUR won't be happy with that Wigan lead. He's still dreaming that Brighton could sneak into the Prem in the backdoor.
If the scores stay the same
Derby is secured in 3rd
QPR in 4th
Wigan is on 73 in 5th
Reading on 70 in sixth
Brighton still in with a change on 69
The bottom
Brum have 43
Donny 44
Millwall 45
Blackpool 46
ALL WITH ONE GAME TO PLAY
It all comes down to Saturday morning early doors.
I wouldn't want Pep at OT
Too much possession without going anywhere
No strikers!!
I agree; you don't want that.
Do you want Chelsea to make the final?
I don't
I usually want the English clubs to make it but Jose would make it such a dull final
Decent effort by Robben
Fans booing a little because all the little passes going no where before the shot
Robben tries a curler - gets it wrong.
Watford have tied it up at the Valley
Charlton back with an unlikely chance of the drop. Way ahead on GD BUT if either Brum or Watford score again… they'll be right in the mix of it
What is with the Champions League never being able to be defended
Charlton have retaken the lead
Crippy Cooke: To think Real were just a post's width away from exiting the Champions League in the previous round.
Dortmund could and should have made the big comeback and knock them out
Boring second half… why can't teams entertain?
Real have taken the foot off the gas and Bayern haven't got the Plan B to be able to break them down.
Charlton are making it safe… 3-1 up with just over 10 to go… they'll be dancing south of the river tonight
Birmingham just need a goal to move out of the bottom three and be replaced by Donny
Not sure that Brum are capable of it. They're destined to go down just as Wolves are going back up.
It might just be that 45 or 46 points will mean safety in the Championship this season.
Has there ever been a Final between two teams from the same city?
I don't think so
Same country but not down the block!!!
Surely there has been an Inter v. Milan final, no? I seem to remember one from a few years back.
43 is going down now
donny with 44 Milwall 45 and Blackpool with 46
one of three to go down
Don't think so
The first from the same country was AC v Juventus at OT
We've had United v Chelsea, Bayern v Borussia
Any others?
Blackpool have Charlton at home
Millwall have Bournemouth at home
Donny have Leicester away
Brum have Bolton away.
Real v Valencia as well in 2000
Free kick chance for Real… GOAL… RONNY WITH A BRACE
GOAL!!!!! Skippy rounds it off in style.
FOUR BLOODY NIL!!!
FIVE NIL ON AGGREGATE
Useless by the wall.. don't jump
The wall completely fell apart there and Skippy just rifled it under them and into the net. Terrible defending.
0-4!
BLOODY NORAH! I did not see this coming. Bob will be pleased.
So… who do you want in the final?
Ronny has two goals but Bale should get some credit for passing it to him for his first… he was one on one and no one could have blamed him from having a go
Game over and Real are in the Final… come on Atletico!!!
It would be an exciting final but with a lot of histrionics… of course… Chelsea do that too
Ronaldo playing in Lisbon
Very pleased. I can smell those eight points - and I need them!
I've just looked again and have noticed that Simon is the only one who picked Citeh for the title. That could be crucial.
I'm off, lads. I'll catch you later.
Charlton have won and are officially safe
Wigan has won at Brum… the Blue Noses are in MAJOR TROUBLE!!!
Off to college
