It's another big night in the Champions League with United traveling to Moscow to meet CSKA and Citeh hosting Sevilla. The biggest match of the night is PSG v. Real Madrid. I'm in the office following on Fox Soccer 2 Go - join me, won't you?

I'm watching the PSG v. Real prematch coverage. They've shown an extremely overweight Ronaldo in the stands. Boy, has he let himself go in retirement.

Over the coverage of CSKA and United. It looks ruddy cold there. Cor!

We're underway at CSKA tonight. Come on, United!

Oh dear - CSKA have a penalty, after silly boy Martial handles it in the area.

Saved by Twilight but Dumbia has netted the rebound!

1-0 CSKA!

Of course, I've also got my eye on Craven Cottage where my Leeds boys are playing Fulham this evening.

I'll take a point from the off. Low expectations, don't you know.

That goal has transformed things utterly. Suddenly it’s CSKA who are playing with assurance and United who are scampering around rather forlornly in search of the ball. On an individual level, Martial is enduring the first significant setback of his nascent United career, having given away the penalty needlessly and now been booked, to boot.

Brentford are 0-1 up at Wolves, who are trying to outdo us with poor Championship form.

In the CL, Benfica are 0-1 up at Gala and Malmo are 1-0 up over Shakhtar.

Yevhen has put Sevilla 0-1 up, so England's poor run in the CL this season continues.

Bugger! Moussa Dembele has put Fulham 1-0 up over Leeds. I didn't feel good about it.

Oh - Roon tries one from distance that flies over. He seems to be the only threat right now.

Gala have turned it around - 2-1 now in Istanbul.

Atletico have taken a 2-0 lead against Astana.

Coming to the end of the first half; United still 1-0 down in Moscow.

Citeh, meanwhile, have leveled it through an own goal.

Half-time: CSKA 1-0 United

United are in a rut and need to change their ways to have any chance of getting out of it. They’ve posed little problem to CSKA, who’ve taken the fluffy jabs that United have been throwing and responded with meaty punches. Van Gaal’s men are very vulnerable to the home side’s rapid counter-attacking, especially down the right. De Gea has had to excel, while CSKA could have had a snow man in goal in the first period.

Leeds also very much in a rut, down 1-0 at Craven Cottage this evening at half-time. It's got to get better, lads. Come on!

Back on in Moscow for the second half. Fellaini has come on at the interval to change things up a bit.

Good afternoon, Bob. I am joining you for the second half.

One last check on things before I head to set up my class. Still 1-0 in Moscow.

Still 1-0 at the Cottage.

It doesn't look like a great day for our Uniteds.

Roon heads straight to Akinfeyev off a cross from Herrera

4:02 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

On a night of being on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline on the road, Cambridge are trailing by that score at Exeter

4:04 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Home fans jeering United because CSKA's Fernandez went down, but United kept playing . Fernandez was OK , so why kick it out.

4:05 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

United miss a great chance as Herrera played through Jesse Lingard. His soft effort was comfortably saved with just Akinfeyev to beat. He was flagged offside, but replays showed he was level.

4:06 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Daley Blind is on for Rojo

4:07 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

UNITED TIE IT UP AS KUNG FU PANDA HEADS IN A CROSS FROM vALENCIA OFF THE POST AFTER VALENCIA PLAYED A NICE ONE TWO WITH HERRERA,

4:08 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Akinfeyev was screaming at Tosic for leaving Martial with a free header.

4:09 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Another chance for United as they've been getting a lot of joy down the right. A cross from Valencia was headed into the ground by Hair Bear and easily caught by Akinfeyev

4:10 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

WAY HAY!!! Leeds tie it up at the Cottage. Chris Wood scored from the spot to make it 1-1.

4:11 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Schennikov wins a CSKA corner after getting a long diagonal pass. Beruzutsky heads harmlessly out from the corner.

4:13 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Phil Jones does well to win a tackle, goes on a solo run, and then wins a corner. How often can we say that? D 3.14 is on for Jesse Lingard

4:22 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The corner is headed away and then Herrera is booked for fouling Doumbia on the counter.

4:22 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Kung Fu Panda wins a free kick. Roon will take.

4:24 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Roon as usual, gets it horribly wrong as it's overhit and eludes everyone.

4:25 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Panchenko is on for Roman Eremenko.

4:25 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

United have had 74% of the possession, but it's still 1-1 and each team has seven shots on target. THat possession stat must be the most useless stat in footie.

4:27 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

D Pi crosses into the box , Kung Fu Panda cuts back into the box and Akinfeyev bravely pushes away the ball at the feet of Hair Bear, who just failed to connect

4:28 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Cauna is on for Jackoff.

4:28 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Hair Bear is booked for a foul on Tosic.

4:32 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Just two minutes of stoppage time/.

4:32 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

It finishes 1-1 in Moscow.

4:35 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

United end up with nearly 80% of the possession, but could not find a late winner. I guess a draw is a decent result on the road.

4:38 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Leeds have drawn 1-1 at The Cottage . I'm sure Bob will take given that Leeds had trailed a good part of the match.

4:41 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Citeh have defeated Sevilla 2-1 thanks to a stoppage time winner by De Bruyne. What a great result for Citeh.

4:42 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Brentford won 0-2 at Wolves while Cambridge lost 1-0 at Exeter.

4:43 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The draw moves Leeds up to 16th place, but just two points clear of the drop zone.

4:45 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

United and CSKA are tied for second in a very tight group while Citeh are in second, just one point behind Juve and looking good to advance.

4:47 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

That's it for me. Cheerio.

4:47 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Thanks, mate - I am delighted with those score draws both in Moscow and at the Cottage. I'll take that point every day of the week. Go on!

NOT BLOODY GOOD ENOUGH

CLUELESS
SLOW
ONE PACE
SIDEWAYS
BACKWARDS
BORING!!

Perfect example....91st minute... chance to get a free kick into the box from inside the CSKA half... no... pass it sideways, backwards.... win a throw-win in their own half

Very frustrated
