Evening, all. I'm wrapping up our Euro 2024 Predictions Game doings tonight. It's a bittersweet moment for me as I'm still feeling the disappointment of the England loss, which is only slightly tempered by my win in this summer's game. As I mentioned in the last update, what put me over the top was guessing right on both of the finalists as well as Harry Kane as one of the Golden Boots. In last night's ceremony, France's keeper Mike Maignan was announced as the Golden Glove and Spain's midfield supremo Rodri was given the MVP award. Several of us picked Maignan but no one guessed Rodri. Also, none of the managers has been sacked to date, although several of them, including Gareth Southgate appear to be heading for the door. Euro 2024 Predictions - Semi-final Update

Evening, all. I hope that you're all still basking in the glow of that late, late win for England yesterday. For the second tournament around Gareth Southgate has steered the team into a Euro final. Let's hope that it won't come down to a penalty shoot-out again. Sadly, for most of you, who picked France to win the tournament and either Germany or Portugal to rival them in the final and Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtle Kylian Mbappe to be Golden Boot, there are not many points bouncing around for you at this point. Only three of us picked England - West Ham, UWS and yours truly. It was a real jackpot for me as I not only picked both finalists but good old Captain Kane as Golden Boot. He and Spain's Dani Olmo are the only players on three goals who have the best chance of winning that competition outright. Well, I suppose Jude Bellingham could score a perfect hat-trick on Sunday - works for me! In any case, it means a whopping 20 points coming to the Blue Devil. England in the Semis!

Morning chaps! For the third time in the past four major tournaments, Gareth Southgate's England team have made the semi-final stages. We may complain about his style of play, but Southgate is far and away the most successful England manager since Sir Alf Ramsey. What separates the Three Lions from a final against Spain, who defeated France this afternoon, is an appointment this evening with The Netherlands. Let's hope the boys can keep their nerves and book their spot for Sunday's big climax. Come on, England!

Euro 2024 Predictions Game - Quarterfinal Update

Evening, all - I hope you enjoyed the four quarterfinal matches that we've just witnessed as much as I did, especially England's triumph over Switzerland on penalty kicks this evening. In this update, things are fairly simple - each of us gets four points for each quarterfinal winner (Spain, France, England and The Netherlands) that we got right. None of us is getting any further points for the Golden Boot competition and none of us guessed the four players in the running. Quarter-final time!

Hiya, everyone! Are you ready for the England boys? Somehow Gareth Southgate and the boys have made it through to the quarter-finals, despite having only scored four goals in four matches and only winning one in regular time. That said, France have gotten through to the semi-finals having scored only two goals in five matches, so England are part of a sorry routine. Let's hope the side pull their fingers out today as Switzerland have proven to be an exciting, dangerous side. Come on, you Three Lions - let's get this done!

Euro 2024 Predictions Game - Round of 16 Update

Evening, gents. I hope that you've been enjoying the Round of 16 matches at Euro 2024 this past few days. There have certainly been some humdingers, including this evening's clash between Turkey and Austria that ended the round. At the end of matters, most of us were able to prediction between 5 and 6 of the teams who will compete in the quarterfinals this weekend. At the same time, Cody Gakpo added his name to the list of Golden Boot contendors with a goal against Romania now. Gokpo, alongside Georgia's Georges Mikautadze, Germany's Jamal Musiala and Slovakia's Ivan Schranz. Sadly none of us plumped for any of them, so no points there. It all means that our standard bearer Teddy Goalesevelt is still leading the pack, albeit alongside your humble host. Here are the current standings: 1.
