Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Is Nike ruining the fun in football? Why?
Hey, Davey sent around a link to a new Nike ad for the World Cup and it's great to see the best footballers doing their stupid human tricks in fast-cut, but what's with the tone? I mean, "risk everything" with a skull and crossbones? Why do these new ads, and Nike are supreme culprits here, have this do-or-die tone when it's a bloody game after all. Everything else should be do-or-die, and football should be fun and playful so that we get a break. Do they think we'll forget that these show-pony millionaire athletes are pretty one-dimensional personalities that live and breathe the game? Don't get me started on the tone of the USMNT ads. All I'm saying is wasn't this more fun? And not so long ago? Beat it Nike. Go back to the Gridiron unless you can do this again. Click here for fun

It doesn't get any bigger than this bright and early on a Sunday morning as there is a triple header that affects both ends of the table. we start with a relegation six pointer at the SOL as Sunderland hosts Cardiff City, followed by the biggie, at Anfield Where Liverpool hosts Chelsea. The title could be all but decided or it could still be wide open. We conclude with Crystal Pulis vs Citeh , which also affects the title race. A must see!

Footie Trivia Question of the Week
Time for the Riddler again, chaps. And this week, it's a real corker:
"Since 1990, five Premiership or Football League grounds ending with the word "Road" have ceased to exist (they've snuffed it and gone to meet their makers; they are ex-grounds). Name as many as you can and the clubs who used to play there."
Good luck!

Chris Hughton Walks the Plank
Yet another BPL manager walked the dreaded plank as Delia Smith and Co. decided that Chris Hughton was a recipe for disaster. After a poor run of form, Norwich have been sucked into a relegation battle with an extremely tough run-in. Their remaining run is a relegation six point pointer at the Fake Cottage followed by matches against Liverpool, Man United , Chelsea, and Arsenal. It looks bleak for the Canaries. Was this decision made too late?
